Oh, it's amazing how many people are praising this series....
First of all, this is the most boring and poorly done piece of garbage I've read in a while, to the point where I forgot everything the instant I finished reading it.
The story and characters are something I've seen a million times before, with no creativity or novelty worthy of any praise whatsoever. But that's not the biggest problem. Since I've seen many people praising its art and design (which they rarely talk about much else, because there's nothing to mention), first of all, this manga is a good example of "beautiful pictures" but lacking
...
the proper elements to be a good manga. Okay, I'll mainly complain from an artistic perspective. Of course, the overall art isn't bad, but what's bad is how to make those beautiful arts into "something readable." Yes, this terrible manga has art that is incredibly difficult to read, follow, and distinguish between things. Of course, the characters are also difficult to tell apart because they all look alike in terms of design. And another thing that makes it difficult to follow is the terrible composition and panel layout. It's like you take food from a 5-star hotel, mix it all together in a bucket, and pour it for me to eat. My eyes hurt every time I have to read each page.
All of this, your "good art, good design, good characters" is absolutely shit. This manga is godawful and only low-IQ gooners would defend it because they can't stand to see beautiful female characters but they can't touch them IRL because they're fiction

I guess the people who think this series is good and has the potential to be the new gen Haikyuu or Eyeshield 21 or what the fuck ever, have never touched a good sports manga in their lives.
Wow, I can't believe it. This manga is bland as shit. The writing, characters, dialogue, and every aspect seem to be stolen from popular sports manga, but the creator doesn't understand what made those series good. I guess they just skimmed through those manga and tried to recreate it in a series called "Harukaze Mound"
Even though I hate baseball because it's a boring sport, other aspect are also
...
lacking or excessive. So it's not just about the topic. because there are many good manga with niche topics like Akane Banashi or Hikaru no Go (I haven't read it, but it's probably good enough to succeed). so, what does this manga have? If I don't care about baseball, the answer is nothing. It's terrible and frustrating to see how people with low manga reading skills think this is good.
Let's go through the real reasons why I don't like this manga and even think it's bad, one by one.
1. Characters
The characters in this manga are boring, lack personality, and are unforgettable. I don't know who should I root for because they have nothing to think about. And worst of all, their designs are blander than the noodles I ate at a roadside stall without seasoning. It's terrible that a manga with many characters has character designs that are not diverse and lack distinctive features to tell who is who. And of course, the series fails to develop the many characters introduced. I'll give an example of a character who should be the most prominent, Ibuki, who is clearly a discount Hiruma from Eyeshield 21, but lacks any charm and charisma that Hiruma had. This is because the author doesn't understand what makes the character Hiruma good, other than trying to copy the success of popular series.
If you're going to read this manga for the characters but not for baseball, you've come to the wrong series.
2. The Story
Incredibly empty and lacking substance. Throughout the past 16 chapters, I barely knew what they were doing besides playing baseball, because there was absolutely nothing like that. This manga is no different from watching sports news that's less fun.
3. Art
Good and likely the only thing carrying this crappy series on its shoulders. However, the design is mostly boring for such good art.
4.Overall
Boring, uninspired, unambitious, and empty, 4/10
Only those who have never read an actually good sports manga would think it's good.

Overall, Higanjima is a very weird case for me. The manga seems like complete garbage, with an inconsistent story, characters and their habits that are incredibly stupid and nonsensical, a repetitive plot (I'm amazed it has over 33 volumes with this plot), and overall questionable writing quality. This would be true if you take this manga seriously, but if not, it's an incredibly charming series. You'll enjoy the author's bizarre fetishes, such as peeing fetish, the various and creepy creature designs, and the memorable characters who, despite being stupid and annoying as fuck, I think the author did a good job of giving them appropriate
...
screen time even tho they didn't have much character development (except for the protaginist). And then there's the overpower final boss, Miyabi, who I think is quite charming and well-written compared to antogonists in other series. He never dies, simply because... and the author probably doesn't want the reader to know why he's immortal, because he might think that letting him live forever and repeatedly fuck with the protag group is funnier.
As for the story, it's so absurd it's comical, and that's the perfect charm of this series. If you like watching funny train wrecks, you've come to the right place. The storytelling is no different from a gag manga, no matter how much the author tries to make it serious. There's so much of this kind of thing that I don't know how to describe it all. You should probably just read it yourself.
The art is okay and fits the series' tone well. There's not much to say here.
Whether Higanjima is a good series or not, I think it's definitely bad enough to be good.
I'll give it a 7.5/10 because I like its weirdness, and it's amazing that I know the series has multiple sequels and Miyabi is still alive until now.......

