Is the MiniPay Card a debit card or a credit card?
The MiniPay Card is a digital Visa debit card, not a credit card. You can only spend from the available balance connected to your MiniPay wallet.
How do I get MiniPay?
MiniPay is available for download on the Google Play Store, on iOS Testflight, and as a feature of Opera Mini browser.
Are these real bank accounts?
They are verified receiving details that function exactly like a local bank account for the purpose of receiving payments in USD and EURO. They are provided by NOAH and payments, land in MiniPay as USDT/USDC stablecoins ready to spend or withdraw.
Is the MiniPay Card a physical card?
No. The MiniPay Card is currently digital-only.
What do you mean by “MiniPay is a dollar wallet”?
MiniPay enables quick and secure dollar-based digital transactions using USDC, USDT, and cUSD stablecoins.
How long does it take to get my virtual account details?
Once your details are verified, your virtual account details are typically generated instantly so you can start sharing them immediately
Do I need a bank account to use the MiniPay Card?
No traditional bank account is required to use the MiniPay Card. The card is designed to connect your MiniPay balance to real-world card payments.
Is a Google Account required to use MiniPay?
Yes, a Google Account is required to activate and back up your MiniPay wallet.
How long does it take for a payment to arrive?
SEPA (EUR) payments are usually instant. ACH (USD) payments can take up to 1-2 business days. The exact time depends on the sender's bank
Does the merchant need to accept crypto?
No. You can use the card with any Merchants who accepts payments through Visa. They do not need to accept crypto.
Why is a Google Account required?
Your Google Account is required to ensure secure access and account recovery options.
Are there any fees for receiving payments?
There are no deposit fees for receiving funds into your virtual USD or EUR account in MiniPay. Fee-free withdrawals to local currency are also available through third-party providers
Which currencies does MiniPay support?
MiniPay supports dollar stablecoins such as USDT, USDC on Celo.
How do I add funds to MiniPay?
Top up and withdrawals in MiniPay are provided by third-party providers. You can top up your MiniPay wallet by clicking the add cash button on your home screen, entering the amount and following the instructions using any of the available integrated partners. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate local currency in settlings.
Which countries is the MiniPay Card available in?
The MiniPay Card is available in selected supported markets. If the card is available in your country, you will find the onboarding process in the card tab.
Can I change my phone number?
Yes, you can change your phone number by clicking on the settings icon on the top right corner of your wallet home screen —>Click on the pen icon next to your phone number, authenticate with your PIN and change your number.
Do I need identity verification to get the MiniPay Card?
Identity verification is dependent on your country of residence and the requirements of the card programme. You will be guided through the process in the MiniPay app.
How can I restore my MiniPay?
Minipay is a simple, self-custodial wallet . Your wallet keys are stored securely on your device in the Android Keystore, which is protected by your phone locking mechanism. They are also automatically backed-up to a special locker inside your own Google Drive, for ease of recovery.
Can I use the MiniPay Card while traveling?
Yes. The MiniPay Card is designed for global spending wherever Visa is accepted, subject to merchant acceptance, available balance, card status, country restrictions, and applicable programme rules.
How can I withdraw my funds from MiniPay?
Top up and withdrawals in MiniPay are provided by third-party providers. You can withdraw funds from MiniPay to your local currency and preferred payment method by clicking on withdraw in your wallet home screen, and following the instructions and prompts using any of the integrated ramp partners.
How do I get the MiniPay Card?
Open MiniPay and follow the card onboarding flow when the card is available in your market.
What is a wallet key?
A wallet key is a secret, alphanumeric string of characters that grants you access to your wallet and allows you to authorize transactions.
How long does it take to get the MiniPay Card?
Eligible users can complete setup quickly in under a minute However, our service provider reserves the right to conduct additional checks if the information provided is incomplete or suspicious.
How are my wallet keys stored?
Your wallet keys are encrypted and stored locally on your device as well as backed up in your Google account.
Can I add the MiniPay Card to Apple Pay/ Google Pay?
Yes. The MiniPay Card is compatible with both Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Can I delete the app and restore my wallet using my Google Account?
Yes, you can restore your wallet using your Google Account if you reinstall the app.
Can I view my card details in MiniPay?
Your card details can be viewed securely in the MiniPay app. Always keep your card number, expiry date, CVV, OTPs, and any security codes private.
Can I see my wallet keys?
Yes you can find your secret recovery phrase by clicking the settings icon in the top right corner of your wallet home screen —> About —> Secret recovery phrase.
Which assets can I use with the MiniPay Card?
MiniPay supports dollar stablecoins such as USDT, USDC on Celo. Supported assets and networks may vary, so always check the latest instructions in the app before sending funds.
Who has access to my funds?
Only you have access to your funds through your secure Google Account login.
Can I deposit from an exchange?
Yes. You can add funds from an exchange to MiniPay with zero fees.
Can Opera help me recover my funds if I lose my phone and access to my Google Account?
Opera does not have access to your wallet. It's important to recover your Google Account for access.
Can I top up with local currency?
MiniPay supports local currency funding options across over 60 countries through third-party providers.
I’ve made a mistake and sent money to the wrong person, can you help me?
Unfortunately, once a transaction is initiated, it cannot be reversed. Please ensure you verify the recipient's details before sending.
Where can I use the MiniPay Card?

