    Overall Good Movie

I believe that this movie was overall very interesting. I am a hard customer to please when it comes to TV. I will not hide my distaste for our spongy yellow friend. I have to say that I believed the Spongebob was on a spiraling downfall since 2004 but after I saw this episode I was thinking other wise. The songs could have been less but the attempt to fill the episode with music was a great idea. I am a choir veteran and love music. It is one thing that this world needs. Enough digressing, now then, it was a great episode. It is the first time in years that I have to give my compliments to the chef(creator). David Bowie was the magic gold dust that Spongebob needed. Well done Stephen! Well done! I give this episode an 8/10 Could have had more to it and been longer but my artistic hunger was indeed satisfied.

This could've been an amazing episode of SpongeBob.

Many people have said that Atlantis SquarePantis was, and still to this day, the absolute WORST episode of SpongeBob; I disagree. That spot goes to A Pal for Gary (One Coarse Meal is still awful too). There's a reason why I don't consider this the worst episode in all of SpongeBob history. Call me crazy, but this episode COULD'VE been a GREAT episode of SpongeBob. No joke; I mean, an episode where SpongeBob and his friends go to Atlantis? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FANTASTIC EPISODE!!!! What could possibly ruin the experience?? Well, there's one problem with it: Filler. That's the problem with this episode. And it's not even the only SpongeBob episode with filler. This episode turned out to be a FORCED musical that serves no purpose. If they wanna make this episode a musical, it shouldn't start off with the bubble song, they probably should've make this more like the original 1939 Wizard of Oz movie, starting off with a song about Atlantis. Not only that, they guest starred David Bowie, who NEVER sang ONE song in this movie. Another reason to wanting to make this a musical is to have David Bowie sing at least ONE song. Do you think that having David Bowie sing would ruin everything? No. Having him not sing at all does. So does the filler. If you're going to make this a musical, make it less forced, put GOOD morals in it, make it sound enchanting, have songs that DO go with the plot, and let David Bowie sing just this once, PLEASE!!! It's already too late, especially since David Bowie died last year. PRE-movie SpongeBob would do better at making an Atlantis-centered episode than POST-movie SpongeBob. Bottom line, this movie sucks.

    I Agree With Senorita123

People, senorita123 is completely right. Where is the original, funny, adult humor type show that we all used to know and love? I tell you where it is, on a bus heading to the Bermuda Triangle. And then we get this stuff from baby land and keep getting these dumb, hyped up, stupid, not funny, childish episodes. I haven't been watching the latest Kid Choice Awards, but I do know that this show used to get a lot of those awards, and hopefully it still isn't. Spongebob was good from 1999-2004, but from the Spongebob movie and on, the animation changed, Spongebob changed, and more importantly, the SHOW changed. Nickelodeon needs to come out of their little turtle shell and start bringing back the old shows. Re-Runs or not they were actually FUNNY. Not stupid.

1 out of 10 for a complete waste of time and anticipation.

    Worst SpongeBob Episode EVER

Words can't describe how awful this episode was. Such a long wait for an apparently exciting episode and this is what they came up with? A bunch of mindless songs sung by the now high pitched voice Spongebob and the rest of the characters(or what's left of them). The episode had jokes that flopped horribly and it seems like Spongebob has been dying a slow death since 2004. Spongebob was fantastic from its start and even through the movie. But now it's just another cartoon that helps dumb down America. It's just too bad. I say let the show go so Stephen Hillenburg won't come to regret ever creating it(if he hasn't already).

    If I could I'd give it a 0/10.

    Decent Special

Hello Folks Today I'm Reviewing The SpongeBob SquarePants Special Atlantis Squarepantis. I remember watching this special in November 2007 when I was a Kid. The Special is about SpongeBob & his friends going to Atlantis with Plankton as a Stowaway. SpongeBob & His Friend's Meet Lord Royal Highness voiced By The Late David Bowie. A lot of People hate this Special Because SpongeBob & His Friends sing the Songs & David Bowie as Lord Royal Highness Does not sing the songs Because David Bowie is A Singer. Anyway I Thought The Special was as Okay with some of the jokes Being okay like Patrick Popping the world's Oldest living bubble with taking a picture with a Camera. Anyway Decent Special that a give 6/10 Anyway Bye.

Lord Royal Highness has multi-colored eyes, green and blue. The late David Bowie, who voiced him, had one permanently dilated pupil, which many mistook as heterochromia iridium.
    • Quotes

Lord Royal Highness: Gentlemen, what *is* art?

SpongeBob SquarePants: [jumping excitedly, a hand in the air] Oh! Me, me! I know, I know!

Squidward Tentacles: [shoving SpongeBob out of the way] I thought you'd never ask! Art is a conscious arrangement of elements that affects the sense of beauty!

Lord Royal Highness: Not even close. Art is what happens when you learn... to *dream*.

    • Alternate versions
When this episode is originally aired, the Patchy segments is absent, meaning the commercial breaks placement is placed on the following:
      • The first two acts is combined into one part, with the first break ending on the second act.
      • The third act is split in two, meaning the Plankton song sequence is placed after the second commercial break. The fourth and final act plays as usual. Also, the title card music starts when the title card first appears on the screen.
