So tired.

I think I might be sickening for something. I am feeling the cold which I never do!

Mind you, sleeping with two dogs, a cat and a husband does not result in a restful night. I could kick Jinx off as she is the one on the bed the longest and prevents me from moving my leg which causes my hip to hurt. But she is not coping with the stress of everything at the moment and I don't want to upset her further. Animal lovers will understand, I am sure. I can't even go and sleep in the spare bed - it's been styled!

Today I baked a batch of biscuits (cookies for some). I haven't baked since Christmas and it was nice to get back into it. Himself mowed the front lawn. Hopefully the last time.

Tomorrow I will go around the house and make sure things are clean. You know the stuff. Where the dogs lie against the walls and where the cats rub up against the doors. You don't know? You  haven't lived! I was going to make a pot of pumpkin soup to have on the stove on Saturday along with the cheesy rolls but Himself said that was a bit much. His loss. No pumpkin soup for him.

I bought a couple of wrist supports for the old grizzler. He said they are helping.

Apparently there is no law in place to say that wearing seat belts on buses is mandatory (unlike cars). Our illustrious leader is considering this. What is there to consider? Although, to be fair, who will be liable if the seat belts aren't worn? In a car it's the driver and the passenger. On a bus you can't really expect the driver to enforce such a law. They get shit for less than that already.

Haystacks for dinner tonight. Quick, easy and tasty. Think deconstructed tacos using corn chips. NOT nachos for some reason. Haystacks!

  1. You raise some interesting points. I have often wondered why fines are dished out to car drivers and passengers who are found not to be wearing their seatbelts and yet we don't need to wear them on public buses or trains. It doesn't make sense. In the new house may I suggest that you ban animals from the bedroom but that rule should not apply to Himself!

    1. I would like to think that would work but in reality I know it wouldn't. It's only recently they have both started sleeping on the bed - I think it's the stress in the house.

  2. I'll have to look up Haystacks...unfamiliar with the term.
Hope all works out the way you need it to go...

    1. Not sure you'd find them, Donna. When my kids were on a school camp the cook dished them up and they became a family favourite.

  3. Could you see that poor driver trying to get kids to buckle up…and stay that way. Seemingly he’s distraught thinking about what has happened to those who were ‘in his care’
It’s strange (in a good way) to see - when on tour coaches o/seas - Australians put their seat belts on as soon as they get comfortable. Nobody else does.

    1. Being a school bus one could argue that it would be a requirement to ride the bus but we are all wise after these sorts of events.

  4. Shit I'm terrible at keeping up to date with other bloggers! Seriously, you have so much going on (all exciting) and I didn't even know. Sorry.

    1. No problem, Chris. You have a lot going on in your life, too!!!

  5. Schools in the USA deputize kids to serve on "safety patrol," and maybe you all could do something like that on the buses. The patrol kids could remind the others to buckle up. (And probably take grief for it!)

    1. Not sure how that would work here. Especially with that age group. Maybe a teacher could have done a quick check before the bus took off but that wouldn't stop kids from unbuckling once underway.

  6. I'm thinking you definitely need to get better sleep. With all you've been doing and the way you've been pushing yourself so hard, good sleep is absolutely necessary. If you need to sleep in the spare room, do it! I can't imagine that one slightly imperfectly styled bed could dissuade someone from buying a house.

    1. I didn't explain that well. The bed hasn't been made up like a proper bed. I would have to strip it and make it again and at 3 in the morning that ain't gonna happen!

  7. You have a lot going on in your life, so it is important to get plenty of sleep so you don't run yourself down. Haystacks sound interesting, enjoy.

  8. Your close to burn out and that’s understandable
Rest as often as you can. Maybe some vitamins will help you to at least not get too sick. Hang in there.

  9. I understand. Lola gets the middle of the bed while I balance along the edge so I don't disturb her when I know she isn't feeling well. Other times I have no worries nudging her aside. i agree with Angela you might be close to burnout. It has to be stressful keeping the place "styled" while still living in it.
