What a waste
Another boring biopic. Bollywood you need to learn when to stop. We are done now with these same old biopics. This movie has nothing entertaining.
Acting was average. Script was poor. Music worst.

Pathetic performance Of Taapsee
FAILS TO DELIVER- devoid of hard hitting & engrossing drama while the screenplay is far stretched. The lead doesn't look like Mithali Raj nor her mannerisms justifies the character. Cricketing scenes are poorly executed with no elevating & inspiring moments.
Feel good sports drama
Feel good sports drama about underdog stories we can relate. Srijit Mukherji couldn't avoid its cliché-ridden but sincere childhood moments in first half was kinda hard to resist. Taapsee did all the cricket scores with her emotional actions and expressions.
Very well written film
The film is very well written with the storyline focusing on women's cricket receiving recognition through the eyes of Mithali raj. The bharatnatyam reference is brilliant and her childhood story is intriguing. The music although could have been a little better.
Needed a better direction!
"Shabaash Mithu": For this film I have a mixed opinion, although it's a good opinion, but it just doesn't have the spark.
A praiseful and proud film, the biography of Mithali Raj, India's former cricketer.
The movie was divided into 2 phases: first, Mithali's childhood, and second, when she was old enough to be qualified for the Indian cricket team.
So, as we revisit mithali's childhood, it was the best sequence of the film; it was adorable and really enjoyable. I wish that a whole movie of her childhood or a similar movie of those actresses who played child Mithali and Noorie should be made. Even at some point there was an immediate transition to her older self without any hints or headings that they were going to do a time jump, which made me think that maybe even the directors were actually enjoying filming her childhood so much that they just forgot the plot and moved on with her childhood story.
Now the second phase was pretty bland; the screenplay was also lazy, with no music or memorable music, not even a background score, which was definitely needed. The story was passive, and due to all this, you will not connect well to the story.
So it is between a timepass and going for it! But overall a timepass film, but I would suggest that you should definitely watch till her childhood story is shown! That was great.
