    What the?

Angela givesabsolutely awful advice! In truth if ANYONE asks you to do something that you are not comfortable with, whether or not it's illegal, or will physically hurt you. You absolutely should say no. Until you discuss it and are both eager or at least willing to try, and have clearly defined your boundaries and trust your partner will respect them. You should not just do it because your partner wants it and you love them. Love is a partnership, not a dictatorship.

OK--I'll Try to Take It Seriously

Valentine's Day is two days away at the writing of this. I once got in big trouble for forgetting it. So I can see the urgency here, misguided as it was. But I did enjoy a couple of things. Poor Hodgins. His first two gifts were nice and would have sufficed, but the final one was just weird enough. Cam and her guy are rolling in the conspicuous consumption vat. He is over the top. But the best gift of all came at the end and it was a total surprise. Brennan is making inroads to a relationship by just thinking in kind, unconventional ways. Booth is forlorn and tired of all the attention from other concerning his breakup. Very good.

    Valentine's Day episode :)

    Hi bones booth!

I always love this episode. I think it does a good job of making sure we remember booth is sad / cranky about the Hannah stuff so it doesn't just move on like that never happened. I think the case itself is pretty decent - love the twist of the affair and then EXTRA LOVE bones "acting". I like when she said "who do I get to be" it sounded like she was so excited LOL. I also love when she breaks character saying "I was good" after he confesses. That scene alone I love!

Love everyone's little Valentine's Day stories and what they are all doing. I think hodgins gift was anticlimactic though for dragging us through the other bad gifts lol.

    CLARK THO.... Wowzers! Lolololoo

I love bones showing up to the gun range with the rifles.. but I know it's been mentioned before, both never had protective eyewear or anything on and in this scene we even see bones putting on hers! But I love how the ending scene is sweet and doesn't jump back in to too much tension right away with those 2.

    For the romantics out there....

My first time seeing this episode. Well, my first time watching this series to be more exact. An episode loaded with heart. It holds a bit of every scenario so many of us "average souls" have experienced as we live life. I've never been a romantic, or at least I never felt I was, I'm more the rahrrr, action go get the bad guys type, but this episode truly stirred my heart and motivated me to share. Of course, you'll want to see the series from beginning to this point to really understand the dynamics going on here, but even if you don't, I think it'll be an episode that shares perspective on so many of the human emotions that people experience throughout their lives.

    Very touching.

    Happy Valentine's Day Massacre

I'm a bit confused by Hodgins mentioning to Cam that he got Angela a necklace 'Christmas before last'. I know there was a 7 month gap between seasons 5 and 6 but does that mean that there have been two Christmases since the one we saw in season 5? And if so, how would Cam know about or have remembered the necklace he was talking about? Unless Hodgins and Angela went back to DC for Christmas instead of spending it in Paris? I know it was just a throwaway line to move the B plot along but it got me thinking way too much about the Bones timeline and now my head hurts.

Outside of that, this is a pretty fun episode, I love that Cam is putting a completely implausible timeline on the solving of the murder, and the running gag of Brennan declining Valentine's Day plans - even from Bunsen Jude the Science Dude (in the extended version) - is great. And I actually think Brennan's acting has gotten better since her "we're going to Bethesda!" days. The scene of Clark and Nora at the end is a bit cringe though, I must say.

I also find it a bit hard to believe that Hodgins is finding it this difficult to get Angela something for Valentine's Day when he managed to get her a rather beautiful Secret Santa gift back in season 1.

    Guest star corner!

The actress who plays Raina, the bride, also plays the main villain in season 7 of The Vampire Diaries whose name is also Rayna (different spellings but still a cool coincidence).

Dr. Jack Hodgins: [showing Clark a 'tear vase' gift for Angela] Gave them to the Pharoah's slaves when they were buried with him in the pyramid.

Dr. Clark Edison: To cry into?

Dr. Jack Hodgins: Mmm. Cause they were so sad that the Pharoah was gone.

Dr. Clark Edison: Oh, I'm thinking they were crying because they were slaves and they're being buried alive.
