Basic Rocket Science

I still enjoy this episode a lot but Annie's motivation for doing a certain thing is completely contrived with how she acted a few episodes ago and there is no reasonable explanation for it.

A fun parody of space rescue movies with some extra Galaxy Quest sprinkled on top. Love the absurdity of training people in a simulator to use a simulator. Even better is how the actual simulator is just a lengthy ad in the form of an obnoxious video game.

Basic Rocket Science, the fourth episode of Season 2, proves why Community IS the best comedy on television right now.

Not only is it cinematic in it's approach and look, but it's ambition is sky high. This episode especially was quite magnificent, and probably amazing the show's best. I still have the rest of season two to watch and the last few episodes of Season One, but already I feel like this is at the top, even higher than what I considered an unstoppable comedy- Modern Family. I cannot wait for this season to come out on DVD, and hopefully the rest of this season is this imaginative and this funny and entertaining.

At one point the "rocket" is shown with a CGI moon in the sky. The right side of the moon is visible, but the sun is obviously shining from the left side of the scree. Unfortunately, it is a little mistake that really takes you out of the story, and they would have been better leaving the moon out altogether.

One of my favorite episodes in the series it's such a neat premise with some good twists and turns