Why do I need to do my fingerprint/face/pin code unlock before sending a payment?

Yes, you can use the MiniPay card for online payments and subscriptions where Visa debit cards are accepted. Make sure you have enough available balance when each recurring payment is due.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your funds are secure as long as no one else gains access to your device and Google Account.
Can merchants see that I am using stablecoins?
No. Merchants see a standard card payment through Visa. They do not need to accept or process crypto.
What happens if I delete the app?
If you reinstall MiniPay and log in with your Google Account, your wallet will be restored.
Are there foreign transaction fees?
MiniPay does not charge any fees for the card. However, if you make a purchase in a currency that is not USD, Visa exchange rates may apply.
What is the card settlement currency?
The MiniPay Card transaction settlement currency is USD.
What happens if I lose access to my Google Account?

What is cUSD?
cUSD is a stablecoin on the Celo blockchain, designed to maintain a stable value equivalent to the US Dollar.
Which exchange rate is used for non-USD purchases?

What is a stablecoin?
A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency that is designed to have a stable value, often pegged to a fiat currency like the US Dollar.
Are there card issuance fees?
No, the MiniPay card is free to activate.
What is local currency mode?
Local currency mode allows you to view balances and conduct transactions in your native currency, with conversions handled automatically.
Are there monthly card fees?
No, there are no monthly card fees or subscriptions for the MiniPat card.
How do I invite family and friends to MiniPay?
You can invite people to download MiniPay by clicking the settings icon in the top right corner of the wallet home screen —>Invite friends —> copy or share the invite link with them on any messaging channel of your choice.
Are there card and spending limits?
Yes, spending limits may apply. You can view applicable card limits in the MiniPay app. If you cannot find them, contact MiniPay support.
I have received a payment, how can I tell who it’s from?
By tapping on the transaction in your activity, you can view transaction details including sender's information like their Google account name and phone number as well as a button to load a Blockchain receipt.
Does the MiniPay Card offer cashback?
Yes. Eligible MiniPay Card purchases are eligible for 5% cashback paid in Tether Gold and stablecoins. You can find more information about the cashback here.
Does MiniPay charge fees?
While MiniPay itself doesn't charge fees, there are very low network fees (typically less than $0.01) charged on every transaction. These fees go towards the maintenance of the Celo blockchain.
What is cashback paid in?
Cashback may be paid in digital gold or stablecoins, depending on your region and the applicable cashback terms.
How are fees calculated?
Fees are typically determined by network congestion and transaction type. The app will display relevant fees before confirmation.

