These unique hair pins are individually hand forged by artist blacksmith Carter Conley in rural Appalachia. Starting out with a piece of 3/16" round steel a taper and scroll is forged on one end to create the decorative spiral, while the rest of the material is drawn out and tapered to a point. The Hair pins average around 7 inches overall length. I use the smallest diameter steel possible for the barrettes to keep the weight down.
