Guest Designing at Park Hopping

Hello friends, I am guest designing this month at
Park Hopping My Happy Place
and we have an awesome mood board that represents the opening of
a new park Epic Universe at  Universal Studios in May.

I let the colors inspire me and created what I hope will work for a graduation card!
I used a Brutus Monroe Northern Lights card panel that I die cut with a
Spellbinders Arch die and embossed with a starry EB folder.
The sentiment was computer generated.
This print reminded me a lot of the 'castles' you see at Disney.

I want to thank Makira at Park Hopping My Happy Place for having me
as a guest designer.
Come and join her challenge and have some fun too!!

Guest Designing At Cut It Up

Hello friends, today is a fun day as I am guest designing for the
Cut It Up challenge and the theme is FLOWERS.

Cut It Up is a challenge that is all about using your die cuts.
I decided to use my much neglected Concord & 9th Primrose Garden dies.
This by far is not a quick project but I prefer much more 'fussy'  cards myself
so this wasn't a hardship for me to create.
It's a lot of die cutting but so worth it in the end.
The sentiment is also Concord & 9th , Primrose Garden stamp.

I totally used scraps for all greenery and flowers.  I keep all my scraps
in their own 12x12 ziploc bag sorted by color.  Makes it easy to just
grab a color when I need it.

I want to thank Cut I Up having me as a guest designer!!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you can join the
challenge at Cut It Up, the perfect time for flowers!!

Guest Designing At A Cut Above

Hello friends, today I am a guest designer at
 A Cut Above Challenge
who in turn is doubling up with
Double Trouble.
A Cut Above this month is Anything Goes as long
as you have used a die cut on your project.
Be sure to read the rules tab that explains what a
die cut is at the A Cut Above challenge site!
Want to have even more fun?
Then read below how you can enter your card into
both A Cut Above and Double Trouble!

For my card to qualify for all of the Double Trouble 'things', I used one
of my favorite Halloween dies from Cottage Cutz 'Trick or Treat Ghost'.
He is one of the easiest of their dies to work with.  I cut him from a
white card stock scrap then colored him in with my Copics and/or Olo's.
I used 4 of the 3 colors required for the challenge,
purple, yellow, orange and blue!

Come on over to A Cut Above and Double Trouble (links above)
and have some
Halloween/Fall die cut fun with us!

Special Notes:  A Cut Above defines their die cut as the result of using a die-cutting machine, manual or electronic, not a purchased pre-fabricated die cut, ephemera cut-out or a punch.

Both Double Trouble  and A Cut Above closes this challenge on Monday October 28th.

Happy Spring

Hello All, I have the honor of  guest designing today at
Aud Sentiments Challenge
and their theme is Watercolor/Spring and of course to use a sentiment.

I stamped my image with Versamark and embossed
with Sparkle N Sprinkle white embossing powder.

I like to emboss the image as it helps the watercolor
from bleeding out, especially if you get too carried away
with the color and wetness of your brush like I seem to do!!

For my watercolor I used my never been used before Zigs
that I have had a few years and just now pulled them out for the first time.
After watercoloring my image on cold press paper, which by the way is
Waffle Flower Crocus, I used the matching die to cut it out.

I stamped my sentiment directly on the flower pot,
then added a few Pink Fresh Studio Lavender gems.
The embossed background piece is one that came as a
card cover one of my friends sent to protect the front of the card,
a clever idea and so useful to the recipient!

I want to thank Aud Sentiments for having me
guest design for them, so make sure to head on over,
leave some love and join in the fun challenge too!!

The Legend of The Poinsettia

I am guest designing again this month at
Once Upon a Time Challenge blog
where the theme is based upon a children's book.
You can create anything using the book,
the story, the title, the pictures, the colors,
anything that has to do with the book.

As published by Amazon:

In Mexico, the poinsettia is called flor de la Nochebuenao flower of the Holy Night. At Christmastime, the flower blooms and flourishes, the quite exquisite red stars lighting up the countryside.

This Mexican legend tells how the poinsettia came to be, through a little girl's unselfish gift to the Christ Child. Beloved Newbery honor-winning author and Caldecott honor-winning illustrator Tomie dePaola has embraced the legend using his own special feeling for Christmas. His glorious paintings capture not only the brilliant colors of Mexico and its art, but also the excitement of the children preparing for Christmas and the hope of Lucida, who comes to see what makes a gift truly beautiful.

For my card I let the title inspire me,
I mean WHO doesn't love Poinsettias?

