3rd Blaster of 2013 Topps

I'm picking up my Hobby Box of 2013 from Cleve's (LCS) this Friday and I'm giddy with anticipation.   I have to say it's going to be hard to top the fun I've had from opening the retail blasters though.  I guess I've had some good luck so far with the 3 that I've bought.  Most of the comments on the first two I opened Monday revolved around the number of Bryce Harper cards I hit

I decided to pick up a 3rd blaster yesterday, and in my opinion, my good luck continues.  The only complaint I have is that this time I got a Commemorative Patch rather than one of those nifty rookie card reproduction patches.  But this was still pretty cool:

And, let me get this out of the way, I did get another Bryce Harper card:

I would rather have hit a Jurickson Profar, but I'm sure there will be one of those in the hobby box Friday.

My favorite card in the box though:

This card is so brown and so beautiful!  Great, great card!

I guess I also got one of those SP cards of guys reaching over a fence:

I'm a little dubious on this.  I already see a bunch of these on eBay, and I get one in a blaster so I'm not sure how "SP" these really are.  But it's a cool card nonetheless.

And I got a few good inserts too.

I really need to stop buying blasters, but I'm on a roll so until the lovely wife catches me, there's probably more to come.

Fresh From The Market: 2013 Topps Blasters

Using my CIA operative instincts, I followed a hunch and stopped by Walmart today at lunch.  I could sense something exciting in the air, and- wa-la! 2013 Topps cards were being stocked by the retail rep.

There were some retail boxes, blaster boxes, hanger packs and single packs (no rack packs at that time).  When I saw the types of manu-patches that were included in blasters, it was an easy decision on which format to buy.  I picked up a couple of blasters, (which will be fun to explain to the lovely wife later today), and here are some of the spoils:

These patch cards of famous Topps rookie cards are the bomb!  I'm definately going to want more of these suckers.

I guess I should have started with the base cards and worked my way up, but I am very excited about the patch cards.   With that said, here are some base cards:

An Adrian Beltre in my first pack!  That's got to be a good sign!

I really like the design on 2013.  It's understated and tasteful, with a touch of whimsy.  I just made that up, and don't know what I'm talking about.  But I do like the design.

I only got a few parallel cards, and none of the Camoflage or Pink ones that have been previewed.  These emerald cards are really pretty though.  Since I bought these at Walmart, there were some of the standard blue parallels that always come with their blasters.  I didn't take any pictures, but I wish I had taken one of the Jose Reyes card, simply because it shows him in Blue Jays uniform.

Here are a few of what I guess are the standard insert series.  These are ok, nothing that got me too excited.

I do like the 1972 minis.  They're the same size as the 1987 Minis from 2012.
Finally, I hit one of the die cut cards.  These are very similar to the die cut cards from recent Chrome and Bowman Chrome sets, but nice all the same.