Oh, another exorcist slop? Ummmm....
Yes, I thought the same thing, "Again?" Not to mention the rather lazy title for me, "The Nito Exorcists." It killed a lot of my appetite before I even thought about picking it up.
But there's an old saying, "Don't believe what you see until you've really tried it," and this series truly exceeded my expectations. It's absolutely amazing. In fact, every aspect of this series should have bored me because it's a repetitive urban fantasy story that we see everywhere. But with this series, there's something different that made me more engrossed in it than usual. Let's see what I think
...
and why you shouldn't hesitate to pick it up.
1. Unique aesthetic
Here, I mean many aspects coming together. Let's start with the art. I feel this series is highly abstract, reflected in the art style, such as the concept of creature design. The stronger it is, the more complex it looks, or if it's at a low level, it's like a child's doodle. I find this to be a fresh concept for its genre. and what I like most is that the artists don't want the reader to get bored with the repetitive style or feel stressed by the raw, untamed art all the time. They add funny-looking art, like gag manga expressions, such as characters with silly or sometimes cute faces. These things brought a smile to my face after reading heavy stuff like character drama or some really depressed story.
2. Characters and Story
There's not much that's new about this. It's just the same old things you've seen before, like sword fights, a protagonist whose motivation is revenge, and a simple urban fantasy setting. However, the unique aesthetic and strong storytelling and execution make this series much more intense than it should be. The character drama is well-written and mature enough for post-teen adult like me, making it easy to invest in this very geneirc story. I won't say too much about the characters because I want you to read it for yourselves, but our main duo, the seemingly plain and emotionless black-haired young man and the boisterous bunny-suited girl, have incredible dynamics for a good male-female duo, which is a genre I already enjoy.
If I were to define this series, it would be something that appears simple, geneirc and lacks creativity on the surgace, but is full of deep inner energy and aura.
In conclusion, I really don't want you to miss this. Please read it, I'm begging you. Especially if you're a manga fan like Jujutsu Kaisen or Kagurabachi, this one definitely won't fail you.

This manga... is absolute fucking shit, man. That's what I'm saying. shit's goddamn ass and nothing is memorable and worth for.
Where do I even start... because it's so flawed in every way.
Starting with the characters, oh my motherfucker fucking god, this writer has no concept of characterization at all. It's been a long time since I've read a manga where I couldn't feel the characters like this.
The characters in this series seem like mannequins in a clothing store, moving by someone else's whims. They have no emotions, no depth, no development, no character interactions, and nothing that makes readers want to root for them. As
...
if that weren't enough, the author seriously thinks that making these characters look edgy or like arrogant brats who enjoy belittling others just for sake of it will make readers think they're cool. No, it just makes them even less likable.
The story?, haha. Sorry, there's nothing. It's emptier than the characters, to the point where I can't even find anything to criticize because there's literally nothing to think about, whether good or bad.
Art is another thing that has a lot of issues. I don't know if it's the fault of the writer who drafts the storyboard for the artist or the artist themselves, but it's very important that sports manga, which heavily relies on character and stuff movements, must have a good panel layout and choreography so that readers can easily follow it. but in this series, sometimes, you see a character dribbling the ball in X position, and by the next page, they're in Y position without any explanation of how they got there. It's as if they can use warp.
The stability of the artwork is another issue. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. There's no balance at all, especially in drawing characters. It's really bad. Oh, and let's not forget the terrible character designs. They seem fine at first, but it's very difficult to distinguish who is who.
I can repeat for the millionth time that if you want to read a sports manga, avoid this garbage. Not only is it a waste of time, but it will also make you frustrated reading it.
Don't just fall into the appearance of having an aura or " le cool character moments" Maybe that's all it has, but I don't care. This manga is truly garbage, and I'm genuinely mad that it made it past U19.

