softly softly

Hello there , you all . Recently I had an expert computer tech set up a new computer .Needless to say I am no wiz at handling a computer old or new but this one is taking the cake . I do have a working facebook page so that is one good asset for this PC .

Another is my blog where at least  can log in ...

The next challenge for me is to take a photo of recently made card and place it here to share .

Well so far so good . The program to add photo is different but I worked it out .

The card base is a precut patterned front card kit from SU . I diecut two rectangles with different sized and style dies .The butterfly image is from the SU stamp set, Spotlight on Nature. The sentiment is from SU set Little Ladybug.

A little colouring and a few small bling and BINGO , card and matching envelope in plastic sleeve are saved away for later .

It  might be suitable for a school leaver or a new job seeker and even with the right inside sentiment for someone who is recovering from an illness or operation ..

I have not created for a while so having these kit packs saved  are  handy to awaken the creative urge and encouregment to blog again .

Till next time cheers for now and catch you again soon ,

Flying high

Hi there and welcome to my room .

So over this cold weather  and  going out for coffee and cake but love it for time spent in my craft room creating .

Just this morning I had a few extra hours in my room because Hubby decided to stay in bed till lunch time . Indeed,  I have a card to share. But first am sharing some sad news .

Twiggy passed away recently and is sadly missed by us both . She was a wonderful companion for Doug and even now something will remind us of our loss .

Like ,when we open a door and wait for her to run out to join us out the front as we sit in the sun watching the traffic pass by .

We are not against getting another four legged  friend but will wait a while to be sure that is what  we want ..

On happier note I do have a card to share today .

Out of practice with the camera, me thinks ..

The plane and sentiments are from SU stamp set "Adventurous Sky"

The paper backing is from my old 15cm square paper SU stash while   the Basic White is also SU stock . The card itself is a C6 size of Basic White .

Now I am looking forward to blog browsing to see what some friends have been creating .

So with that in mind I will say ...

cheers for now catch you again soon ,

                                Shirley-Anne .

Tagging Christmas

Hello to you and you too , thank you for calling in and I  do hope that you let me know that you popped in by leaving a comment . I will enjoy visiting you too .

Yesterday, Saturday ,was a specially lovely day as Michelle and one of her sons , Ryan, came to visit along with our sons , Danny and Sonny .

It was a cold day but as a  family all warm and fuzzy, we all enjoyed  bringing up old family memories that made us laugh as one . I am, that is we , Doug and I are not getting any younger so seeing absent family is really important to us . I know that we bring up the same memories and relate the same stories every time that we do get together but I wont apoligize for that, as those are memories that keep us going . Some may say that we dont remember some things. We do sometimes , but choose not to spoil the happier times . Any way ,I hope that our family get together was enjoyed by everyone .

I was clearing out one of my craftroom drawers today and found a stash of Christmas tags . I have had these for some time and now thought that they could have another use as card toppers .

I created 4 Christmas cards , using a white card base and a Christmas message adding only a few gems for embellishing

I adhered the tags with foam dots and as they already had some glitter on them all I added was a gem over the hole that held the ribbon tie and some more for embellishing .I have a stash of Christmas greetings  on hand so chose different ones for each card .

Once again thank you for browsing . I  hope that I have  inspired you to think outside the box when looking for card topper ideas .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Inspiration from tidying my room

Hi there , thanks for calling in .

My craft afternoon has been one of the best because it began while attacking a messy desk .

Well, have you ever started to tidy your craft space, only to find that you have unearthed so long forgotten treasures .Images ,cut outs and  little snippets from older magazines and images that you printed out because at the time you thought were just right for a project that you had intended to begin straight away?

Of course you have . As a true crafter / card maker , scrapbooker , thats just what one does .       Isn't it?...........Gee, I hope someone, somewhere said, "of course".

Any way ..

