Christmas Bookmark

I love to play along with the TAG-ALONG & ATCs CHALLENGE - which now includes the option to enter bookmarks.

I am an avid reader, so I thought I’d make a Christmas bookmark to comply with the December theme of RED AND GREEN.

I found a snippet of red patterned paper (trimmed it to 5.25” x 2”) and glued it to a white snippet (trimmed to 5.5" x 2.25”). I didn’t have any green paper, so I mixed blue and yellow Distress Inks on a white tile and painted a couple of white snippets of card to die cut foliage from. I also die cut some white berries - so, with a bit of artistic licence - it looks like mistletoe! Indulge me!

As a finishing touch I wrote the words “Read A Good Book” with a Sakura Gelly Roll 08 pen and tied the ribbon into the punched hole at the top of the bookmark.

Materials:

  • Red paper snippets “Ladybug trails” by Doodlebug Designs
  • White snippets of card
  • Distress Inks: Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers - used to make green!
  • Hidden Leaves Dies by Sizzix Code 664581
  • White Sakura Gelly Roll 08 pen
  • White ribbon from Hobbycraft
  • Hole punch

Thanks for dropping by. I’m off to find a Christmas tale by Trisha Ashley to settle down to read so I can use my new bookmark!
