Agent development
Tailored AI agents that plan tasks, use tools and act autonomously.
- Tool use & function calling
- RAG & memory
- Guardrails & control
We build AI agents that plan a task, call the right tools and run it through to a result inside your systems. Planning means the agent breaks work down; orchestration means several agents and services cooperate; automation means the process runs without someone starting each step. Operation is on-premise or in Europe.
We cover an agent system end to end: development of the agent itself, orchestration and integration with your existing software and secure operation afterwards. That means tool use and function calling, retrieval and memory, guardrails, connections to ERP, CRM and APIs, event and queue control, plus observability, logging and cost control in production.

Multiple agents and systems working together – connected to your APIs and data sources.
Secure operation with clear system metrics – auditable, traceable, sovereign.
We take a use case to a production agent in four steps. In discovery we understand the process and assess feasibility and ROI; the prototype is a fast proof of concept on real data with guardrails already in place; integration connects your systems and covers testing and security; then production operation follows, with monitoring and iteration.

Fast PoC with real data & guardrails.
Connect to systems, testing, security.
Production with monitoring & iteration.
We put agents on the routine work that repeats and follows rules: service requests classified, answered and escalated in your ticketing system, incoming documents checked, extracted and posted, sources reviewed and reports generated, data pipelines monitored, leads enriched and quotes prepared, and internal knowledge assistants that reach into your own systems.
Classify, answer and escalate requests – connected to your ticketing system.
Check, extract and post incoming documents – agents handle the routine work reliably.
Review sources, summarise, generate reports – at the touch of a button.
Agents monitor, correct and document processes.
Enrich leads, prepare quotes, schedule follow-ups.

We make agents accountable on three fronts. They run on infrastructure in Europe or on your own hardware, with open-weights models, so your data stays in Europe. They act inside guardrails, approvals and traceable logs rather than unsupervised. And we integrate them into your core IT instead of leaving a siloed tool beside it.
Operated in European data centres, open-weights models – your data stays in Europe.
Guardrails, approvals and traceability – agents act within clear limits.
We integrate AI agents into your core IT – no siloed solutions.
We provide four hosted agent variants — NanoClaw, OpenClaw, NemoClaw and Hermes — that you tailor to your own processes and data instead of starting from scratch. Each brings tool use, retrieval and guardrails as a base; we configure the connections, the data an agent may read and the approval steps with you.
Below are the questions we are asked most often about this area. Each answer is written to stand on its own, so it stays correct when quoted alone.
nokkela.io builds AI agents that plan a task, call tools and carry it out, rather than only answering a question. Technically that means function calling against your APIs, retrieval over your own documents (RAG) and a memory of the run so far. A chatbot returns text; an agent produces a result — a request classified, a document posted, a report written — within guardrails we agree with you.
nokkela.io gives every agent explicit limits. Guardrails define which tools it may call and on which data; approval steps let a person confirm before an action is carried out; and traceability means each decision and tool call can be reconstructed afterwards. Rights are scoped per system rather than granted wholesale. In operation we add observability and logging, so behaviour, output quality and cost stay visible instead of being guessed from the result.
nokkela.io connects agents to the systems you already run: ERP and CRM, ticketing, document stores and any API you can expose, with event and queue control where work arrives asynchronously. Multi-agent workflows let several agents and services cooperate on one process. We integrate agents into your core IT rather than building a separate island, so an agent works on the same data and the same interfaces your staff use.
nokkela.io runs agent systems either on your own hardware on-premise or hosted on infrastructure in Europe, using open-weights models where the use case allows. Data is processed to GDPR standard, and the contracting party is a German company, Nokkela-IT-Concept GmbH. Which model is used, where it runs and which data an agent may see are decided per project, together with nokkela.ai, which covers model selection and on-premise AI.
nokkela.io runs agent projects in four steps. Discovery understands the process and assesses feasibility and ROI; a prototype follows as a fast proof of concept on real data with guardrails already in place; integration connects the agent to your systems and covers testing and security; then it goes into production with monitoring and iteration. How long each step takes depends on how many systems are involved, so we scope that after discovery.
nokkela.io sees the clearest value in high-volume routine with clear rules: classifying, answering and escalating requests through your ticketing system; checking, extracting and posting incoming documents; reviewing sources and generating reports; monitoring and correcting data pipelines; enriching leads and preparing quotes; and internal knowledge assistants with access to your systems. Feasibility and ROI are assessed in discovery first, because a rare or loosely defined process rarely repays automation.
NanoClaw, OpenClaw, NemoClaw and Hermes are the hosted agent variants that nokkela.io provides, so a project does not start from an empty repository. Each is a starting point for tool use, retrieval and guardrails; the connection to your APIs, the data an agent may read and the approval steps are configured for your processes. We host, operate and monitor them and adapt them as your processes change.
We start with a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes, in which we look at your process and say honestly whether an agent fits it. You then receive a realistic assessment and a quote matched to the scope. We usually reply to enquiries within one business day, and your details are never passed to third parties.
