I really like the show and find most of the stories to be quite engaging. Unlike other shows, like Midsommer Murders, there is a believably ending to why the murder happened.
I just wish that there would be more screen time given to the other characters as well so there is more of a feel of a team effort. Too much attention is placed on the Vera character.
Other characters come and go and there is no mention of what happened to them. I really liked Shep's character and am somewhat disappointed that there was no explanation of what happened to her.
Oh well.

A strong end to series 7.
The usual twists and turns, good storyline, characters with depth and the dark humour you come to expect from the show.
Again, the new desire to show off-kilter camera angles is a bit off-putting but the good storyline sees the episode through.
The body of a young woman is found buried, the locals are quick to condemn her parents.
It's an enjoyable closing episode to Series seven, if I'm honest I preferred the other episodes in this series, but it does have its merits.
It's a good story, the poor girl has an interesting backstory, and there are plenty of suspects, we've had a group of migrant workers implicated before, we don't get to learn quite so much about these guys.
It opens up with some exquisite landscape shots, and quickly gets j to the story, it is well paced, and far from slow.
A few chuckles, Steve Evets is great as PC Gary Tovey, and the great scene where Vera is asked about her hat.
Not a favourite of mine, but still it's very good, 7/10.

We are back to a windswept Northumberland as the body of missing teenager, Mia Hinkin is found. She lived in a remote farmhouse with her strict parents who are hard hit by the loss of their daughter.
Vera investigates with the help of Policeman George Wooten from Missing Persons. Petty soon the suspects are lining up, Mia might had stern parents but she aroused interest from a string of men and looked to escape from her hemmed in life.
The nearby farms are worked on by migrant labourers and Vera wants to makes sure they are legal as well as being potential suspects.
This was an engaging episode because of the wide pool of suspects and it zipped along nicely. I was startled by actor Steve Evets doing a Geordie accent as PC Wooten. He usually does broad Mancunian.
