Gorilla Glue Call

This is sign is hilarious. I had a cat I loved that I carried from Jackson, MS to Memphis, TN. Mama said I had to leave the cat because it would just escape on the trip. I held onto her so tightly that she did not escape. I really loved that cat and held her all the time. That all changed when I learned cats could be an allergen. I only petted he on the head after that even though she wanted in the house. Even now, if I go into a house with a cat, I am all sneezes.

Friday, I made a call that I forgot I made. Since the beginning of the lollipop-from-noodles journey, I have questions. I want to get this right the first time without having to try out the glue and make a mess if it does not work.  I called Gorilla company to see which glue will work. I talked to a very nice woman who was not only helpful, but hilarious while helping. She told me exactly what glue to use--Gorilla Clear Grip. This needs to be applied to both sides (I think) and let it air before joining. She said this was the equivalent of E6000. She said it is Walmart. Probably on Amazon, too.

No, Gorilla glue won't melt in the rain. I knew that but I had to ask her. However, fierce heat and sun can melt it. In December the sun and heat will not be so bad.  So, her recommendation was Gorilla Clear Grip.

The other call I needed to make was to Macy's, but I postponed that because of current problems they are having.

Like I said, we bought paper towels, a six pack. I thought Tommy was cutting little pieces with a scissor. However, I could not fathom that he would cut good squares. But, the Sparkle paper towels have perforations to tear each paper towel into four pieces. There is even a picture of this feature on the front of the package. Next time I buy paper towels should be in a year or more, so I need to remember Sparkle.

Today, before I took a nap, I heard a bird chirping outside the window by Tommy's chair. It was thrilling to hear the mama bird. Tommy could not hear it at all, even with the door open. Finally, he said he heard a bird in the tree across the street when he went to get the mail. It was so disappointing that it was not my little mama bird. Tommy looked her up in a bird book. We have a house wren.

Does the sign at the head of this post reveal the way your cat would talk if it could talk?

I know some of you don't use paper towels, so this question is not for you--have you ever used paper towels that can be cut into four squares?

It has rained on and off today, a gentle rain, for a total of about four hours? I can do without the wind, and lightning. How much rain did you get?

TEMU Redeems Itself...sort of

This metal sign redeemed Temu's reputation for the time being. Yes, I ordered it from China. But, you can probably go to a local farm store and buy one. Nothing was broken. The sign is thick metal and the paint is rusty around the edge.

I TAKE IT BACK! The sign has dings on its back. The thin little packaging does not protect anything.

We ventured out on this dank, dreary day to get two of my meds. And, then the meds were not there. Different story for both, but I don't have them. Some days, getting meds is a real pain. First world problem? At least they will be forthcoming, so I suppose I should not complain.

Laughter is good for a body. Today, we got our belly laughs and snickers. Mike and Molly has got to be one of the funniest shows around. The writers outdid themselves on the four episodes we watched today. I would highly recommend this sitcom, but delicate ears should not be allowed in the room.

Christmas Note: I will unstack the three tomato cages so I will have three trees next year. I had two cheap strings of lights, but gave away one string.  I left the cages stacked for convenience this year.

By putting back together the vacuum cleaner, I saved having to buy a new one. Tommy took it apart to empty the dirt. He said he put it back together, but the first time the cleaner touched it, it came apart in three pieces. She tried to put it back together, but I took it because she was not even putting the right pieces together. I tried for a few more minutes, and we all gave up. Finally, on Friday, I decided I would get it back together or we would buy a new one.

I took all the parts off that Tommy had put back on. Well, he had not put them on correctly, so the rest would not fit. It took me two minutes, and the vacuum is whole again. I am good at putting things together, fixing broken things. So, now he did not have to pay for a new vacuum. When I take things apart, I pay attention so I can get the thing back together!

Tonight, I made a blueberry cobbler with fresh blueberries and twice the amount called for in the recipe. Delicious.

Dinner: honey baked turkey, cabbage, green beans, sweet potato.

Tommy is considering getting a different tub or shower, something we can actually use. Does anyone have any caveats, recommendations, or thoughts on brands or dealers, anything?

Do you watch Mike and Molly?

Just a few things

As of Wednesday afternoon, Walmart had thrown out over $700K in merchandise according to a manager. Today, an employee said they still had thrown out more and had even more to throw away. Of course, insurance pays for all this.

Exbf got his first ss check deposited to his account. He was elated it was done. Tuesday, he goes for disability hearing. He is glad things are moving along. I imagine he has too many assets to collect anything. But, there is other help for people with disability.

He won't make it to the lunch on Tuesday. He may come Monday for our Easter. Or, I might go down there if his church is having anything. I checked with him. They are not.

I slept from 9 pm on Thursday night until 2:15 Friday afternoon. I awoke for an hour at midnight and an hour or so about 7 am. This is always a sign I am ill. Since I finished the two meds for ear that I suspect are making me feel so awful, maybe I will feel better. I am not one to lounge about in bed and sleep. I might lie down because of my back and watch tv, but not just sleep for hours.

I had a box in my trunk that J put in there. When I looked in the box, I was shocked at the contents. When I pack anything, the contents are similar. I had a guy at Lowe's move it to the front seat so he could put things in the trunk. This box had gardening stuff and about four or five disparate categories. I cannot remember them right now. But, there were my grass shears, pack of gloves, about a dozen seed packets, root hormone, and needed garden items. I have no idea who packed this box and called it good.

There is still junk on the car on the passenger side floor that needs to be examined, sorted and bagged. I may need one of the receipts on the floor...lol. At any rate the bottles need to go into recycling and cans in a bag to take to recycling place.  This should all be a five-minute job, but these things take hours over many days for me to do.

Today, I was walking to the house from the car, taking things inside and had an armload because I had no plastic bag in the car. I was talking to exbf on my cell phone. About half way to the house, I panicked. "Oh, no, where is my phone. Oh, I cannot find my phone. Oh no, oh no! I hope I did not lock it in the car. Oh no!"

"Oh, it's right here in my hand." He started laughing so loud. He said that was funnier than someone losing their glasses on the person's head.  This a man who rarely chuckles and definitely does not laugh aloud.

I am so accustomed to a panic when I cannot find my phone. I forgot I now had the key safe on the door. That thing is so difficult to get open. At least, it was for me the first time I did it.

Today, I got my first glimpse of neighbor down the street taking his newborn twins for a walk. He stopped at the end of my driveway. So cute. Three months old preemies (boy and girl), so fat and cute. There was a plastic sign strapped to each of their car seats--DO NOT TOUCH ME UNTIL YOU HAVE WASHED YOUR HANDS. I thought this was a good idea, having a sign to put up right near the baby's face on the side of the carrying handle.
