Is it fun watching a lvl 100 smurf in the beginner area?
Thats what it feels like these first 30 chapters. No overarching narrative. Every fight ends the same. No challenge or stakes!
Characters- Cha Sungtae/10:
Jaha is pretty generic, there was a lot of opportunity to flesh him out (Oh hes an errand boy for an Inn, who owns the Inn, what happened to his relatives, DID HE HAVE ANY MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS AT ALL) but so far, he is cardboard typical loser-turned- smug regressor mc.
Cha Sungtae is the ONLY character with a personality and who I like. He is at first a sly and arrogant enemy,
...
but after he gets recruited (forcibly) he is shown to be a smooth talking troll who is very capable as a manager. What I enjoy is that he has the most "equal" relationship with the MC, although it is explicitly boss and underling, he can get away with bantering and even insulting MC, which places him above every other character...
...because every other character is either a pushover or fodder.
Art- 8/10:
Its good. yeap.
Story-3/10:
Other than the first chapter, you can ignore everything else, from what it seems to me. Theres no overarching narrative- no revenge quest, golden fleece, no central character drive really. I guess he wants to upgrade his inn? But seems like how he mentioned it, he decided that on a whim? And like, he, so far, has never taken anything serious so I can only assume, like what hes shown so far, is that hes just fucking around like usual.
Humor:
Not my cup of tea. The dialogue seems pretty generic, but I also suspect the shit-talking to be lost in translation how it comes off really awkward.
ALSO I WANT TO POINT OUT HOW CHAPTER 28 IS ENTIRELY FOCUSED ON DIARRHEA. A girl we just met a few chapters ago got drugged my MC, and is now on the brink of shitting herself THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CHAPTER. THERE IS NO CUTAWAY. SHE IS THE PROTAGONIST WE FOLLOW FOR THE ENTIRE CHAPTER. WE WATCH HER GET DRUGGED ALL THE WAY TO SHITTING IN A FIELD AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER. "masterful writing"
TLDR: if you enjoy power fantasys and mindless action
