The experience of Lindy Booth in the domain of Hallmark Christmas films makes things very clear and very easy. Her eyes , her smile are enough for each new role. The cliches are the same, the cheesy scenes are not different, the library is at its fair place. Trevor Donovan is...just good looking. That is the good point and the bad point , too, in this case. Because his best contribution is the presence. Any effort of the viewer to discover the football player is wast of time and attention. But the story is generous and he makes only the necessary. Andrew Dunbar gives a very funy Peter Pan syndrom example Graham, Caitlin Stryker is the fair Diana but the motif to see the film, the real motif is the couple proposed by Ed Marinaro and Lynda Boyd. Short, for me, like so many other Hallmark films, nice represents the high calificative. Or, maybe, more proper, comfortable.
Good Actress, Lindy Booth, and good casting saves this. I'm not a fan of Trevor Donovan, but he was right for this part of a star quarterback. He was tall and athletic at least. Lindy Booth is a talented actress. I liked her in this. I also enjoyed the casting of Joe Theisman as a sports agent and Ed Marinaro as Lindy's dad and a retired coach.
Is it possible that Ms. Booth didn't star in a Christmas movie in 2018? Thank goodness they've put her in a winter movie.
Lindy Booth's ability to show sadness and sparkling hopefulness in her enchanting eyes at the same time lifts this work above the ordinary.
Unfortunately, the male lead is just a handsome block of clay, unable to portray even the simplest emotion.
As usual though, the supporting actors do a fantastic job with what screen time they get.
Caitlin Stryker as the best friend is a joy to watch, as is Lynda Boyd.
And it was a kick to see Hill Street Blues star Ed Marinaro again.
The two main characters seem more believable together than some movie couples. Her friend (and she) wouldn't be telling so many people she is pregnant if she only found out a week ago. There is a silent scene in which they communicate a lot without saying anything, which is unusual especially for a Hallmark movie.

- TriviaWhen Jake's agent (Joe Theismann) is talking to Jake about scripts, he puts his hand on a stack of scripts. The top one is Love on the Sidelines (2015) . This movie also had Joe Theismann and the team in that movie was also the Miners.
- GoofsWhen Jake and Samantha are making snow angels, their entire backs, head to toe, are lying in the snow. Immediately after they are done and Jake pulls Samantha to stand up it shows her from behind. There is not a flake of snow on her, even her wool hat, which would be coated in snow in reality. There is only a quick shot of him from that angle, but he has no snow on him either.
