CD6 is defective
DeleteCD6 is defective
DeleteCan you please be more specific about what defect you heard on CD6? Did skip happen on any of the tracks? The log file shows that all the tracks have been accurately ripped from CD 6 using the X Lossless Decoder and there was no error during the process of ripping.
Delete@luis: OK, I have re-listened to CD 6 from beginning to end. I didn't hear any skip. The noises originate from the recording venue and the pianist's movements on his seat, all captured on the master tape. The remastering engineer had not applied de-noising in order to preserve as much musical micro-data as possible. And please remember the recordings on CD 6 date from 1967 and 1969.

Delete@Luis & @Anonymous: All six tracks on CD6 had been submitted along with all other CDs and the scans to the blog administrator without any issue. What I checked are the original files on my own PC and they are all OK. As I did not download from the links posted here on the main blog by the blog administrator, I had no idea that the first track on CD6 was missing earlier. A while ago, the blog administrator has found out he had left out the track when re-uploading my files to the file hosts and added the missing track. The problem should be resolved by now and you could go on to enjoy the recording.
DeleteThank you
DeleteCD6 is missing the first track.
ReplyDeleteTrack 1 on CD 6 was missing indeed. Repaired now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
ReplyDeleteThanks for fixing this.
Delete@Bodtje: Thanks for fixing the error. In future double-checking and publishing one CD from a boxset at a time is the safer way to go instead of publishing one whole boxset in one go.
ReplyDelete@Summerview: This may just be a coincidence; In the past, publishing multiple CDs in one box has not caused any problems. Bodtje is always very accurate about this. In any case, it provides a lot of listening pleasure. for which many thanks are due.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. It's now suspected that the earlier missing track 1 on CD6 could have been caused by the very long file names for CD6's tracks tagged by the online CD metadatabase connected to my XLD ripper. This may not have been an issue within the Mac environment I work with, but in the Windows environment Bodtje works with, problems occured. Windows' sign limit could have prevented files with very long names from being fully transferred to the online hosts during the re-uploading process, causing track 1 on CD6 to be left out.
Delete¡Muchas gracias, Summerview y Bodtje!