After 3 chapters, I've been thinking about this a lot, both positively and negatively.
Gag manga is a hit or miss. I don't hate to read something stupid, dumb, and illogical if it makes me laugh, and I think Nice Prison doesn't do too badly in that regard. Everything is just stupid. Things always happen randomly, like
Prisoners kissing each other
Prisoners making noodles
Prisoners acting like dogs peeing
...
Prisoners clinging to the walls acting like cicadas
Prisoners forcing guards to clean their ears
A convenience store that suddenly pops up in the middle of the prison
Our protagonist uses a chained ball to attack other misbehaving prisoners
The Four Heavenly Kings (one of whom died, lol)
IDK, These shit are so funny to me. However, I think it could have been better. As a big fan of surreal comedy manga, I think it has the potential to be a next Bobobo if the author dares to do something even crazier. (Yes, I don't think it's " batshit insane" enough, I want it to be crazier)
I understand why it receives so much hate from manga fans, but for me, I want it to have 500 chapters so they can fume, seethe & cope & mald over it.
Edit : i raised its score from 5 to 7

I read this with some curiosity because I saw a lot of people praising it as the second Jesus of manga and thought it didn't deserve the axe even though it was 145 chapters.
After I finished reading this, I don't know what most people saw in it, but this series is pretty mediocre, almost substandard, and has an unsatisfying ending. The story and premise were interesting for the first ten chapters or so until the power system was introduced, and the plot leaned more towards the more intense battles, it became a boring read. They seemed deep and complex but were executed so poorly that I
...
was too lazy to pay attention. As I said, the plot and setting were interesting but it turned out to be generic shit that was messy and disjointed, especially the second half which was complete garbage. It was like the author threw shit at the wall to see what would stick until the series ended. The characters were flat and stuck in tropes, especially the antagonists. My fucking god, they were some of the worst antagonists I've read recently. They were introduced so quickly and then left the screen and repeated without any of them being interesting or memorable at all. They're bad guys just because they have to be Hurr durr, I'll destroy the world Blah blah Blah, Oh man shut your fucking mouth already.
The art is pretty average, nothing to praise or criticize
I'm surprised it's lasted this long. I'm gonna give it a 5/10 which is very generous because I see potential in it but it needs better execution and plot/writting decision

New shonen jump series made by famous authors and artists and everyone is praising it like the coming of the second Jesus. So it should be good, right? Hmmmm, I think not.
First of all, this manga has terrible storytelling and pacing. chapters 1-3 were spent on a lot of infodumps and expositions with no actual progress. there is no such thing as a goal, premise, or even a protagonist's motivation other than "I want to hunt" ahh, so what ? that's all ?
Then, in chapter 4, the so-called world-building is introduced. which shows the capital city but then the author threw it away
...
without explaination about it and wasted time with many unnecessary chapters with lame jokes and a few bland characters that I found very boring and had zero impact, nothing, nothing at all, just a fillers after fillers and finally, my patience ran out on this dumb shark chapter that (still) didn't do anything to the story or plot at all and decided to write this review.
Now let's talk about the characters, which is what people praise the most. I myself found them quite funny at first but they got old quickly due to the lack of stakes, tension, consequences. everything is convenient for them just because, and the result is that these characters seem more shallow than they really look
Seriously? why should I care or sympathize about these characters if nothing will happen to them anyway?
I mean, quirky character doesn't mean a good character and this series is an example of that
The setting is incredibly generic and just something I've seen a million times before. people hate exorcist manga and accusing them of being uncreative and uninspired, but of course, they will swallow this sh*t.
In terms of art, I think it's average and not as good as many people say and the action scenes and choreography still need a lot of work
I don't want to call this series "suck" right now, but if it doesn't get better, so I can't help
TLDR : This series has garbage pacing and below-average execution, there no direction, no substance, nothing happens. overrated art with poor action scenes and does not deserve to receive such high praise
Edit : I read up to chapter 11 and this manga is as dumb as ever that i decided to drop it. this series has no substance. there is no direction or plot other than things happening randomly. the characters besides the black woman have no characterization whatsoever and Ichi is an incredibly boring protagonist to me
If this is successful only because the author's (and artist) name is carrying its ass, then shonen jump is done for
Believe me, if something like Iruma that I quit after the first chapter because it was so bad was serialized in shonen jump instead of champion, which is considered the weakest of all Shonen manga magazines, it would definitely be canceled at volume 3.

