finally busy!

Finally did some scrapbooking. I felt awfull, so Patrick took care of the kids for some time so I could quietly finish up challenge 33 for Creabest. The challenge was to make a layout about an important thing/event/whatever in 2009. So i made a LO with Henrie and me, because I'm so grateful to have met her in Arizona. She is such a wonderful friend and I hate the ocean to be in between us. Thank goodness we have Skype and email!
And when I finished that I quickly altered a cheap calendar for 2010!

Mini album from toilettissue rolls

I saw this idea at Youtube and thought it was so neat. So made one myself for my neighbour who just started scrapbooking. Isn't this just too cute?

Challenge: Scrappassion Challengeblog

The challenge this time was: Make a page about your Christmas habits/rituals/customs

So as you might know our Matthew is our Christmas Boy, so our Christmas has changed a lot for the last 9 years!
Instead of a nice and quiet christmas breakfast, we celebrate his birthday in the morning with the whole family. And in the afternoon we go into "Christmas Mood" and have a nice dinner with a small part of the family.
It is nice to see family that we normally wouldn't see on Christmas and celebrate with them.

This is how it turned out :

Skype!!

So last night Henrie and I had our scrap/Skype evening/day. That was so much fun!
She gave Patrick a layout from the site http://projectscrapbook09.blogspot.com/ to take with him to Holland. It is a site that does challenges acoording to the tv-show Project Runway. So the challenges that the contestors get on tv, we get in a scrapbook challenge! Yesterday we both altered the page they gave us to enter it into the challenge. Fun, fun, fun!!

It is so amazing when you think about it. Both of us working on the same project thousants of miles away... bizar.... I wished global warming would hurry up and evaporate the ocean or that the continents would shift a little so it wasn't that far away, hahaha. It's not fair to have found a friend so nice and not be able to do stuff or see each other that often... BUT Skype will do for now, better than nothing right?!!!

Ok, challenge #8. Alter the layout and make it your own... off course I have made a spread out of it to put it in my album...

Sure cuts a lot... LOVE IT!

I was trying a download for the Sure Cuts A Lot with my Crcut and now I know for sure... I LOVE the SCAL program!!!
Isn't that owl just the cutest?!! And it is so nice to use different fonts in one title without having to keep changing the carts and check in the little book what font, how big, which setting. This is such an easy program to work with. I'm not that good at the computer but I can easily figure out how this program works just by playing around with it and trying things. Also there are many good tutorials on Youtube if you can't figure it out. And those give you great ideas too!!

Photo's for the LO I have made this week when we went to the forest to collect fall stuff like chestnuts, leaves and so on....

MDF mini-album Efteling

YES! Finally finished my Efteling mini-album. I was on a roll last night and when it was finished and I looked up it was already 12.30 am! Not good for a mommy who needs all of her energy for the kids!! Hahaha.
But the kids let me sleep in today and I woke up at 9!! Wow!

Anyway, I love how the book turned out. It was a great weekend at the Efteling with my brother and his family. I never have a plan in my mind when I scrapbook, I just start and pull everything from my drawers and see what I think looks good and then go from there.
I liked working with the MDF mini album from Kaiser Kraft, it's nice, chucky, sturdy and you don't have to worry about wrinkling it. Nice!

Ok, I entered the album at a new blog (for me new anyway). It's a blog that does a challenge every month and it's called Scrappasion Challengeblog. This is the link. http://ria-scrappassionchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

Challenge #28 Creabest

We had to make a layout with one photo that was at least 8"x8". You could use more photo's if you wanted to.

I went through my photo's and saw these two and had the LO already in my head.

I had to laugh constantly because of them, it was so funny. Megan trying to pull Matthew off the airbed, but he was stronger and pulled her instead. The look on her face! Whahaha. She was so MAD!

My new toy....

My sweet husband has bought me a new toy for my scrapbooking. He gave me a PINK!!! mini laptop to work on my Cricut upstairs. The sweetheart! He even installed the program Sure Cuts a Lot to do loads of cutting and Skype, so I can Skype my scrapgirl in the States! How cool is that!??
Isn't she cute??!
I have been cleaning up my space so I can scrap again without everything being lost under piles of stuff.
And this is my new LO. Enjoy!!

Booooo!

My friend Henrie was "boo-ed" last year and told me about this cute concept. You make a giftbag with some goodies for two people/friends/neighbours with a sign that says: You've been boo-ed! Those people then can give two giftbags to other people and so on.
I loved the idea, but of course in Holland Halloween is not a big deal, although it is in the beginning stages here because of American movies. We don't have a lot stuff in the shops so I've made the giftbag and some goodies myself. i must say it turned out cute!
This is what I have put in it. I translated the rules in Dutch, printed it out and put it onto a piece of paper.
And this candy I just wrapped in a cute orange paper with a picture printed out on it.

I hope they will love it!!

CKC Convention!!!

It was so awsome at the CKC convention in Glendale! It was so special to go there on my own and have a great time with Henrie. We had two days to get rid of the jetlag and get our stuff organised and on Thursday we started of with a crop. We had a great room thanks to Mike, so we could finish up some more Layouts at night.

We bought these great shirts and began with shopping on friday. We made a list of things we liked and wanted to do or get and then went to our classes. The classes were very nice. Good, organised, and great outcomes. Just had to get used to the speed of the classes, but with some help from Henrie it was great! At night again a crop and saturday classes and the last of shopping and the crop at night.
Can you believe how many people at that crop!! Sooo huge!
Can you believe this was the stuff of two people for 3 days!!! Whahahaaha, sooooooo funny!
all of the stuff I've gotten, won or bought!! Can you believe it! And this was without everything I had brought myself, hahaha.
This class we liked best. It was so quiet, nice and organised. And what a lovely thing we made!
one of the four Layouts made at the Basic Grey class. It was a great class. Luckily Henrie knew we had to get the kit for the second pages of the class right away, so now we have 4 double layouts. One for every season of the year. Loved it!
And this was a layout from the Quick Quotes class. Loved it!!! The flowers in the pot... just so nice!
For this class we had to bring 12 photo's of things that bring us joy. Totally loved this class. It looks like a board book, but it is made of just cardstock and designpaper. Inside you can put 4"-6" photo's without cropping them, which Ithink is something i will definitely make again. LOVE IT!!
Another class we did was this Dutch Door book. It was fun to work with canvas and it turned out cute!

Well, we did a lot more things, but I can't get every photo on here. Make and takes we did were cute too. And doing the crops was so much fun. They gave away so many stuff! And did a lot of contests, like a 'mooing' contest. That really cracked me up. Contesters had to moo like a cow. Whahaha. Crazy!

CKC Glendale here I come!!!

Almost fully packed and ready to go!! So exciting!
Next week Henrie and I are going to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Glendale Arizona!!!! Yihaa!!
Monday I will be in a plane to visit my sweet scrapbooking friend. We will have a blast! It'll be so weird without my husband and kids, but so much fun. It looks like it is going to be a huge convention. (at least according to Dutch measurements)

Will tell you all about it when I get back!

And since I was on a go....

I finally made a spread from the one LO I already had. Again not a great photo of it, but if you click on it you should get a better view. I'd already put in the plastick and couldn't get it out for the picture, hahaha.
