Interesting
I love all the Jackass and this one was pretty good. Not bad for one that didn't come out in the movies. NIce to see all of the extra bonus footage that was missed from the films.
Not that funny as a stand alone
Unless watched along with Jackass 2, the behind the scenes isn't that funny on its own. Most of the stunts are rejects that didn't work. Still some good stuff though.
"The beads will be lubed up, we're spitting on them"
This should have a been an extra feature on the Jackass Number Two DVD. It has some great moments, some not so great, and some sickening things.
If you're a Jackass fan you should see it, but paying so much to see it isn't the best idea. These are basically the rejected scenes not used in Number Two, and for some you'll understand why. Some is just inappropriate, but so hilarious like the original stuff. Ever since the first Jackass movie, they've all been pushing the limits of what they can do, and lately the more disgusting and cruder stuff comes out like more nudity and vomiting. It also seems more Hollywood, but nonetheless another piece of Jackass.

Not much more than a glamorous bonus feature, Sorry guys!
Upon learning there were to be a Jackass 2.5 to be released, i was indeed over the moon. I also learned that it consisted of all the bonus footage from the filming of Jackass No.2 STOP! Although it would be true to say this film is comprised of "bonus footage" from the main film, it would be more accurate to say this film is comprised of "failed footage" from the main film.
Reading some of the other articles on this "straight to video" release, I found myself agreeing with many of the opinions mentioned. Jackass 2.5 is basically a glamourised bonus feature, that (in my opinion) should of appeared on a 2nd bonus disc available with the main film, The content, although very funny, is not strong enough to stand on its own. Still, it is a great watch for the hardcore jackass fans with some hilarious skits (the best of which both involve Prestons' enlarge rump!) The biggest let down for me was Bam Margeras' overly-eager gayness, it seemed to transform the flow if the skits into the lowliest of gay porn. I understand that the show is all about pain and humiliation but excitedly wanting to do such things to your ,ahem, "exit hole" makes it a little too ...... seedy! Still, despite the above, it made for enjoyable watch, lets face it, being in the foreshadow of the amazing Jackass No2, it was a tough bill to beat. And im sure Jackass 2.5 has generated a lot of "bad press," but i hope it ain't put the guys off making a third installment of the now legendary Jackass Anthology! Leftovers from the Stunt Buffet
Jackass 2.5 is exactly what it claims to be: a slapped-together DVD bonus of unused bits from Jackass Number Two. If you're craving more of the crew's unhinged idiocy - think Wee Man crammed into a suitcase or Bam getting chased by a dental-flossing horse - it delivers that same chaotic energy. The chemistry's still there: Knoxville's reckless grin, Steve-O's masochistic glee, and Pontius' baffling commitment to absurdity. Watching them improvise nonsense in a hotel room or torment each other with fireworks has a loose, low-stakes charm.
But let's be real - these are scraps for a reason. Most skits lack the punch or escalation of the theatrical cuts. The shock value feels diluted (a fart here, a mild electrocution there), and without the tight editing or narrative flow of the main films, the randomness becomes repetitive fast. It's less a meal, more a bag of half-stale chips: satisfying if you're starved for content, but ultimately forgettable.
The behind-the-scenes banter offers fleeting fun - hearing them crack up mid-disaster or debate who drew the short straw for a particularly dumb stunt. Yet even this wears thin without structure. It's a victory lap without a finish line, appealing only to completists or insomniacs scrolling at 2 AM. Harmless? Sure. Essential? Not even close. Stick to the main courses; this is just the soggy bread roll at the bottom of the takeout bag.

- TriviaRyan Dunn only appears in archive footage in this movie. He had become depressed after developing a life-threatening blood clot during filming and contracting Lyme disease afterwards, so he declined to make himself available for interviews or commentary. In fact, he cut off all contact with his cast mates for years afterward, until shortly before Jackass 3D (2010) entered production.
