Well, the acting was just fine but I'm amazed that it was a rating of 8/10 and the other reviews all stated how great the film was but I didn't get that from it at all! I have to say that I watched about 30-40 minutes of it straight and then I started fast forwarding it and never found anything that I liked!

I should have known because it's happened a few times that when I watch a fairly new movie that's rated very high, I don't end up liking it. Maybe it was just me...

I loved this film. It's pretty rare to watch a movie where the camera choices are purposely reserved so that the actors' performances are front, center, and exposed. I felt like every moment was earned, and when a new character comes into the scene, you can feel the whole mood of the room change. There are relationship dynamics that are so grounded, you can't help but side with one, then side with the other, then have to decide for yourself what's right. It's pretty amazing to be moved to tears because you were so invested in the moments earned. In an age of "if it's not streaming, it's not worth buying" I say purchase and re-watch this every year!

Really enjoyed this movie! Powerful performances, well-constructed plot, craftly written, engaging story and characters with depth that make you want to know more about them. Each character lays bare their own flaws with complementary performances that, work flawlessly off each other with an easy flow. The conflicts are portrayed with authentic edginess. The cinematography is beautifully done, well shot and the scenery is gorgeous. The original score by Chris Mulkey stands out and truly adds to the overall authentic feel of this film. A good wrapped up ending. Well done on every level, enjoyable film, highly recommended.

I watched this film at DWF: LA. Most realistic festival family dramas fall flat for me, this one didn't. This had great production value and a narrative that was easy to follow.

This incredibly shot drama had gorgeous composed shots in a breathtaking location. I want to live where this was filmed, or at least have a time share! The drone shots played perfect in establishing the world in which this film takes place.

I understood and believed the actors in their grounded and "realistic" performances. Great performances across the board.

For those that want a more mature family drama, this will be right up your alley!

INHERITANCE was excellent! I was VERY impressed, and I'm a picky moviegoer. The story was well-written, and the plot was engaging from the first scene. Sometimes indie movies can be pretentious and indulgent, but the director kept just the right balance between moving the story along and delivering the character beats that made us care about them. I thought all the actors gave a grounded and believable performance. I'm amazed at how well-matched the teen characters were to their adult counterparts. And the shots were beautifully composed without being distracting. A very moving story. Well done!