For my Poinsettia I used a new, never been used before
Sizzix Tim Holtz thinlits die Poinsettia Pieces.
I inked with distress inks fired brick and saltwater taffy
on a piece of glossy card stock, then die cut the
Poinsettia and placed over the inked card stock.
I added a Tim Holtz sentiment from Crazy Talk
stamp set, which I embossed with gold EB powder.
I also added Tonic Sunlit Meadow glitter drops
to the center of the flower.

I want to thank Deanne for having me as a guest designer!

Dreamers

I am guest design this month at
Once Upon A Time challenge blog where the inspiration is
always a childs book, how fun is that?

This month the chosen book is:

You can create anything from the book, the story, the colors,
the front cover, anything that relates to the book!

A bit about the book as published by Amazon:

We are resilience. We are hope. We are dreamers.

Yuyi Morales brought her hopes, her passion, her strength, and her stories with her, when she came to the United States in 1994 with her infant son. She left behind nearly everything she owned, but she didn't come empty-handed.

Dreamers is a celebration of making your home with the things you always carry: your resilience, your dreams, your hopes and history. It's the story of finding your way in a new place, of navigating an unfamiliar world and finding the best parts of it. In dark times, it's a promise that you can make better tomorrows.

This is the card I created.
I used a floral stamp from Cottage Cutz and a butterfly
stamp from Hero Arts Butterfly Pair set.
The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo Scrapbook Phrases
which I stamped with Versamark then used a never
before used embossing powder from Stampin Up Pool Party!

Make sure to visit the fun challenge at
Once Upon A Time
I would love to see YOUR take on the book
Dreamers.

I want to thank Deanne for having me guest design!

Embossed Butterflies

Hello All, today I am honored to be guest designing at
Try It On Tuesday and the theme is Emboss It
either wet or dry.
Of course you can see I went with the dry embossing using a NEW to me
embossing folder from Simon Says (Graceful Butterflies)
after seeing it on a Jennifer McQuire video!

I loved it so much I just 'had' to buy it!
The folder itself is butterflies, then it comes with a die to cut
them out, ingenious I think!

I used various inks  from the Simon Says Pawsitively inks ( grapefruit and sweets)
to add color on a piece of colored card stock!
For a bit of a more 'bang' I added gems from Pink Fresh studio!!

Why not take a minute and pop on over to
Try It On Tuesday and see all the pretty designs from the team!!

Earth Day

Today is my last guest design at
Word Art Wednesday Challenge blog
and I want to thank Karen and the team for having me,
it was such a pleasure.

Being today is 'Earth Day'
I made a 'green' card,
I kept the sentiment supplied by Karen as my main focus.

I had planned to use a black card stock for the background
but leaving the room for a few then coming back it
went completely out of my head, does that happen to you?
So, I ended up with the green card stock..oh well, it happens!

The patterned paper is from a favorite 6 x 6 pad of mine
by Carta Bella  'Botanical Garden'.
this is another gorgeous pad of paper.
I think I am addicted to pretty papers.
I used to sew and when I started card making
all the papers reminded me of the beautiful fabrics during my sewing days.

Anyhow, the greenery was die cut from a die I received from a friend.
She was moving and had to downsize all her paper crafting
and gifted me with two large Priority boxes of stamps and dies...
I was so thrilled and what a wonderful gift to receive.

The flower I made from my scrap bag of bits and bobs of pieces
I am trying to use up

Hope to see you at Word Art Wednesday where the challenge is always
anything goes!!

Happy Easter

Hello friends!
I am guest designing the month of April at
Word Art Wednesday challenge blog!
What an honor it is and I certainly hope I do them justice!

Being Easter is this coming Sunday, we are focusing on that.
I am sure you familiar with WAW and that they have
the most meaningful scriptures.
I made it the focus on my Easter card.

It was printed on card stock then die cut using a Sue Wilson die.
Isn't it pretty?

The paper underneath is from a gorgeous pad from the UK.
It is The Paper Tree  6 x 6 Lakeside Blooms.
each and every sheet included is beautiful.

I also added a cross from Tutti Designs and a flower to finish.

I invite you over to the
Word Art Wednesday blog to see all the fabulous designs by the team
and to join in the challenge, it is always anything goes and
also some fabulous prizes randomly drawn!
See you there!!

BOOOOgie Nights

I was a Guest Diva!

Hey All, I am guest designing at
Die Cuttin Diva's this week and the theme is
'MONSTERS'!

I have the cutest Halloween card  I made
using 3 different dies,
two of which are a first time use!

I die cut my 'Frankie'  FIVE times to give me all the colors I wanted.
I die cut first in black, then stuck him on a sticky paper
making it somewhat easy (I say somewhat as I did a few stupid things)
to just piece the other colors in....fun!!

