Spidey comes to the big screen again ... watch it, then paint your very own Spider-Man resin figurine

Be sure to catch the latest Spidey movie i.e. Spider-Man: Far From Home which is showing in cinemas throughout Malaysia at the moment.  It's a Marvel movie you can't miss.

Also be sure to get your own 1/28 scale resin figurine kit from Knight Models paint it. Fortunately, Shire Works still has limited stock available for this Marvel Spider-Man kit. Spider-Man comes to the PS4 but you can still enjoy the friendly neighbourhood analog version

If you are a Marvel fan and a video gamer to boot, you would've probably been caught up in the hoopla of the recent PS4-exclusive release i.e. Marvel Spider-Man by Insomniac Games. Spider-Man is a firm favorite for many superhero comic book fans so his return to the interactive world of video games is undoubtedly a highly anticipated one. And by and large so far, the game has received favorable reviews from a myriad of critics. This certainly bodes well for digital Spidey and his fans.

But digital isn't the only way you can enjoy Spider-Man. You can bring him to life yourself by painting up the Knight Models miniature figurine kit version. Fortunately, Shire Works still has limited stock available for this Marvel Spider-Man kit. It should be noted Knight Models no longer holds the license to produce Marvel miniatures. Because this is a miniature figurine kit, it requires assembly and paint. Parts are mainly made out of metal e.g. Spider-Man himself as well as the taxicab side windows, roof signage and door handles. The only part that is non-metal is the taxicab itself which is made from resin and doubles as a base on which the Spider-Man figurine rests.

Spider-Man Homecoming

Arguably one of Spidey's big screen adventures in a long time, Spider-Man Homecoming exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe - a huge storytelling vehicle that ropes all of Marvel Studios’ superheroes into one interconnected movie narrative. Homecoming is not to be confused with Sony Pictures' own Spider-Man offerings i.e. The Amazing Spider-Man which exists in its own story world. Regardless, any Spider-Man movie is a must-see with Spider-Man Homecoming more so than the others.   

Although Knight Models no longer sells miniatures from the Marvel Universe franchise, we here at Shire Works still have some of their Marvel superhero resin/metal miniatures in stock. Shown below is their Spider-Man model kit which comprises a resin base (part of a taxi) and white metal parts of Spidey himself. This miniature requires assembly and paint. This classic version of Spider-Man by Knight Models sees Spidey in his original suit and not the high-tech one shown in Homecoming. Nevertheless, it's still an excellent kit and has the potential to look good when painted up as you can see above.

So be sure to catch Spidey's latest adventure in the big screens. We here at Shire Works had a blast watching Homecoming and believe it to be one of the best Spidey movies in a long time. And while you are at it, you might also wan to get your own friendly neighborhood Spider-Man miniature to paint up, classic superhero suit and all.

Spotlight on the Knight Models Spiderman

It's May 1st and The Amazing Spiderman 2: Rise of Electro is now showing in theatres throughout Malaysia. Make sure you catch this awesome movie in what is a defining moment of Peter Parker's life. Andrew Garfield is perfectly cast as Spiderman's geeky alter ego.

In its Marvel Universe range of 1/28th scale miniatures, Knight Models has an old school version of Spiderman leapfrogging a New York taxi. It's a beautifully sculpted piece of Spidey in a very dynamic pose; managing to capture the agility that is Spiderman's trademark.

Supplied unpainted and requiring assembly, the Knight Models Spiderman model kit comes in a combination of resin (for the taxi) and metal (for Spiderman). All figure/model parts are sandwiched between two protective sponges and encased inside a cardboard packaging. Pictures above show how a fully assembled and painted Spiderman looks like.
