Inspired by a Song at Allsorts

It's my pleasure to be the optional theme picker at Allsorts this time and I chose

Inspired by a song

We are BIG Queen fans in this house, and although were never fortunate enough to see them live have most of their music in LP, Cassette and CD form. Our boys could sing Bohemian Rhapsody and Killer Queen, word for word, from toddlers!!

Anyway, those aren't the titles that I have chosen to inspire you with, I have gone with

Bicycle Race

and

Fat Bottomed Girls

I am a big fan of Jules' sketches and I used Rectangle Sketch # 15 for both of my cards.

The first uses a favourite The Cats Pajamas stamp, coloured with Promarkers and teamed with some free design papers that came with a magazine a very long time ago.

The second is a fabulous rhino from Rhino Rascals by Tracey Hey together with an excellent sentiment that we should all remember girls!! Coloured again with Promarkers to match the  Dovecraft Paper Posies papers.

We have some pretty bluebells down our lane, this was silly o'clock on Tuesday morning!!

NB I am not a weird shape, it's my body protector!! At my age I really should give up extreme sports!!

Thank you for dropping in  xx

Allsorts Mask or Stencil

Val has chosen our optional theme at Allsorts this time and it's

Stencil or Mask

I had a ball with this theme, once again stepping out of my comfort zone and I embraced BOTH!!
Started off with a very old stamp from Tracey Hey when her stamps were available at Mama Makes. I love this cute fox so stamped him twice, once on the marker card and then one on a sticky sheet.
Masked him up and stuck the funky fossil stencil over the top and got inky!!

A super prize from from Lisa Horton Crafts, Pansy Corner layering stencils with coordinating die and embossing folder. Plus an extra prize of two stencils....

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I have to say it's been glorious in my part of the world, everything is looking greener and spring colour is everywhere.

See you soon xx

Anything but square

Happy Saturday crafters and I hope this weekend is a good one for you. I am sending a hug to anyone that's in need of one.

So back to the business of Saturday and a new challenge over at Allsorts. It's a two week challenge this time so we are planning to make good use of the time by sitting in the sunshine drinking Pimms  or any other tipple that takes our fancy!!(who am I kidding?! We are in the UK!!)

The theme to tempt you is Anything but Square or you can opt for Anything Goes if you prefer.

Here is my card to inspire

It's been a while since I used a Tracey Hey product so I decided to go the whole hog and use one of her pretty paper pads - Rainbows Rule Again as well as a stamp. The adorable rhino and sentiment are from the Rhino Rascals set, which includes some really lovely words and messages. I coloured the image with Promarkers and fussy cut to sit on the paper, which looks like I stamped it but didn't!!

I really enjoyed making this card, another tick in the box for using supplies haven't seen the light of day for some time!!

See you soon xx

Beginning with B

 Happy Monday everyone.

I might have mentioned before but I am not a lover of blue, unless it's navy so I never reach for it in crafting. The new challenge starts at The Cutie Pies today and the theme is Beginning with B so I challenged myself and used Blue as the starting point for my cute card and here it is.

I have surprised myself and actually love it!! I have no idea where the pretty paper came from but, as luck should have it, I had a perfect piece of cardstock to mat it upon. I had previously used the lovely set from Tracey Hey  and therefore knew that it is a LARGE stamp so didn't need any frippery. I had a lovely time colouring the beautiful bouquet. In reality the large blue flower is more the colour of the paper, cornflower blue, but the camera has, once again, done strange things!! Fussy cutting such a large piece was a challenge...Pauline, you would have been proud of me!! Promarkers, of course, were used to colour everything and good old Pinflair glue gel adds some dimension.

I hope you will join us. Numbers in blogland seem to be getting lower and lower, both in visits to my blog and also entries in challenges. I know it is sometimes easier to click a like but honestly, you have no idea how much your comments and visits have meant to me over what has,  personally, been a really difficult couple of years. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Take care all and see you later in the week xx

Twofer

I always have good intentions when I spot challenges that take my fancy but, more often than not, fail to make time to create a worthy entry. A planned visit to hospital meant that I gained an extra day at home this week so actually managed to make these to take along to Darnell's Twofer Challenge where the theme is "Critters".

It was the first inking of one of the stamps in the Tracey Hey set, Rhino Rascals that has been sat on my desk for several months now. They really are adorable and come with lots of "different" sentiments and lots of diddy filler stamps, the heart background being an example. They were coloured with Promarkers.

I used three different shades of red ink to create the background on the panel above. It wasn't until I had finished that I realised that there are actually four different heart stamps and I only used two!!

The paper panel on this one made the card look unfinished so I dug out a long forgotten tube of yellow glitter to weld the paper and white space together. The sequins were inspired by the current
Passion for Promarkers Challenge #510 - Sequins, pearls or gems.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. The forecast here in the UK looks rather good for now so we will be making the most of it while it lasts.

See you soon