The Boogie Nights die comes with a shadow die,
making it super easy to place the words on.
I couldn't help myself and had to add the google eyes,
as each of the O's had a place for them.

The tree die cut has the owl and skunk as part of it's die cut,
and cuts others as well, one big die...
so couldn't resist adding the skunk to my spooky scene,
and gave him a bit of white with a white pen.

So,that is my monster card and I am so glad I finally got to use Frankie!!

Thank you Die Cuttin Diva's for having me guest design!!

Mother's Day

Hi All!!
Today I am guest designing at
Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge blog
and the theme is Mother's Day...
create a card a child would give to their Mother.

I used one of my favorite images from Wild Rose
'Bella Sleeping'.
I have a thing for cute little 'ellie' stamps and dies.

I stamped and colored in the image with Copics.
Nuvo was added to the flower centers.

The sentiment is from Gina K Designs 'Notes For Mom'.
I punched it out then placed in one of the pieces from
Stampin' Ups hodgepodge  embellishments...
remember those?
I have an entire tin of them to use up!

I want to thank
Send A Smile For Kids for having me....
if you ever need inspiration for a 'kids' card
this is the place to go!!

Turnabout Card

I have a new (to me) stamp set I purchased
after seeing it on another blog and was totally enabled
to buy it after seeing it!!

It is from Concord and 9th
and I could sit and play with it all day...love it!!

All that being said, I am using it for my Guest Design spot at
Addicted To Stamps .... after my Top 3 win for January challenge
fun~fun~fun!!
(thanks for having me)

This stamp set is a 'turnabout' wreath set....
it comes with two different main stamps, plus others...
basically you stamp with 4 different inks,
turning your paper once before the next ink color.

I LOVE this set, but it's a bit addicting!!
The ink colors I used for this one were all pastels from Dew Drop (Memento)
Dandelion~Angel Pink~New Sprout~Lulu Lavender.
The sentiment is from Stampendous Spring Sentiments.

This is the first card I did

Dew Drop inks were used for this as well
Rose Red~Lulu Lavender~Cantaloupe~New Sprout
The sentiment is from the same set mentioned above.

I can see myself using these over and over with various colors!!
They have several different turnabout sets to choose from....
I can see another shopping spree in the future!

Hello

I am guest designing at the Crop Stop blog again this week.
This is my card I made.

Today I have a pretty quilt card to share using a quilt die

I cut the die three times,
twice using  designer paper from Authenique and then once from a
plain red card stock.

I backed the red piece, which is the quilt outline (binding)
with a piece of trimmed to fit (4")
The I just simply pieced the die cut pieces in where I wanted them.
(I can save all the extras for future 'quilts.)

The entire die cut was then adhered to a white card stock
and then a pink card stock base.

I die cut a Memory Box 'Hello'
and added 3 little Red Candi Dots

Friends are The Sunshine of Life

I am guest design today at the Crop Stop blog,
here is my card I made.

I made a bright and cheerful card today thinking as cold and dreary
as it is here in Michigan, it just might perk me up!

I started with a favorite product of mine
I first misted water on my card stock,
then tapped the bottles onto the wet card stock.
I added a bit more water to get a bit more design.
You want to be a bit light on the water, so you don't end up 'muddying" the colors.
Also a warning, these color bursts can be a bit addictive!
I used Lemon Yellow and Orange.

I then used a Poppystamps Velvet Blossoms die to cut out my flowers.

Once dry I did another fun trick to the flowers.

take a container, add some glue and a bit of water from your
water brush, stir it around then 'flick' it on your flowers,
then add Wow Glitter, I used Tangerine.
To finish the flowers I added Black Flower Soft to the centers.

I embossed a white card stock panel with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder,
added a Tim Holtz bird cage die cut

The butterfly is from Memory Box
and the sentiment is Stampendous.
I added a bit of twine to finish.

Guest Designing at Crafting By Designs

Today I am 'guest designing' at
'Crafting By Designs'  with a previous challenge win....
the challenge this time is ANYTHING Goes!
Thank you Design Team for having me!

I put together a card I am calling
'Freestyle Collage'
as it is put together with various things I already had
in my scrap bags.

I did stamp an image however with an old SU stamp from 1995.
Can't tell you the name as it came from a garage sale lol!
I just thought it was a cute little design and I had never stamped it!
I colored it with Copics and a bit of  glitter gel pens.

In my bags of scrap goodies
I pulled out a stamped splattered background I had rejected
from another project,
the same with the yellow frame, kitty and the sentiment.
A little leaf die cut was added.

The inside has another frame and another kitty!
Just a fun, easy little card to mail!
