Wistful thinking

 Hi there , welcome to my room and thank you for calling in . 

Well , I think that I have acheived my craft project for today which was to create  a vintage themed card . 

So happy to be back in blog land .Not as much time on my hands now as Doug needs /wants more time with me .Access cab days out for coffee and shopping ,Gopher days out for parks and bakery coffee and snacks and also keeping up with  health related appointments . 

Todays effort ..

  The 14.5" square  card base here is SU  retired ,Cinnamon Cider. 

The floral  and striped paper from pretty  KraftyHands Fatale Paper  Stack 

The beautiful image also from KraftyHands Femme Fatale cards pack .

The lace, small butterfly and pearl bling are from my still huge stash. 

I did trim a little from one side of the image , adhered it to a slightly larger coordinating , Cajun Craze [ still available from SU] then onto slightly larger Cinnamon Cider  . Then I tore the edges of that before adding the  image with foam dots .

Vintage Imagine

Hi there , welcome to my room . Thanks so much for calling in .
Warm wishes for a happy day for you and yours .

Very hot here today.  Fans and air con working perfectly .Had a wonderful morning of card making with Fran and Sandy while Hubby dozed in lounge chair . Jatz with  cheese and gerkin and a few sweet plain biscuits and a coffee kept the energy levels up till lunch time at the Forest Avenue deli .

Will share one of the cards made here,  now .

And for the inside .. In case you are wondering ,
the paper clip is just there to hold card open  to show inside ..

Card base of Kraft card was cut from 12x12 kraft pack from SU
Basic Black ink .Image is a clear stamp from Kaisercraft . Sentiments from MFT.
Black pearls from my stash .Bit of sponging from SU ink , Backed Brown Sugar .

               A bee is never as busy as it seems;
                   it's just that it can't buzz any slower.

Hi there , welcome to my room .
Thank you for popping in .

Another hot day in Adelaide . No gopher ride today as it is Tuesday and that means a craft morning with beautiful friends , Sandy and Fran .

Doug was not his usual cheeky self though . I think that the heat got to him and he is tired from the last ride still . I do have to watch him closely in hot weather as he does not like drinking water and if I don't push/ NAG  him to do that he tends to get a bit lethargic . Here is hoping that there is a cool change for tomorrow and he will feel better .


Tonight I am sharing a vintage style card using printed material
 from Kraftyhands CD , Femme Fatale.

Femme Fatale

 

Hi there . Welcome to my room . Thanks for calling in .
Quite late I know , very nearly tomorrow!

A pleasant day here . No gopher ride though . Doug and I went to local shopping centre for coffee because I had to do some shopping . Later in the afternoon though , Doug went off on his own for to give Twiggy a run . Just over the road so was not gone long .
In the mean time I made a card from Kraftyhands CD , Femme Fatale.

The  snail mail delivered this Kraftyhands Magazine ,on Friday .   I bought it recently from their online shop.


10 card projects, step by step photo instructions, hints & top tips.

Included is an interactive CD-Rom with all printable files from the magazine with internet links to specially created YouTube video tutorials with Mike & Ian, so you can create each project along with Mike & Ian at the same time from the comfort of your own craft room!

 

I have browsed through  the magazine and played the CD. Each compliments the other beautifully . My time is booked over the weekend but I cant wait to try out the projects in the new week ahead .

                         So watch this space !

Craft Nouveau

Hi there , welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .

I think that Autumn is settling into Adelaide as the days are definitely shorter and cooler . Which is fine by me but poor hubby finds it hard not to be able to go out on his gopher . So today he had to settle for a movie on TV and some games on his computer.

Sandy came  for our usual card making morning and seemed to wiz through 3 kits that I had made up . While Sandy was card making I was cuttlebugging ..[ has to be  craft terminology doesn't it?] I love having die cut shapes and images on hand and it uses up some scraps .

One of the cards made today is shared here . But before I do share it , this oldie learnt something new today ..just this minute actually .
The image used is from die cut images from Kraftyhands and which are also depicted in the CD ,   Craft Nouveau. I used this as my post heading and I did not know what Nouveau meant . I checked my trusty dictionary. Then I googled " paper craft nouveau "..yeah , right,  too much information .
rather loosely I think it just means .. "a style of " an image or paper pattern  style that is quite old .
Love the images and that really is all I need to know!! LOL.

Hello there , welcome to my room .
Thank you for calling in and I hope you enjoy your browsing .

Here in Australia it is Sunday  and I think that today was the coldest morning that we have had for ages . Doug and I were going to our favourite trail but stopped short , only making to the closest bakery . Even with gloves on it was just too cold to gopher further . Still,  we enjoyed the mug of  hot , strong coffee and croissant . Missed you Jill and Neil  if you read this .

All this meant that we were home early , which meant ,  in turn , that a bit of house work was in order . PHHHT!!!!
 I managed 3 small  loads of washing and some sweeping inside and outside before lunch .

More enjoyable though , was crafting in the afternoon . A card I would like to share as a result is one with an image found on line .

Post card

 

Hello to you and you and of course, you too .

Welcome to my room .

Thanks for calling in .

 

My old printer has died and I had bought a new printer some time ago , so I thought I would install it myself . I have indeed installed several over the years . But it seems as though this particular printer is faulty. Well it took me 8 hours over two days to reach this decision .The air in my craft room has been several shades of blue !!

I am so far  behind in my DT cards now and my commenting .

DEEP BREATHING now.

THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS now.

.So to calm myself I rummaged through some cards I had made last week to share one  with you .

It is a vintage style ..

 

 

Sorry I cant recall the name of the paper pack that the background paper came from .
Post card stamp from Joy crafts
I stamped onto Sahara Sand SU card with Black  ink .
I stamped image again on purple card and fussy cut the flower and paper pieced over first stamping .Then once more stamping on green card and fussy cutting the leaves , paper piecing those to place over first stamping as well .