Do I need to opt in to cashback?
Using the MiniPay Card may mean you agree to the applicable cashback terms. If you do not want to participate, check the cashback terms or contact support through the MiniPay app.
Why is MiniPay using cUSD/USDT/USDC and not my local currency?
MiniPay automatically stores user funds a dollar stablecoin either USDT, cUSD or USDC whose value pegged to the US Dollar. However, users can switch between to local currency mode to view an approximate value of their wallet balance as well as transactions.
Can I get a refund to my MiniPay Card?
Refunds should generally be returned to the original card when processed by the merchant. Timing depends on the merchant, Visa network, and card issuer processing.
What do you mean by “all local currency amounts are approximate”?
Due to potential fluctuations in exchange rates, the displayed local currency amounts are estimates and may vary slightly from the actual market rate.
What should I do if I do not recognize a card transaction?
Freeze your card immediately in the MiniPay app, review your recent activity, and contact MiniPay support through the app. If you have lost your phone and need to freeze your card, please email us at minipay@support.opera.com with the subject line: [URGENT] Lost Phone - Freeze Card.
Can I request money from abroad using MiniPay? Can this be used for remittance?
Yes, MiniPay can be used to send money between 53 countries worldwide. All payments are settled in 5 seconds and cost less than $0.01 in fees.
Can I freeze my MiniPay Card?
Yes. You can freeze and unfreeze your MiniPay Card in the card tab in MiniPay app. If you have lost your phone and need to freeze your card, please email us at minipay@support.opera.com with the subject line: [URGENT] Lost Phone - Freeze Card.
Is cUSD/USDT/USDC equivalent to a dollar?
Yes dollar stablecoins are designed to have their value pegged to the value of the US Dollar.
Can I restore MiniPay if I delete the app?
Yes. You can restore your MiniPay wallet by reinstalling the app and logging in with the Google or Apple Account connected to your wallet.
Why is the USD exchange rate I am seeing when I try to add cash or withdraw different from the one used in MiniPay?
While stablecoins aims to maintain parity with the US Dollar, the exchange rate used to display the wallet balance is the official rate declared by the Central Bank of that country and may vary from parallel market rates used by various platforms due to market dynamics.

What is Celo?

What happens if someone gets my card details?
Freeze your card immediately in the MiniPay app and contact support. Do not share your card number, expiry date, CVV, OTPs, or any security codes with anyone.
Does MiniPay support Celo Dapps?
Yes, MiniPay supports Celo Dapps.
I paid in EUR, GBP, or another local currency. Why does MiniPay show USD?
The MiniPay Card settlement currency is USD. Purchases in other currencies may be converted using applicable Visa exchange rates and fees.
Is this wallet open-source?
No, MiniPay is not open-source.
My cashback has not arrived. Why?
Cashback may take 30 to 60 days after a confirmed eligible transaction. The transaction may also be pending, refunded, ineligible, excluded by merchant category, or above the monthly cashback cap.
Is this a crypto wallet?
Yes, MiniPay is a dollar stablecoin wallet that runs on the cUSD stablecoin, a digital asset whose value is pegged to the US Dollar.
I used the card but did not get cashback. Why?
The purchase may not be eligible, may have been refunded, may fall under an excluded merchant category, may still be pending, or may exceed the cashback cap. See the Card T&Cs for more information.
What cryptocurrencies are supported by this wallet?

This is not supported.

What are Celo network fees?
Celo network fees cover the cost of processing transactions on the blockchain. They may vary based on network conditions.
Can payments be reverted?
No, once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it cannot be reversed.
How do I report bugs?
You can report any bugs or issues using the Feedback button that you can find in the settings menu in the app.
How do I deposit from an exchange?
Yes, you can add funds to MiniPay from an exchange using your Celo wallet address. Note that the address can only receive cUSD, USDT, and USDC assets on Celo.
Where is my wallet address?
You can find your MiniPay wallet address by clicking Add cash —>scroll to the bottom and click Crypto exchange or wallet.
Can I send to an external wallet or Non Mini-Pay user?
No, you can only send to other Minipay wallets at the moment.
How is MiniPay so fast?
MiniPay leverages the Celo blockchain's efficiency to enable quick, secure transactions.
Can I send to a Valora Wallet?
No, you can only send to other MiniPay wallets at the moment.
I have funds in Valora, can I move them to MiniPay?
If you have funds in your Valora wallet and have Valora installed, you can go to “Add Cash” and tap on the Valora entry. That will open Valora’s send UI with the MiniPay address prefilled.
