Black Candle was formed in 1994 and was one of the first black metal bands from Luxembourg.
The band started rehearsing without a drummer and consisted at the time
by vocalist Dark Lord Tenebrus (aka Simon), Azael (guitar) and Thummiel (second guitar).
Thummiel left Black Candle to form his own band Sargatanas back in 1996.
Some weeks later Simon and Azael met a drummer called Shadow, who soon joined them.
The demo "My Black Sky" was released in March 1996 featuring five tracks, created during rehearsals of 1994-1996.
In 1997 Azael left the band due to lack of interest
and Simon was forced to play the guitar and the bass making Black Candle a two-piece.
Second demo "Winter Of Wrath" was materialized as a result of band's first studio experience.
Shortly after bass player Lord Mogon joined Simon and Shadow and their first gig in Germany was performed.
On November Black Candle entered the studio again to record the track "Meeting With The Beast".
This song was featured on the 1998 Shiver Records compilation "Sometimes Death Is Better Part 5-9".
Soon after, disinterested Lord Mogon quitted and the band lost their rehearsal place in Luxembourg.
These events combined with lack of support from local music scene caused one-year hiatus for Black Candle.
Shadow took part in the act called Vinsval, while Simon joined German the band Pagan Winter as a singer.
Black Candle and Pagan Winter were featured on the compilations "Germanische Tyrannen" (Frontfire Distribution, 1998)
and "A Taste Of Blood" (Mortuary Khage Productions, 1998).
In the late 1998 new rehearsal room was found and line-up was completed with Phosphoros (lead guitar) and Fallen (bass). In 1999, "Nightfire" was recorded during two days (August 1998) and released via Pagan Winter Productions.
In 2002 during many line up changes "The Faceless Angel" album was released
with the support of Burhuc ASBL (local concert promoter) and Pagan Winter Productions.
Between 2002-2004 a lot of gigs were performed in Luxembourg, France and Germany.
In 2004 the demo "From The Deepest Level" (limited to 30 copies) was released
followed by a promo-single containing two tracks in 2005.
"Lead Me To The Tombs" album consisting of eight new tracks
and re-recorded versions of "Meeting The Beast" and "My Black Sky" was finished in early 2006.
By 2007 all members of the band were busy with their side-projects
and also everyone had their own opinion about the future direction of Black Candle.
As a result band split up in June 2007.
Black Candle reunited in 2009 as a duo (Simon - all instruments, Styxx - vocals)
but it didn't last long because Styxx died of leukemia in June 7, 2009.
Creation of new full-length album (which serves as dedication to deceased Styxx) began in 2012
and released by the label Possession Productions in August 30, 2013 under the title "Smoke And Monoliths".
Two more albums followed, "Lost Light Of The North" in 2016, and "Trees In Space" in 2020, before their disbanding in 2024.

In 2010 Pursan reactivated Angrenost without Ainvar but with two new members,
Erdsaf (Bass, Drum programming) and Enobólico (Guitars, Maldição, Murmúrio, Wavelength Satan).
After a deal established with the Italian label Code666 Records,
in 2013 Angrenost released their debut album "Planet Muscaria".
In "Planet Muscaria" their sound differentiated into a more cold industrial/ambient/black metal
and their lyrics explored the psychological depths of human psyche and the miserable side in the human existence.
In 2017 they released on Altare Productions the album "Nox Et Hiems" this time with W.uR (Israthoum, Monte Penumbra)
replacing Enobólico on guitars and their style changing again into a more traditional black metal sound

Around the same time he recorded a demo of two songs for his other project Strigoi Mort that was released in winter 1996.
The aforementioned 5 tracks were recorded in 1996 and mixed at Sound Ateljee studios

for the first Kyprian's Circle demo entitled "In The Mystique Of The Moonbeams" using a drum machine.
Soon after the release Kyprian began gathering material for the next demo.
Four songs were completed with the style of music being now more mature and the tempo having slowed down a bit.
This time he wanted to use a real drummer, so Abyssin joined in as well a bass player,

whereas Shatraug (Horna) and Nazgul (Horna, Pest) took over the vocal duties.
With this line up in the beginning of 1997 the second demo entitled "The Nightwind Tunes"

Coil were an English experimental music group, founded in 1982 by John Balance in London.
Initially envisioned as a solo project by lead singer and songwriter Balance (born Geoffrey Burton
while he was in the band Psychic TV, Coil evolved into a full-time project with the addition of Peter Christopherson,
a former member of pioneering industrial group Throbbing Gristle who became Balance's creative and personal partner.
Throughout the group's existence, Balance and Christopherson were the only constant members.
Coil worked in such genres as industrial, noise, ambient and dark ambient, neo-folk, spoken word, drone, and minimalism, treating their works more as magical rituals than as musical pieces
and becoming the forefront of European experimentalism and electronic music.
In 1985, the group began working on a series of soundtracks, among them music for the first Hellraiser movie
based on the novel The Hellbound Heart by their acquaintance at that time, Clive Barker.
Unfortunately Coil withdrew from the project when they suspected their music would not be used
as the production company wanted a more commercial soundtrack and Christopher Young was their man of choice.
Furthermore, Coil claimed inspiration for Pinhead was partly drawn from the PFIQ (Piercing Fans International Quarterly) magazines that director Barker borrowed from the group.
In 1987 the 10'' EP "The Unreleased Themes For Hellraiser" (subtitled "The Consequences Of Raising Hell") was released
with printed notes on sleeve by Clive Barker stating:
"The only group I've heard on disc, whose records I've taken off because they made my bowels churn."
The CD edition entitled "Hellraiser Themes" was released later in 1990 and featured three extra unreleased tracks.
With the passing of Balance on 13 November 2004 Christopherson decided that Coil would not continue.
Six years later Christopherson died in his sleep on 24 November 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Through that period they released two demos.
In 1994 they changed, for a short period, their name to Helheim before going into Solhverv.
In 1995 their demo cd "Gravlandets Vogtere" was released and in 1996 their first full length album "Tågernes årtusinde
was issued through Euphonious Records.
A split with Nidhug called "Akustiske Ekko Af Fortiden" was also planned for 1997 but this was never happened.
After their disbanding two compilations were released with unreleased/rehearsal material.
