Living in Indiana, fall and winter temperatures get less than 55 degrees consistently which would prevent us from being able to anchor orchids or other plants to trees so this will just have to do.   When choosing a board, choose one that is rot resistant. I used cork bark since it doesn’t rot but it’s also very easy to make holes in. It’s fairly plyable.   Hang in a spot that will get light, water the moss when it’s almost dry, and you can incorporate liquid orchid  fertilizer in the water when blooms fall off. ✂️ chopping: lack of light and change environmental can result in a leggy plant. If you want it to grow more uniform then yes, chopping is the way but if you don’t mind the look, keep it as is. 

💦 Water: Let dry out halfway. I personally choose to grow mine in a self watering pot to help me keep it damp. I tend to be an underwaterer and will forget to water her.