I could not bring myself to add a flower or two because of those beautiful birds at the bottom .
Now , I feel a little calmer ..

Vintage CAS

Well , how is your week going ? All good?

I managed to get ahead with my craft morning kits over the weekend and actually had time to create some vintage cards .

I'd love to share them with you tonight .Hope you like them .

 

This one is 11cm x 15.5cm black card base

Background paper from Papermania,  Mono Paper Pack.

Image is printed from My Craft Studio programme

I die cut the vine in black card and the flowers are from my stash .

 

 

The image for this second card is from same place as first .
Papers from my stash .I think the floral piece is from Close to My Heart as is the mustard coloured cardstock base .
The sentiment tag is from a sheet of words from Close To My Heart.
The small stick on gems are from my stash .

I enjoyed creating these but now I must away to catch up on some comments .

Perfect Partner

Hello , welcome to my room .

Have an order for some vintage cards .  Tonight will share another of my efforts .
This beautiful image was a Birthday gift from Jane
called Perfect Partner from Papermania Art Decor..
I have paper pieced her frock and coloured the rest with copics
added a pearl to her hat and a strip of pearls about the middle of front of card
Paper is from SU , Comfort Cafe.
I would have liked to colour his suit black but was too timid so I stuck with grey .
Hope that the image looks ok over hanging the part frame I placed it on .
What do you think?
The image is about 14.5 cm tall .

Love this image and now I cant wait to spend that craft shop voucher that Fran and Sandy gave me .

When I do I dont know where I will put any thing I do buy ..my room is bursting at the seams .

Well might go and make myself a milo and see if  Michelle wants to sit at her PC and have one with me . Will get on with some comments then I think ..

Have to check out her new  Australian on Line shop  too , I hear there are some great new masculine stamp sets on show .

vintage look

Hi there blogging pals . Welcome to my room . Thanks for popping in .
 Hope that you  and yours are well . Are you settling back into some sort of routine now that the festive season is over?
Doug and I always say that at our age , every day is a holiday .
Yesterday , Friday, Sandy and another friend Fran , met us for coffee and gave me a fabulous birthday  card and a craft shop voucher ..thank you girls .I will certainly enjoy spending that !!
Being cooler today , Doug and I were able to gopher /walk out for our coffee this morning ,then out again later for Twiggy's run in the park . Totally enjoyable .

Then it was great that I was able to spend time in my room ..

Friends and Flowers .

Oh Boy,  midweek already .

  Hello blogging pals , welcome to my room and thank you for calling in .

Had a senior moment on Monday . I published my DT post  for Make it Monday and forgot to add my POTW . Well , I have edited my post and inserted my POTW . I do hope that you will scroll down to see which entry caught my eye last week.

Tonight though I have a  what I think is a vintage style card  to share .
The image is printed from a CD , the name of which escapes me for the moment .

The card stock is from SU , the paper from my stash . The paper bow is a diecut from Die-namics, MFT,  as is the corner piece.
The centre piece has flowers and butterflys as 3D but I forgot to take photo to show that .
 I love this  type of creating with CDs for quick cards . Bit like baking a cake with a packet mix . Just add a little touch of your own and a little tweek here and there and it becomes an original .
Just the thing when time is short . Hope you like it anyhows..

70th Birthday cards

Hello hello hello , nice to see you .
Welcome to my room .  Thank you for popping in .
Hope that your week is going well .
I have been playing with my card making program on my computer .Gosh this is fun , but boy it can run away with time and ink .
I had to create some cards for a 70th birthday.
Plain I think but reasonably happy with mixing and matching computer generated images , papers and sentiments .
I printed out papers added an image and sentiment , then layered onto various card and onto card base .

 

 

 

 

These little cards took me all afternoon and I really  enjoyed the crafting .
I hope you enjoy the viewing .

Vintage elegance

Hi there ,thank you for calling  in .Welcome to my room . Hope that you and yours are well .
Another blast of Winter weather here today and for the rest of the week , it seems .
Just a quick post with a couple of  card photos . Have plenty to do before Michelle and family arrive for visit .

Have been playing with a CD-ROM,  free with a magazine .

This particular image is , Jean,  from Decor Follies. She comes complete with back ground papers

Using my microsoft publishing programme , I chose  first,  the  tan flecked paper then the smaller gold coloured panel then " Jean " and after layering together I printed it out  onto Whisper White..

I then trimmed to size , layered it onto some Confetti White card , then sponged edges with T H. Tattered Rose Ink . Then , leaving small border I adhered to base card of Soft Suede.

I had wanted to  embellish with  flowers or somesuch

but settled for a few rhinestones from my stash .

And for the inside I printed out " Jean " again , cut her out and placed her inside onto same background paper and on the side of some Very Vanilla card for a greeting .
Love these free additions to magazines !

 Loved this T-shirt  diecut and stamp set . I cut two shirts in Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie card and cut the collar and cuff  from blue and paperpieced them onto Pumpkin Pie shirt .

Well a photo heavy post but still a quick one I think ..Just looking now for my thought for today .

Vintage with digi

Hello there ,everyone . Welcome to my room ..Hope that your weekend is a happy one .
Dinner is prepared , just curried chicken and rice and  rhubarb and apple and custard  for dessert cooked .Washing out on line so my time is my own ..
So enough time any way to share a card that I made last night
The little lady is a digi image from a site that has free vintage images . { when I find it again I will share it }

The little lady and bonnet 3D on front , was already coloured . The fence, also 3D,  is from Kaszazz and it is watercoloured while the papers  are from a 6"x6" pack of unknown brand . 1/2 pearls from my stash .
