Shelfie in child's room
Today I have for you a great storage idea with Rafa-kids XL shelf . What do you do with all the cuddly Forever Friends who belong to your child? Our ten years old Frank has such a big collection of cuddles that they hardly fit in his bed! And that’s not the end, as he likes to buy or get from time to time some new ones. The other day I thought that our XL shelf could be a perfect storage idea for it. Your child can see all of the favorite cuddles and then take the ones he/she would like to play or sleep with. You win two things - a beautiful decoration in a child’s room and good way to storage them…Of course, the shelf is suitable for displaying any other collection of your child. What could it be? lego, little dinosaurs, books, drawings …
Rafa-kids favorite Forever Friends:
I’m showing you two other children’s rooms with different ideas.

and a little Ollie’s room who is only 15-month-old : Mop_clothier

Clouds and Raindrops decoration for children's room
Let’s start the weekend in dreamy , cosy and sleepy mood….
Don’t you think that Clouds, Moon and the Raindrops are such perfect elements to decorate child’s room ? I recently discovered, that the Danish brand Fabelab known for beautiful high quality textile products, have created in collaboration with Chispum from Spain, dreamy wall stickers. Clouds with raindrops in blue and pink. They are made with the special watercolour print designed by Anna Thomsen from Trekant Design. What do you think about the simple decoration of Moon and stars by CamCam brand from Copenhagen ? Or just a large raindrops catered from paper and hang next to the child’s bed? I’m so glad to see such a simple, calm products for the little ones. …
Thank you for the inspiration : Fabelab - CamCam and BigImaginationDesign

Groovy Magnets & Rafa-kids
Did you like our “ Let’s walk into the forest…..” blog post ?
Well , we have much more for you today. 3 years ago I had a chance to discover a very nice brand from Belgium called Groovy Magnets. At my last visit in Amsterdam I told you about it here, I came across their products again and thought to do something together. Rafa-kids absolutely loves to collaborate with other creatives, so we asked if we could use their playful products in our up coming project.
So here you are!
Simple idea with a great and fast effect - magnetic wallpaper, magnetic wall stickers, posters and magnets. You select a wall sticker and magnets - put it on the wall ( no glue needed) and you can start to play together with your child. I’m sure you will have lots of fun! We have a problem which animal on the magnetic sticker to choose - Owl, Rabbit or maybe the Giraffe ? The graphics is so cool and the quality is very good. It is not a sponsor post, believe me. I’m just exited. I always appreciate not only the way the product is made, but how it is packed and Groovy Magnets - get’s my 10 ! Well done.

Let’s walk into the forest…..
In some parts of Europe there is already a big layer of snow, but in the Netherlands we still enjoy Autumn atmosphere. We feel so lucky to have sunny days and to see the nature changing slowly…. Few weeks ago we brought into our Rafa-kids studio a ‘nature’ vibe and created a children’s room with NEW Rafa-kids B bench. The set was part of a project called Carte Blanche which we were asked to create by our long partner/stockist in France Les Enfants du Design. I was feeling like a little girl in a candy store, since I could select product from their collection to create this room. Yeeey!!! …it is one of our favourite children’s stores carrying plenty of the best modern products for children which are on the market at the moment.
What is the story behind the room…
I wanted to bring into child’s room a charm of natural colours and textures. We set two corners - one with our bench next to the bed and the second is a little “ tea corner” where kids can play. Our Rafa-kids bench is such a simple and elegant furniture which can be used in many different ways. We always want to make our furniture - Playful. I hope you like the tones of mint with the contrasting dark brown textures of wood and wool. My favourites are the different kinds of baskets to hide the kids toys. They give a room a bit of a boho vibe contrasting with the modern simple furniture. I also imagine that the room, can be gender neutral and give calm and nice atmosphere to play. I hope you like it.
To create this room we selected few of our favourite products from the Les Enfants du Design store:
Nobodinoz - Pouf and jumping rope, Muuto - Dots , Snowpuppe lamp , Ferm Living - House shelf, Dot Mint little basket, pillow , Donna Willson - Wooly Wood plaid, Bloomingville - baskets, Blabla kids - Cloud Pillow and Mint Doudou soft doll , Chair - Oeuf NYC and white table from Flexa Play.

Lotta Agaton for H&M home kids
It doesn’t happened often that well known interior stylist is creating images for children’s products. Or I don’t know about it, since the names of the stylists are most of the time not even mentioned in the production photos. When I discovered that one of my all time favourite Swedish Interior Stylist Lotta Agoton, made sets for the new H&M kids home collection I just wanted to show it to you. Lotta works for world know companies like String or Bolia, and create work for advertising agencies and newspapers both in Sweden and internationally. Her work is very inspiring and always up front with trends in my opinion.
This time we see her images created for “ Halloween “ kids party and decorated with textiles from Swedish giant H&M . All the products are very bold and in simple three colours - black&grey and pink. Rugs, beddings and plenty of storage option - baskets in different sizes and colours. I really like the image with two girls , chilling in their beds. A lovely mess and a “real” feel of how the children’s rooms normally look like….
Happy weekend!

Makii from Rotterdam
Sometimes I think: ‘what a small world’ ….especially when I discover local designers and realise they almost walk the same street as I do. It happens to me with Jessica Nielsen and now also with other Rotterdam based, graphic design brand - Makii. Already in 2013 illustrators Idris van Heffen en Mielo Pouwer started their brand called - Makii. Makkelijk in Dutch means - easy, and we often say to our kids , if something doesn’t need to much work,…..ohhhh this is “ makii ”, so I really like the name which is easy to remember. Makii strives to create fresh and creative products for children. Their collection includes large colouring pages, wall stickers, posters and postcards. Few weeks ago we were exited to see our furniture taking part in a photoshoot for their new lookbook. Rafa-kids A teen bed in white and K desk in natural finish were taken and beautifully styled by Cynthia Schrijver and photographed by Bart Brussee. The final pictures are very summery and fresh, don’t you think ?
I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Visse Vasse - visual stories
Are you looking for inspiration to create a gallery wall at your home ?
Well, I just discovered VisseVasse - visual stories website and I really like it.
As you know me, I like products which will look great in kids’ rooms the same way they can be exposed in our living room. VisseVasse - ring the bell! This Danish company was founded by Dorthe Mathiesen and Karsten Noel. They both have worked for the past 20 years in the field of fashion, production design and graphic design. In 2013 they launched Langebro the first city poster. With its references to 1930s poster artists and the mint/turquoise colours of the era, it set the tone for the upcoming collection of posters featuring landmarks from Danish and European cities…..can you find yours? Please read all the story of the company here. My favourites are exclusive collaboration with photographers Vee Speers (Australia) and Dan Isaac Wallin . Only not sure if my boys would like them in their room, through…..

Rafa-kids new shelves collection - PART 4 - shelf S
The story of this S shelf started in our own son’s room.
He has Rafa-kids F bunk bed and he loves to read, especially in bed! After finishing his books, he was most of the time, just trowing them away on the floor! Can you believe? There was also no place to put his lamp. So we thought, we really need to do something.
The first prototype shelf was designed for him. We were inspired by the details of K desk which we wanted to use in the new design. Then, we realised, that this beautiful shelf has to be part of Rafa-kids collection, and that actually - we should design more shelves….
Happy weekend! We have a birthday party for 9 years old in planning!
