The end has come too soon.

    Oh why...

Finally, there was a show that was perfect for me. I love the wait of a week between each episode and especially with this type of series, where cliffhangers are oft-repeated. Finally, I had something to look forward to on a Tuesday.

    But now, it has ended..

But what an end it was! Shock and emotion are the two things this finale provoked in me. The shock was ironic because I knew I would be shocked, nevertheless it came as a surprise, if that makes any sense. I especially loved the use of tense music in various acts, where the only sounds to be heard were sudden abstract sounds, which increased the enjoyment as it made me feel so much more uncertain and uncomfortable about the whole situation, in the best possible way.

In the end, justice was served and the characters got what they deserved, in the good way as well as the bad way.

This was definitely one of the best series of 2014 and one of the best criminal drama/comedies of the last 10 years.

Please, please, please let there be Season 2.

Explosive closure to one of the greatest mini-series in recent history!

When this series started, I was skeptical about how much it would achieve. Now, after 10 pitch-perfect episodes, I stand corrected. This series has done the impossible. It has crawled out of the shadow of the Fargo that gave birth to it and has carved its own identity. This is Hawley's Fargo.

Gripping and satisfying, the finale was brilliant throughout. Some part of me was expecting the appearance of a wood-chipper somewhere but Morton's Fork had more poetic ends in store though still with their fair shares of blood, gore and unrelenting suspense.

What I really liked about this series was the juxtaposition. One one hand the life is calm, unassuming, almost naive in the small town of Duluth and on the other there are dark forces prowling through the residents of this town who are oblivious to these forces until the very end.

The bloody game of chess between Malvo and Nygaard utilized these people as pawns and was very satisfying but I must add that the checkmate left a little to be desired.

All in all, I loved this series. The acting, writing, cinematography and, of course, the music were all top-notch. One of those series that I would gladly rewatch over and over again until I get bored, which I probably never will.

My favourite of the three first seasons

This one is for me the the best season of the three first. I have not seen the fourth yet; it was supposed to be aired on Netflix and it seemed to have failed. But I will watch it later. Back to this one, the FARGO the movie spirit and atmosphere is well followed and the ending is awesome. Unfortunately the second season was totally spoiled by a bad ending, it deceived me so much. The third is OK, just in the middle in my personal rate. Billy Bob Thornton and the other lead character are in the perfect adequate roles.

    So so perfect

I so loved the Fargo movie. It never gets old. This series carries on the vibe and black humour of that movie but it is its own presentation. The writing is first class. To take on the movie and turn it into a series takes a lot of guts. Billy Bob is simply magnificent in this. He is cool as Bad Santa but a lesson should be learned when writing screenplays. You don't have to swear to be menacing. I wish Hollywood would get that because they have put out a lot of dross lately. Bad Santa 2 being a prime example IMHO. Just filth meant to be comedy. At least the original had a bit of heart. But I think this is Thornton's best work. Martin Freeman is incredible. Also his best. I always love his work but he has shown if he is challenged with material he can really step up. He got huge Kudos for Sherlock and he has even gotten better as far as I am concerned. Alison is wonderful as Molly and is a character similar to Francis McDormand's Oscar winning role. She does the role proud. In this episode two things stood out. Bob Odenkirk's speech about how he felt and his future. He is one hell of an actor. Molly's speech to Lester about throwing the second glove out of the train. If you get that you get the pair. Lester was confused but this was saying if you get either Lester or Lorne you get both. Really brilliant writing and I am in awe. I am about to watch Season 2 and I am drooling at the thought.

    • Trivia
The music used at the end is taken from Carter Burwell's score for Fargo (1996). In both cases, it's played over the main characters watching television as life returns to normal.
    • Goofs
When Lester tries to order a beer at Lou's, Lou tells him "Sorry, family place". However in an earlier episode beer can be seen on the menu board hanging on the wall behind the counter.
    • Quotes

Lester Nygaard: You know, I'm not sure what it is that you've had against me since day one. But I am not the person you think I am, this... this kind of monster.

Molly Solverson: There was a fella once, running for a train. And he's carrying a pair of gloves, this man. He drops a glove on the platform, but he doesn't notice. And then later on, inside the train, he's sitting by the window and he realizes that he's just got this one glove left. But the train's already started pulling out of the station, right? So what does he do?

      [Lester shrugs, shakes his head]

Molly Solverson: He opens the window and he drops the other glove onto the platform. That way, whoever finds the first glove can just have the pair.

Lester Nygaard: [confused] So... what are you telling me?

      [pause]

      Molly Solverson: Goodbye, Mr. Nygaard.

      Lester Nygaard: ...Goodbye, Deputy.
