Hope this design is useful.  So simple and can be worked in a few hours.  You can also use this design for the sleeves of your Kurtis and blouses and add golden beads or stones. It will give a grand look.

See you soon in my next post.  Till then, have a nice time with your needle n thread.

Mixed stitches embroidery

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well.  Today I am here to show you a small finish which is a WIP  for a long time.   The design has been taken from a kutch embroidery book.  I have started to practice the kutch work motif(I started to do before 5 years - LOL).  But after doing the motif  I felt that I have selected the wrong colour. In the beginning of this year when I was cleaning my cupboard I got this WIP.   I traced two patterns of the same design.  But now I have decided to complete one and I will try to make it into a wall hanging.

Video tutorial of basic Kutch diamond.

Now let me show the design.

Some close ups

Herringbone stitch Leaf and flower.
Only at the time of editing this blog post I realised that I have embroidered the flower using green colour(poor concentration).   Centre of the flowers are done using satin stitch.  The small leaves are also done using satin stitch. Stems are done using stem stitch.

This is the kutch work motif.  I have used variegated thread here.  I am thinking how to turn this piece into a wall hanging.  Once I complete it I will post it here.

Hope all of you like this pattern.  I am planning to come up with a simple craft tutorial.  So watch this space.   Till then, have a nice day.

Embroidery Kurti Neck Design

 Hi all

Hope all are doing well.  Yesterday I was not able to put this post.  So today I am happy to share with you a simple neck design that uses herringbone design.  I have altered the design used to explain the herringbone stitch.

One close up
------------------

Only with thread work the design looks plain.  So I have added some cut beads and sugar beads as an embellishment.

Anchor thread numbers 13 and 257 are used.  3 strands of threads are used throughout.  Herringbone stitch is used and for neckline stem stitch is used.

Pattern for the design
------------------------------------

Here I have given the half side of the design since it is a symmetrical design.  You can print the design in A4 size paper.  You can see the following link for tracing the design onto the fabric.

Hope all of you like this design.  Tomorrow I will be back with another embroidery design with a weaving flower.

Have a nice day.

Kantha Embroidery Saree

 Hi all

Hope all of you are doing well.  I love to do embroider my own sarees.  But it will take quite a lot of time.  During the beginning of my embroidery journey I embroidered some sarees.

You can view them in the following links

Now I am embroidering a kasuti work saree and 3/4th of the embroidery completed.  Soon I will show it.  Seeing the time it takes recently I started to buy embroidered sarees If I find it during any shopping.  I've got two kantha embroidery sarees and a chikankari saree.  One by one I will show it here.

Today's saree is raw silk dark blue colour saree.  It's very light weight and I like the thread colours used.  Three big motifs and small butta size motifs are all around.  3/4th of the border is embroidered.

Three such big motifs are there in the pallu portion.  Running stitch and herringbone stitches are used.

This is the border design and the small buttas.

Whole pallu portion.

Kantha embroidery basically uses running stitch.  But it creates beautiful stitch patterns.  I will try to post some kantha embroidery stitch designs.

Hope all of you like this saree.  I will come up with another post tomorrow.  Till then have a nice time with your needle and thread.

Also, I have added one more block to my needlepoint sampler.  It is herringbone stitch.  Learned the stitch from here.  You can learn about more stitches and patterns in that site.

I am almost nearing the completion of my shadow work saree embroidery.  Hopefully in my next post I will show u my completed saree and a crochet Ta-da.

Embroidered Panel

One of my resolution this year  is to learn stitching a kurti.  I was not satisfied with my tailor and since I know the basics of sewing and cutting I have decided to learn myself.  To my surprise I have found a youtube video tute on cutting and sewing a kurti from a to z.  I have bought a black color cotton fabric to stitch.  To add some personal touch to the kurti I thought of adding a embroidered panel in front and to my luck I have found another tute for adding a panel also.  So with all these videos downloaded and fabric ready I have started to embroider the panel and it is ready to be attached to the fabric..

Here is the embroidered piece.  I have embroidered it in a black color silk cotton which I have some leftover fabric in my stash.  Used basic stitches like satin stitch for flower, herringbone stitch which is in yellow color, fishbone stitch for the leaves in the stem, herringbone stitch for the leaves around the flower, and backstitch for the stem.

The same design is repeated three times to get the necessary length for the panel.  If any of you interested to try this design do drop in a comment. I will post it on my blog.

I should add some sequins or beads or stones to the center of the flower.  Doing satin stitch takes time but the result is worth doing it.  I like the smoothy finish of the satin stitch.  It is done with 1 strand of thread , other stitches are done with 2 strands of threads.

Saree blouse

Today I have come up with the blouse for the saree which I have posted here.  The design is very simple.  Two lines with whipped running stitch.  In between the lines chain stitch is done in a zig zag manner and for the sleeves herringbone stitch is used.  Then the star shape is done using the fly stitch.  That's all.

A close up

Now the blouse along with sleeves.

Hope all of you like it.  Waiting for your feedbacks.

Kutch Work Border

Today I have come up with a kutch work border.  I have used herringbone stitch for the flower and fishbone stitch for leaves.  Stems are stitched using Back stitch.  The other parts are kutch work.  I am going to use this border for a pillow case.  I have completed stitching one pillow case.  After completing the other one I will show it in another post.

Closesup of the design.

The design has been taken from Kutch work designs book of Mridulas embroidery school.  In that book u can find all the possible designs for kutch work from simple to complex designs.  Also, I have bought a new embroidery machine and nowadays trying to do simple embroidery using machine. In the coming days I will blog about it.

Till then,
Happy Embroidering.

Herringbone stitch _ Chudithar project

For a long time I wanted to do a project using herringbone stitch.  It was very easy and can finish a flower within a few minutes.  Here I have worked a flower using herringbone stitch and outlined it using stem stitch and now the flower looks more attractive. Inside the flower buttonhole stitch is done with french knots in the center.

Also I have done the neck using herringbone stitch.  After doing this I have altered and show the end work in my next post.

Then I have worked  floral pattern for the lower part of the tops.  That will be in the next post.  Bye for now.

I have updated the neck part and it is here.

This is the lower part of the chudithar.

Happy Embroidering.
