Very lighthearted, the designs are very well thought out for the characters, although perhaps bordering on too pretty, which IS joked about at one point as well. Manga/anime-common weirdness, but not too much if you're used to it, and overall light read.
I love the girl with her babysitting Dobberman myself, and in those dynamics there's always the risk of it getting weird but I haven't detected it ever going that direction, at least not yet.

The stories are pretty straightforward, although they do start to get more tangled later on, and it gives you a more developed and nuanced set of characters. But it really is ...