The paper ,on my messy desk,  had been left over  from a 12"x12" thicker  paper and I trimmed it to create a 12.5cm square card. The floral embellishments came from a freebie sheet  in a magazine pack, while the sentiment came from an ephemera pack from SU."Saying Something" .

You will find those on page 19 in the current  SU catalogue.

I adhered  all the pieces with foam dots . Now , looking at this
make ,I am wondering if the striped background suits the floral embellishments .
Still , I will leave it because I like it ......
OH and I did add a little Wink of Stella on some of the flowers ..

That is my afternoon crafting session and Blog entry  completed .

I hope that you have enjoyed the read and can relate to the finding of sweet treasures  on your desk .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now ,Shirley-Anne.

Early Christmas card

Hello to you , welcome to my postings .I hope that you will browse the older pages to see the other  CAS cards that I enjoy creating . I appreciate comments left and always return the visit

I thought that I  would begin my Christmas card makes by using this image saved from a stash of Kraftyhands purchases/ freebies
 from years ago .

A red card base to begin as a tent fold card. The dotty green layer was cut a bit smaller than card front then it was cut to a triangle shape and adhered to left side of card. The smaller triangle is cut from the other half so it will show back side of D/S paper and added to the bottom of card front .
The image came as a circle shape so I adhered it to some red card scrap and die cut with larger scallop circle die . I then adhered that to the join of triangles with foam dots .
I stamped the sentiment, which is from the SU set ,
Cookie-Cutter Christmas , diecutting it out before adding it ,also with foam dots . I just added a few  self adhesive yellow stars.
The inside will have a layer of the green dotty paper with a white card piece added for the greeting .

Now that I have begun the few Christmas cards that I need ,I know that I will spend time searching on my favorite blogs for new ideas and inspiration . You will know when I have visited you because I love to leave comments ..

Catch you again soon , cheers for now,

New style card

Hello and a happy day to you .Thanks for calling in and sharing  part of your  day with me .

Freezing weather  today but warm inside here as I put the air on early ..did  a quick flick around with the broom and duster and have cleared the sink of breakfast dishes .

Now with no guilty concious I can play in my craft room .

In between these sentences that I am putting together ,  I am  thinking about the card I want to create today . It is June and I have     4 birthday cards to create this month.

But the card I am sharing today is not one of them . Rather it is an experiment design I am trying out . The card base is from some scrap green ..not enough for a full  card but 14cm x 14cm. or 51/2 x 51/2 inches .

So on the left side  I  created  a 1 1/4  inch fold .

I had some scrap mushroom patterned D/S paper and I used the back side of it {red} on the narrow front panel . I stamped the mushroom house on scrap white and coloured before adding to card front  The sentiment is from my scrap stash .

I cut the rest of that paper 10.2x 13.3cm . and adhered it to the underside of narrow card front .

With some basic white card for the insert I added ,to the right side,  the last piece of paper .I stamped a gnome , free from  a magazine,  on scrap white and coloured it before adding to card .

Wow I hope that my attempt at the recipe is clear and that the photos helped .

I really enjoyed creating this odd shape card and that I used up some scraps .

Let me know how clear  this recipe was for you .

Stay safe , you all , as covid and flu about ...

Thanks again for calling in ,do hope you enjoyed the time

Catch you again soon , cheers for now ,                                                                              Shirley-Anne

Day of Rest

Hello , you all . Thanks for calling in and I hope that you enjoy the browsing .

Luckily I have a large collection of craft  supplies from my time with Kraftyhands  group and always seem to find just what I need when I need it .

This is one of the images from a pack of  12 Mini Postcards of a bear named James .

Now, I have a male birthday coming up soon and this particular bloke works hard ,plays hard  but would like to relax more . So that is what I will wish for him . A day to lounge around .

The  days have been sunny and quite pleasant here so hubby and I have been sitting outside in the afternoon sun , watching the traffic and people walking by . Reminds me of the days when I was a youngster walking around the block , saying hello and giving a wave to the old folks sitting on their front veranda. That is us now LOL .

