Tyranid Hormagaunts | Hobby

It's been a long time since I've done an type of army painting. Most of what I've done has been one off models or skirmish warbands. So it took me a little longer than I was expecting to churn through 10 of these hormagaunts. Really makes me look forward to when they immediately get wiped off the board in turn 1 of a game.

How I Painted 3rd Edition Tyranids | Paint Recipe

Like many Tyranid enjoyers, I find the cover of the 3rd Edition Codex to be a particularly evocative cover. It just has this look to it that oozes aura and dread that a seething mass of ever-hungry aliens with exude. As such, when it came time to pick a color scheme for my escalation league Tyranids, it was an easy choice. I actually used the hobby section of the 4th Edition Codex to find the right colors, so don't ever get rid of your old books!

It's been like what, pshht, I don't know, almost 3 years since my last 40K post? And in the post before that I was talking about how much 40K I was going to play (spoiler alert: none). Where do I find myself since then? A ton of Mordheim, a smattering of other games like 1490 Doom, and a whole fleet of little ships. I guess I did play some Necromunda, which is in the same universe. Hated it though. So why am I picking these models up again? Well, the game group I play with all of the time is planning on slow grow campaign using One Page Rules (OPR) Grimdark Future, which is to say a simplified clone of 40K. I finally had an excuse to get some work done.

Tutorial | Solving the New Screamer-Killer's Male Pattern Baldness

The 40K hobbying has begun, and it started with the latest FOMO box, Leviathan. I'm keeping all of the Tyranids and trading away all the Space Marines for even more Tyranids because Space Marines suck and I don't like their aesthetic. But do you know who's aesthetic I like even less? The new Screamer-Killer. It looks like it needs a toupee so as not to be mercilessly mocked. And besides, I like the look of the old Carnifex kit better anyways. With the power of converting, I can have the best of both worlds!

Space Din-O-Pinions | The Path to 40K

After physically moving my home, I am now ready to also make a metaphorical move in my hobby space. Since it’s inception, this blog has focused on all things fantasy. I just really like it, I think it makes a nice canvas for creativity, and the gaming is more fun to me and logical, because if you have a tank driving around, it can shoot much farther and more destructively than the table would allow. So usually I leave the sci-fi or historical to the video game world. But (and to the disappointment of TLLW, sorry, no historicals....yet) I will say, Warhammer 40K 10th Edition was looking real juicy with those new space bug/dinosaurs, the Tyranids.
