Possibly one of the greatest FF of all time. the sphere grid system is freeing and great. Swapping party members mid fight is awesome.

You absolutely need to look up the 4gb green screen bug patch though because it is a super drag. that is my single complaint of the pc port.

Final Fantasy X still puts other JRPGs and Final Fantasies to shame. SquareSoft took the number 10 seriously and made a 10/10 game for the PlayStation 2 in 2001.

Even though the level design is linear, every area is filled with secrets, and each location feels different and almost open. The game motivates players to explore, take their time, and pay attention to their surroundings. It even surprises players with secret boss fights, including super-secret bosses that become available upon completion. The maps are full of hidden locations and things that players need to be aware of.If you explore one area, go back to the same location after progressing a little bit. You may find something new.

The game’s turn-based combat system is still unbeaten to this day. You can inflict buffs and status effects on your enemies to create powerful combinations, such as the Zombify + Heal combo. However, bosses can pull off similar combos against you. Furthermore, you can switch party members and change their equipment mid-battle. The game gives players a huge amount of flexibility to create and execute their own strategies to defeat enemies.
The options are limitless. What modern game gives players this many options?

Nobuo Uematsu is the legendary composer who made a generation’s childhood magical. Some say the Final Fantasy VII OST is his greatest work, but I would argue that FFX is his magnum opus. “Zanarkand Ruins (A Fleeting Dream)” still lives rent-free in my mind.

It’s because the newest Final Fantasy titles—Final Fantasy May Cry XVI and The Witcher’s Final Fantasy Remakes—on the PS5 could not create the same feeling for me. In my opinion, players yearn for turn-based JRPGs with compelling stories, incredible music, and innovative gameplay. Therefore, a small French indie studio mopped the floor at the GOTY awards last year.

Final Fantasy X ruined my gaming taste because I started comparing every new JRPG to FFX—a game from 2001.
It is a 10/10 game that everyone should experience.
