Episode #1.6

Probably the last notable role for actor Joss Ackland who died in 2023. He plays Mr Narbutowicz, an elderly Polish gentleman and a concentration camp survivor.

The council want's to evict him from his house as it is unsafe. The house has accumulated rubbish and also Mr Narbutowicz has not paid rent for years.

Lyle gets the case. He is frustrated that he gets nothing substantial to do as a trainee. In fact he is looking for other jobs.

His empathy for clients helps him see a way out for Mr Narbutowicz. He has squatters rights.

Meanwhile Peter Kingdom follows a trail that leads to a conclusion that his brother might be alive. He has faked his own death. There is an elderly couple who were warned by his brother about identity theft.

The least convincing storyline was Gloria falling for Sidney Snell. At least it means Snell spruces up at the end.

The first series of Kingdom tried too hard to rely on quirky charm and scenic views. The stories were rather low wattage, some of the characters were just plain annoying. Even the in series finale the fate of Peter's brother was predictable.
