What’s new in Messages on Mac?
The Messages app in macOS Ventura offers new features you can use to collaborate on projects more efficiently, unsend a recent message, watch a show or listen to music together using SharePlay, and more.
Search for an image, or items and text inside an image (such as “bike” or “For Sale”). See Search for a conversation.
When you want to collaborate on a project (such as a document, spreadsheet or other file), you can send an invitation in Messages and everyone in the conversation is automatically included. When someone makes a change, you see activity updates at the top of the Messages conversation. After you view the changes in the other app, get back to your conversation with just a click. See Collaborate on projects.
Everyday messaging is even more powerful. Unsend a recent message, edit a message you just sent, recover a recently deleted message and mark a conversation as unread so you don’t forget to reply later. See Unsend or edit a message, Delete messages and conversations and Mark a conversation as unread.
Receive an invitation from someone using an iPhone or iPad (with iOS 16 or iPadOS 16.1) to use SharePlay — just click Join to begin viewing or listening together. See Join SharePlay in Messages.
Keep track of more content shared with you in Messages, such as Books and some third-party apps, in the Shared with You section in corresponding apps. See Keep track of shared content.
Personalise your Memoji look and style to match the real you — more hairstyles, headwear, noses and poses. See Create your Memoji.
