Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my blogging friends!

I have decided not to make any quilting goals this year, mainly because I still plan to focus a lot on Genealogy.  I do have some plans like finish a couple of projects I have in the works and to make a quilt for Kierra and her husband and to make Mr. B a new one.  He did request a new quilt.  I didn't finish all I had planed for 2010 but I am good with that.  What I was working on was more important.  Plus that stocking took a lot of time, but it was appreciated and that is all that matters.

Fall Table Topper
Today after taking the tree down, doing the grocery shopping and having dinner with Mr. B.  I was able to sit down and finish the binding on the Fall Table Topper I started it in October or November.  I really like the pattern and I would like to make it again.
I just remembered I do have one goal to make my give away quilt sooner!

Happy Stitching!

Thanksgiving 2010

The Living Room crowd
We hard a marvelous day yesterday and sure we had plenty to eat.  We decided to do Thanksgiving here at my house instead of my Sister-in-Law, Judy's home.  Of the possible 40 guest I could have had I had 18.  Those that couldn't come because of other commitments and sickness where missed by the rest of us.

We pull out of the gargage two banquet tables to fit everyone at a table.  I only purchased one paper table cloth that my Mr. B. thought was less than ideal.  He thought they should be all cloth, funny guy!  I might have to find some fall fabric on sale and make another one.

Dinning room group

My plan was to take photos as everyone came in, but their hands were all full of food, so I cancelled that idea. I don't like to stop visiting to take pictures but if you don't stop you don't have pictures.  So I stopped eating to take a few shots.  The first shot of the living room crowd they all hide their faces.  I didn't make them post nice, but I didn't want them hiding either.  I should have taken this one from a different angel so I could have Kierra our daughter in the photo.

The Man Cave group

We even pressed the man cave into service and had a table there.   Isn't our great niece a little cutie, and holding her own with all those boys.  I think the paper cloth looks just fine.  We borrowed the folding chairs from church in case you are wondering do I really have that many chairs.

Everyone had a nice time, but couldn't stay long to visit since they all had other dinners and families to visit.  That is why we eat at 1230.

A New Project

Be Thankful

OK I know I am crazy but I started a new project today.  I saw the pattern a couple of weeks ago and the pattern just called to me.  I had stopped in a quilt shop I hadn't been in for a couple of years.  I was thinking I don't have that many Thanksgiving quilts, especially compared to my collection of Halloween and Christmas quilts. It is called "Be Thankful"  by Cottage Creek Quilts.    I still have three pieced borders to do and some hand embroidery.  It is just so cute, I am loving it!  I just now checked out the website and there are lots of cute patterns there.

Table Topper

I was also able to finish quilting the Fall Table Topper.  I still need to cut the binding on the biases and sew it on but that is for another day.  The binding is going to be a dark brown.  It felt strange to be sitting and quilting on my table top machine.  I wanted to do some stitching in the ditch which is why I was at my table top machine.  I decided the borders needed something, so I did free motion on the borders.  Boy is that awkward after doing it on a frame.  The quilting doesn't show in the picture.

Table Topper and Runner

Halloween Table Runner
I was able to finish the binding on my copy of the Halloween table runner and I have it on my living room coffee table.  Since we don't drink coffee my husband, Mr. B. likes to call it the "Pepsi Table".  I don't like that name since I don't drink or like Pepsi.  So anyway it's on that small table in the living room and it looks very nice and festive.

Rosie's copy didn't sell at her daughter's boutique but I am going to save it for next year's boutique.

I have started the 2nd side of the binding on the Mystical Horses quilt.  I am looking forward to hanging that on my quilt rack.

Thanksgiving Table Topper
I took a PTO day today just because I needed an extra day off.  I pieced this little table topper today.  It really worked up quickly, considering I was also watching all my taped TV shows from last week.  This is from Little Charmers IV by Anka's Treasures.  I didn't use a charm pack, I just used fabric it I had on hand.

Added a border to Caribbean Sea

I had seen a star quilt in a shop that had a floating star border, and I really liked it how it looked and I thought it would look good on my Caribbean Sea Quilt.  Since I do need to make it big enough for a queen size bed another border won't hurt.  I will have to add some extra rows of blocks but I like how the star border looks, just in the corners.

I am really tired tonight so I am going to call it a day!

Happy Stitching!