This might be the most brutal manga review I've ever done.
Now, if you are a fan of this series then please skip my review because I will be criticizing it as someone who hates this series with a burning passion or you don't
I believe in the media industry there is something called "popularity syndrome", when something becomes popular or sells well, its quality decreases instead of improving, because the creators or people responsible have less incentive to improve their work, or maybe they just drag it out as long as possible just to milk it and make endless money, which makes things worse. This is
...
not the case for all popular series, but it definitely exists. Yes, one of them is "Spy X family"
This is one of the most overrated series I've come across since I started reading manga, and it's also one of the most pointless series out there.
1.) Story & plot
It's not bad if you just read the synopsis, it's quite interesting and I should have liked it, but no, it lost everything it had and its soul for something called "money". If this manga had followed its plot, it would have ended long ago, because it didn't have much things or even have the potential to be a long series. but because it sold very well so they chose to filled it with pointless fillers and shit ton of unnecessary chapter & arc as much possible as possible
The plots and lore are treated as if they were a joke and unimportant. just think about it, 5 years later, all shits i've mentioned has progressed less than the motorway in my country that took 30 years to build and is still not finished because of corruption. I have never seen a series insulting its readers as much as this one. I don't think the author himself knows what he should do next and what the purpose or goal of this series is, other than to keep doing it for money (I believe the publisher and editor has some influence on this)
B..BU...BUT MUH BECAUSE IT'S COMEDY & SLICE OF LIFE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!
This is an excuse that makes me even more irritated
No, not at all. First, I don't dislike comedy and slice-of-life, I actually quite like them if they're actually good. but everything in this series are so repetitive and so recycled that I don't find any difference in each chapter or arc. It's like reading the same things over and over again and the jokes aren't funny at all. not at all. just very dull and cringe
Now what makes it worse is the balance between seriousness and "slice of life and comedy" which is pretty everything that this series can offers
The characters meets problems & conflicts & lore drop > it seems like a big deal > it's not, all of this is just nothingburger & misunderstanding and it was easily solved just because > the next chapter is about a dog that has no connection or cohesive to the previous chapter whatsoever > repeat for 50 times > funny, right ? now laugh and forget everything happened before
This is such a terrible storytelling and narrative that I can't even put it into words.
If you're looking for a slice of life and comedy, I think there are 90% of series out there that are better than this and deserve a lot more attention.
2.) Characters
You think the characters are good, right ? Yes, they are memorable and the pink-haired kid is cute. that's all. However, I find the characters in this series to be incredibly flat more than they are. Most of the characters in this series are one note, one trope, one personality, and have little to no character development. None at all. I don't think any series other than a gag manga would qualify as a good series if it didn't have some sort of character development.
Yor is one of the worst female characters I've ever seens, and her brother, Yuri, is just incredibly annoying and insufferable
Loid is a super talented and super smart spy. he should know all the secrets that doesn't even seem to hard to know, but no, he can't. because if he finds out everything too quickly, this series will end and the author won't be able to make any more money right ?, do you think it makes sense that a character who is supposed to be smart ends up getting dumber as the story progresses ?
Franky is nothing more than a comic relief, he's smart and knowledgeable about everything but he was treated like trash. which I think is the most pitiful character in this series.
Anya yeah, I think this girl is so annoying. (This one is just my personal opinion)
All of this is to say that I hate the way they treated the characters so stupidly and unreasonably.
3.) Art
I think this is probably the only thing I can admire. It's a shame that it was wasted in this series.
Spy x Family is just a piece of soulless, manufactured, artificial and it's nothing more than a slop

First of all, I have to admit that romcom manga is not my cup of tea. but this one is incredibly bland and flavorless as if it was written by a chatGPT AI. The plot is low-effort and the characters are cookie cutter as much as possible
Now let's check out the clichés and tropes in this series.
" Boy meets girl just because they have to " checked
" Modern/high school/slice of life/urban setting" checked
" The FeMc is rich and popular, the MC is poor and underdog" checked
" They finally fall in love each other after 500 chapters of relationship development" checked
" potential NTR/Love triangle" checked
" Here,
...
your forced and cheap random fan-service. OMG !!!! Her skirt was blown by the wind and lifted up. then the MC saw it with his own two eyes and blushed " checked
All of these are things I've seen about the same number of years of the universe or the galaxy we live in.
The art is standard but the character designs are as bland as the story, especially the male protagonist. He's already very dull character and his design makes it worse while the girls are passable for romcom series but still lame and soulless, that's all I can say.
this series is as empty as air and has no emotion or depth or value other than formulaic, clichés and predictable developments we see in other 5 billion of so-called romantic comedy in the manga industry.
I hope it gets more interesting in the future but I'm not gonna expect anything from this kind of series
Not all romcom manga are bad, but this one is very underwhelming.
Edit : I made it to chapter 8 and it was even stupider and more boring than ever so I decided to drop it.
At this point, I hope it inevitably gets axed.
