Fishing with Dad

Father & Son Fishing is the just released collection from Frantic Stamper Inc.  So many wonderful masculine dies and coordinating stamps all following a fishing them.   Perfect for the men in our lives, no matter what their age.

For this card I have used the Canoe & Paddle Die.  I cut the canoe six times.  Three times in different coloured paper and three times in a wooden effect paper to represent the inside of the canoe.  I then cut the coloured canoe to sit on top of the wooden piece to give the canoe more dimension and a realistic look.  The sentiment is from the new stamp set called My Favourite Dad.   The layout is completed with a couple of strips of striped paper and  a length of twine tied with a little charm.

I have to admit masculine cards are not something I often make but these dies were fun to use.

Kennedy Grace Creations Sketch Challenge April

I actually really like sketch challenges and this first one from Kennedy Grace is great.  I flipped it up to portrait and had to switch the flower to the other side as I didn't want it to cover my sentiment "you inspire me by being you".  If you haven't you should check out the You Inspire Me stamp set from Kennedy Grace,  the you, inspire and me by being you are all separate and you can mix and match them to form the words and style you want, so much flexibility. The little flower is  from Grace's Happy Heart stamp set.  Its a branch but I fussy cut a single bloom. I added some Watermelon Spritzer sequins to balance the flower and add a little sparkle.

Now stop by the other Design Team members to see what loveliness they
have created from this sketch HERE.

Just Because

I loved making this little card with some of my favourite Frantic Stamper word dies, "just because" and "awesome".

My inspiration was a little boy who has had multiple surgeries in his short life and has recently left hospital after another round.  He really must be "awesome" right.  I wanted my card to be bright and fun and to make him feel good.

I coloured some white card with pencil and blended it to get a rainbow effect.  I wanted the words to really look colourful and to pop off the white background.  I cut two sets in white card and the top in the colour, so three layers.    I stamped the you are so it reads "just because you are awesome".  I added a little monster for a bit of fun.  I really love how it turned out and I hope it brings a smile to this little lads face.  (Happy to confirm it did just that).

There are three gorgeous new sequin mixes to add to the already beautiful
collection of mixes available.  Don't you just love these names.

Paris in Springtime, Hollywood Glam, and Honey Bee

There is a new stamp set to add to the small but growing collection This one is called Grace's Little Notes.  A beautiful combination of Blooms and sentiments.

My first card features one of the blooms from Grace's Little notes.  I masked it and stamped it up the side of my card.  I wanted to match is with the Honey Bee sequin mix so went with yellow and cream tomes. I used Believe from the lovely sentiment stamp set "You Inspire Me" which was released in March.   I fussy cut around the flowers so I could pop them up with foam tape.

My next card showcases another of the flowers from "Graces little Notes"  I stamped it multiple times to form the Wreath of flowers using a little bit of masking.  The hello and just because are separate sentiments included in the stamp set.  I used the Honey Bee sequins again, just not the black.

Two totally different looks form the same stamp set.

Be sure to comment along the way as we are giving away a $15.00 gift certificate to the Kennedy Grace Shop to one lucky winner.

I had lots of fun colouring him.  The papers are from my stash and went perfect with the image and the challenge.  Finished off with the sentiment "Smile", as its pretty hard not to smile at this image, and some love Kennedy Grace Creations sequins.

Moms Kitchen

Mom's Kitchen is the new release from Frantic Stamper Inc.

Its such a fun "retro" range.

This card features the Oven Mitt & Pot Holder Die.  I dug out some October Afternoon papers that are just perfect for this release.  I cut two sets of mitts and pot holders and faux stitched around them.  Then used the scalloped border die to make my "shelf" for them to hang from. The mitts are popped up on foam just for some added dfimension. Finishing touch a seam binding bow and a sentiment to compliment the overall card.  How cute is this???

Inspiration Challenge at Kennedy Grace

Exciting  things this week at Kennedy Grace Creations.  It's the very first challenge.!!!  This is the picture to use for your inspiration , which I have to say is simply gorgeous. So much loveliness to choose from.

I decided to play along and used the colours and the flowers in the top right corner.  Grace's Happy Heart stamp set has the perfect flower to try and replicate these colours.  I did some masking to get more blooms in the section of my card I wanted to colour.  My card layout is sparked from the dress, the ribbon forms the band around the waist.  The sequin mix is Mint Julip as the colours work perfectly, mint and silver.

Make sure you visit the Kennedy Grace Creations blog
for some wonderful inspiration.
Can't wait to see what you create and
there's a $15 store credit up for grabs.

See you soon.

My door is always open

Moms Kitchen has just been released by Frantic Stamper.  If you love Retro you're going to love this release. This card features the adorable little Frantic Stamper Pots & Pans die. I used a double die cut method for the pots and pans, die cutting them twice and cutting away the inside part from the pattered die cut and gluing this onto the plain card stock die cut.   I stacked three pans one on top of the other.

The idea was to recreate a cupboard so the Double Sized Rectangle and 2 Squares die fit the bill perfectly.   I cut it twice, once in white and then again in the blue, using the 2 squares to form my cupboards. Leaving the double rectangle out created my shelf for the pots and pans to sit on.

I went through sheet after sheet of paper for my background before I decided to keep it white and embossed it with little flowers, textured wallpaper you might say.  Placing the cupboard towards the top of the card allowed me to hang a pot mitt and my sentiment, which I made to look like a little sign.

You've got to love these little pots and pans.