Actually it is Mothers' Day today so I had calls /messages from my children and that made my happy day .

Thanks for calling in ,may your day be Blessed with sunshine too .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now .

Ahoy there on calm waters

Hello ,welcome to my blog and thank you for calling in .I do hope that you enjoy your visit . I do appreciate comments left and will return the visit .

I am a creator of mainly CAS cards and I do like to make masculine cards even though they can be tougher to embellish .Do you agree?

I mean finding a masculine image is fine ..a motor car or bike , a plane or even a garden shed and there are plenty of masculine themed papers in abundance but, it is the background or the embellishing that can be tricky .

Here is a card created today .

The stamp I have had for years , is from Stampin'Up. Basic thick white for the card base and for the image .A blue card layer then more white with a blue striped rectangle topped with the image .

I just sponged some blue ink around the image added the anchor and some blue dots . The sentiment ,from my stash , cut from who remembers where .LOL .I do tend not to throw anything away.

Do hope that you are well and contented and have someone to call a friend . Thanks again for your visit

'Just For You ' card

                         Purpose and Meaning

From a book of Lasting Friendship

The way you get meaning into your life

is to devote yourself to loving others ,

devote yourself to your community around you ,

and devote yourself to creating something

that gives you purpose and meaning .

Hello to you and to you .Thanks for calling in. Please let me know that you have popped in by leaving a comment and I will be sure to visit you too .I hope that you enjoy browsing through my posts .

As a full time carer for my hubby I can sometimes go for days without being in my craft room .

I am sharing a card made recently to make into a kit to share with friends Sandy and Jane .

Oh dear, I am sooo out of practice   with adding pictures . But still you can see that it is a simple creation . A tent fold card 11cm x 14.8cm. A white card base. A pretty floral paper cut to size added at the top 11cm .I then added a green 1cm strip under that .

The next bit was a little tricky as I wanted to embossed the last

4.8 cm  which included the green strip . Luckily I found in my stash a narrow embossing folder of tiny hearts which served me well . I also found a preprinted sentiment circle which I adhered to some scrap green card and punched a larger circle   adding to the card with foam dots .

Well that is it for now as the card will go into my stash .

Enjoy your day and be happy .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now . Shirley-Anne

Sweet Wrapped Bouquet

From a Book of Lasting Friendship.

 '' Any day is sunny

That's brightened with a smile ...

Any friendship blossoms

if it's tended to with style . ''

Hi there , welcome to my room .

Sorry that I am out of practice with taking photos of cards .

But for now am sharing a card that  I have made for an afternoon with like minded friends.

Here I have used a card base of SU thick Basic White in the usual C6 size with a slightly smaller layer of the same card stock . This layer has been embossed with a wavelike embossing folder before adhereing to card front . I had a scrap of brown checked card  about 5cm x12cm which I punched both ends with tag punch then cut in the mddle ,adjusting each side to to fit the embossed layer . I stamped the wrapped flowers from stamp set , Wrapped Bouquet , onto white card and diecut after colouring .

I adhered these with foam dots .

The little tag and sentiment are from the same set  . Nice touch I thought .

Then I just added  some bling .

A sweet card that could be for almost any occasion .

Now, I hope that this post has found you well and I thank you for the visit . Any comments will be appreciated and it will mean that  I  can  return the visit .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Celebrate all that is Vintage

Hi again today as I present a second posting .I had a break ,prepared and ate a pizza for lunch after sharing  the first card .

While the washing machine was working I visited some blogs to leave comments and checked out some challenges . This is something that I really missed while  my blog was down .

The sun is shining outside but there is very little warmth from it ..roll on Summer .

Now I have a masculine card to share today .One that was made a short while ago to add to my stash

There is a SU  Basic Black card base with a layer of black and white dotty paper .I have added, with liquid glue, 2 car images from my stash .A SU punch used to create  the label for the sentiment .

Thanks for visiting today and I hope that you let me know that you have been so that I can visit you too .

