Everyday, or almost everyday in the NST, we read about two dogs, made famous because it was said that they could smell porno VCDs and DVDs.
Todays headline said:
Lucky and Flo have become an enforcement unit in themselves and they have optical disc pirates on the run.
This is what Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry deputy director-general (enforcement) Iskandar Halim Sulaiman had to say about the 2 Labradors and the successful fight against piracy:

"The successful Johor raid (at Holiday Plaza, Johor Bahru) was due to intelligence gathering and the dogs' remarkable sniffling abilities."
In fact, the Labradors are here on demonstration pending sales. The Ministry is eager to buy the "millionaire" dogs. The owner is also eager to proof that his dogs are exceptional and can sniff out porno VCDs and DVDs.
However, they didn't tell you that if you hang any optical discs up in the ceiling and hang many of them, the dogs will get topsy-turvy and will be" sniffling glue".

It is interesting to note that NST promoted the dogs to such extent as to claimed that the Labradors are now wanted dead.
NST claimed that the piracy Taikos are putting up a unilateral offer to anyone in the world-at-large who would be paid RM10,000 for the head of the Labradors.
Was this real? I asked those Taikos. They laughed.
In fact, they were amused by my statement.
The NST went further to add:

The Sniper dogs needed bodyguards.
Of course security and safety is always paramount to any life.
But I doubt the Taikos are having sleepless nights or migraine over the threats posed by the Labradors.
In reality, it was observed that none, no Taikos had in fact had a manufacturing plant at the 8th floor of Holiday Plaza. That plant was quickly set up for the occasion, the special occasion to commemorate the arrival of the Labradors.
There were discussions and it was agreed to set up a manufacturing plant at a premise so that the dogs can perform their demonstration with success. The plant had to be real but not too expensive. Some out-dated machines were installed and the discs were cheap; so quite some discs were on "display" at the premise. Then, on the auspicious day, the Ministry and the Labrador was sent in to display that great talented show and it was declared successful.
Don't make a fool of ourselves. Those tycoon pirate-ers aren't so foolish as to rent the premise at Holiday Plaza to do manufacturing there. In order to use the premise, the tenant had to rent that space. The tenancy agreement will reveal all and the tycoons will be exposed. The risk was just too high and frivolous for anyone to be so brave as to put up a manufacturing plant at the city center complex.
After the show is over, the news continues infinitely. The spinning is on as if the seller is buying advert-spaces in NST.
But I went for a walk last week at Holiday Plaza. I expected that the plaza will be haunted, and many stalls should be closed due to the successful dogs. To my amazement, the whole plaza is full of VCDs and DVDs and the business was brisks. In fact the stall owners were so enthusiastically promoting their new movies and latest softwares.
I went to other places in town to observe and survey the VCD and DVDs businesses. Almost every complex that had been trading these products were doing well and bravely doing well.
To conclude, the cooperation between the Ministry and the cartel was fantastics. They are capable to perform great shows and the general public should be amused by their super ability in performance acting. The dogs also played a great part to make the movie exciting and real.
Afterall, its a movie and a great one too.