                                 Till next time

Catch you again soon , cheers for now .

Two note cards

Hello visitors , welcome to my blog post . I hope that you and yours are well or if you have been unwell, then  I hope that you are on the improving list .

Today I have 2 cards to share . They are really  simple , quite plain actually . I began both with a SU basic thick white card base with a smaller piece of same thick white  card .

The first card has a sentiment "just a note" from Everyday Messages Stamp set  , www.stampendous.com while the image is  an old favorite  from Penny Black , called Fragrant Letter  .      The lovely wooden heart  embellishment was a gift from a swap card friend , Karen Chuck .

I colored flowers  with yellow shades of  Copic  pens  .The letter itself was smooched with water color pencil .  I rubbed the pencil onto a stamp block and added a couple of drops of water then with a wide brush head I picked up the color and smooched the edges of the letter.

My second share

The  fruit image and the sentiment are  from  a freebie in a magazine along with a matching die. I have colored the pears  with a couple of shades of green Copic pens . I stamped one image direct to the layering  card , the other I stamped on scrap , colored and diecut adding that with foam dots .For this note card I have added a bit of bling to corners .

I did enjoy creating these two ..I consider this style to be my favorite to make. So I am hoping that you liked  them too .

                                        Till next time .

Catch you again soon , Cheers for now, Shirley-Anne.

Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome. Thank you for calling in .

Hoping that you are all well and are happy in  your endeavors .

Well , the morning was fine again  as we sat in the warmth  at the front of our unit .People were giving us a wave  and chatting .But as clouds rolled in and covered the sun , it got decidedly cooler .We thought that it might have improved .It just did not . Doug said no to me going inside for a lap rug .

So we came inside and while Doug dozed in his chair I checked the mail and set about  crafty blogging   about  what I think is a very beautiful creation  for  a  feminine  friend .

Beginning with  a soft pink card base I added a  smaller , white , embossed layer . I had left 3cm from the base free of embossing for the stamping of sentiment . I forget where it came from .
Sorry , I am out of practice with keeping track of measurements and products used ..
I used some retired SU ribbon to cover the border of the embossing .I then made a small pink square with a smaller white square for the flowers and a butterfly as a topper which was adhered using foam dots .
Another card for my stash .
If you have made it thus far ,you are very patient .
Thank you again  for your visit .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now ,
Shirley-Anne

A Real Treat .

                                      Hi there , Welcome .

Happy Monday to all  visitors . Thank you for calling in .

Thanks to those who viewed last post and left a word or two .

I hope that you have been enjoying sunny weather today . Doug [hubby] and I have been sitting out the front of our unit just watching the world go by . Other residents have been waving hello to us with some stopping to say hello .Doug is 86 and not in the best of health and I fear that our gopher rides together are a thing of the past .

We often travelled the length of Linear Park from the gorge to the city , having a picnic lunch on the way . Gosh with warm season on the way I am sure the missing will become stronger .
Life goes on and crafting helps ....

For a  dog lover in our Family I have made a card for an up coming  birthday . I hope he likes it .

The sentiment , bowl and the cute canine  are  from a SU stamp set ,Pampered Pets . These and  paper from my stash all added to a white card base .I am hoping that the colors , grey and green compliment
the orange .

If I can find a challenge that this card will suit then I will be back here  to enter it .
Hey , if you have a suitable challenge ,for me , feel free to let me know in a comment and I will give you a plug . in the mean time I am off to challenge search or is that surf..

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne .

Your special day

Well here we go again . Really getting to enjoy visiting  blogs again and commenting .

Thank you to those who have commented on my last few posts . If I have not already then  I will be visiting you soon .

It took a while to get comfortable  into the writing habit  though . As well as that part ,  I have not joined into a challenge for so long that I hope I remember how to use the  linky thing .

I would like to enter this card in the https://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com/

The challenge being      Emboss Wet or Dry

I like embossed back ground layers as they seem to highlight the next layer , be it an image alone  or a panel .  I made this card with the purpose of showing that green and blue can go together ..
So it is a green card base with same coloured layer that was embossed with a swirl folder .
Next , I added a blue panel with a smaller scrap  piece of floral paper .
Then using layered scallopped dies and a circle punch I added a sentiment found in my stash .
To finish the card I added 3 gold bits of  bling .

Well that is all for today .
Thank you for calling in .

Cheers for now catch you again soon .

Two for one .

Hello and welcome once again to my blog post . Thank you for calling in .

I really enjoyed making this card because it is a little different . And it was created using ends of papers from my scrap stash . Now once again this was made some time ago so no names of papers . I promise though once I have published cards already made I will endeavour to write a recipe for my new makes .

Fair warning now ..there are a several  photos of the stages of this creation, the idea of  which I found on Pinterest .

This small card is 8cm x 10.5cm with some beautiful scrap of SU paper . I added some bling to the centre of some of the flowers .

This is the card front or the small card holder and it is just one piece  10.5 x14.8cm.
Once again paper is from SU .
There is the addition of the corner piece which will hold the small card .

On the back of this I have stamped the greeting which came as a freebie on a magazine ..I think .

The finished  project shows now  all together .
Blue and green do go together  some times .

As I said ,I really enjoyed creating this . Simply a sweet ,different ,  easy project . I acknowledge that I copied the idea .

I do hope that you found this card interesting and if you make one ,I do hope that you share it too .

Hope that we have another day like today .it was sunny and Doug and I enjoyed sitting outside for a couple of hours .After lunch two special craft pals of   mine, Sandy and Jane , called in for a cuppa . As Doug was feeling a little better he sat up with us girls and brightly chatted along too .

Thanks again for calling in . Leave me a word or two and I would love to see what you have been up to and what you have created .

Catch you again soon, cheers for now .

A Tiny Birthday Note

Hello again ..Hope all are well and have some quality time for yourselves .

I am trying to get into the habit of writing and sharing something every day . Not that I  have many interesting events going on in my life or exquisite makes to share but some one somewhere might relate to that which I do share .

I have promised myself to visit at least 3 blogs every day , sharing  a  comment before I leave .

And more importantly, this will keep me inspired , even encouraged in my own crafting .

It has been a busy week , more I think , as hubby has been a little off . I have been very busy  tending to his needs while encouraging him to do as much as he can the best as he can .

Quiet time , personal time is a treasured thing but friendship with ones loved  spouse has the highest value .

Tonight I am sharing another make from a few days ago .

No details as a recipe because I did not know at the time that I would restart blogging and sharing again .Next time I must use a plain back ground for the photograph .
The papers are from SU as is the card base
I am  not  sure  of the origen of the  sentiment sorry .
The pretty little bows were from a cheap shop .

Well there you go my post is at its end .
If you have made it thus far thank you,  and I hope that you enjoyed your visit .

Catch you again soon, cheers for now .

All the Best

Hi there . Welcome to my blog  post today .  Thank you for calling in and I hope that you like my card .

This creation is inspired by some thing I saw on Pinterst . I went back later to look for it to save and acknowledge the crafter , but lost it .

The card  front has been embossed  using the SU Country Floral Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder .

It gave a  lovely deep embossed image .

I used a   Die-namics  Stitched Basic Edges  from My Favorite Things to create the white and grey topper  which I added with foam dots after stamping the image taken from  SU stamp set Asian Artistry and the sentiment All the Best Cursive 4526D.  Coloured with Copics . The grey is only a strip added to edge of white with minimum  liquid glue.

The card stock for card base is SU . Merry Merlot , now retired  .

I love this design and I just know that I will use it again .
Off now to visit some blogs .I have been away for far too long .

I still have a few cards to share with you so I do hope that  you check my post /blog again
soon and may be leave a word or two .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now .

In the mean time I will visit your blog soon .

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne
