40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Things That Fly

We are now on week 15 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

This week the prompt is Things That Fly.

I had lots of ideas, but when it came down to it, I ran out of time so did a simple butterfly water decal accent nail instead.  The main colour did not photo true, the colour IRL is much more darker and deeper.

See what other participants did in this challenge via the inlinkz below.

Tweed Nails

I saw these on Saranail's blog, and totally had to recreate.   I should have used a brush to do the darker crosses on the tweed nails instead of my dotting tool.  Lesson learnt and I know what to do next time. I loved these so much, I only took them off yesterday (I had them on for a whole week).  Here is my version:

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
Sally Hansen - Tahitian Sunset (base for the tweed nail)
China Glaze - Side-Saddle (middle, thumb and tweed)
NYC - Full Metal Jacket (Ring)
LA Colors - Shock (yellow for the tweed)
White Striper for tweed
Gold Striper
Seche Vite

Sally Hansen Saran Wrap

Saran Wrap manicure again.  I can't remember the name of the dark shade but it was Sally Hansen.  Saran wrap shade was Sally Hansen Ion.
I couldn't resist and topped it with a glitter coat of 151 by Golden Rose. SV to finish if off.

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 14 - Flowers

Day 14 (week 14) of the ER31DC - Flowers.  This is my flower design.  I did this a few weeks ago, I absolutely loved the colour combination.  I wore it for about 5/6 days, I did not want to take it off.  I also got to use my new Sally Hansen polishes that I bought from Fragrance Direct.  Great application, I found the brush a little tricky as I have not used this type of flat brush before.  Having said that, once I had done a few coats I soon got the hang of it and found the application quite easy.
Items Used:
OPI Nail Envy
Seche Vite top coat
Sally Hansen - Put on the Black (burgandy)
                    - Lavendar Cloud (white)
                    - Grass Slipper (green)

19 October 5/7 - Party Animal Bling

Well I am still remembering to photo my lacquer with each new manicure.  Here it is dark vampy burgundy with a hint of glitter in it already, but I bling up the manicure with more glitter on the ring accent nail.  Simple but effective.
Items used:
Color Club - Sulty Diva - Gold Glitter
LA Girl - Party Animal - Base colour
Nail Envy
Seche Vite Top Coat

9 October 2/7 - Random Nails

My second mani of October - again note to self "... take photo of lacquer used."  I don't know what colour or make this is, but it could have done with another coat or two, too many bald patches.
As always Nail Envy for base and SV for top coat.

Dark Vampy Nails

For a change I wanted to wear a dark colour.  I hadn't for a while, so I went for this un-tried OPI colour.  It is a gorgeous dark burgundy shade.  At night time it almost looked black. Lovely.
Items used:
OPI - William Tell Me About OPI
SV top coat.

Green and Purple Sponge

Thought I would show you my bare nails before painting them.  The aren't as yellow as I thought they would be and the length is also good.  BUT, this is my famous left hand, which is always photographed, the right hand... well the nails for some reason are in a slightly worse condition.
The ring and middle finger just won't stop peeling and splitting.  So I went for the chop, my RH nails are a lot shorter than the LH.  It had to be done.
The manicure now.  Well I saw this on a Korean site a while back and thought I would give it a go.  I have searched high and low for the site but can I find it?? So if you are the owner, I thank you for the inspiration.
This is my version, I have to say I did this at about 9pm while in bed!!  I did not have the energy to do the swirly flowers so just dotted mine.  Overall I was happy with the effect although not sure I will wear this colour combo again.

For this manicure I used:
LA Girls Disco - Can U dig it? - the green base colour
OPI - Vampire State Building - the burgundy sponge
White acrylic for the dots.
Seche Vite top coat.

Why I have been AWOL for a few months....

LONG POST.................
Apologies for not being on here since September.  But that is when I went back to work and a new role at the school.  It kind of took over my life and then what with work and home life it just got too much to keep up with my blog.  But I did photo my nails every week.  I just did not have the time to edit them and put on here.
But I took this evening off to do all that and post my manicures for the past 3 months.

So here goes:

SEPTEMBER:
This manicure still sporting my rounded nails tips.  This was a lovely shade and went on perfectly and opaque in two coats.

Multicoloured sponged manicure, using obviously many colours over a white base coat.  Note new squoval nail tips.  I got very bored with the rounded tips and went back to my square nails.
But after a few days I got bored with the above colours and painted them with Models Own Purple Grey.

OCTOBER:

Lots here again, some have the bottles of lacquer photographed so easy to know what I used, others not so easy and I who knows what I used....  But where I can I will tell you.

Here I can say I used China Glaze Oh How street it is, a gorgeous vibrant orange.  I loved this colour.  I know you can see VNL but my nails tips are quite white so it can be very difficult to cover up.  I know some people don't like this, but I really don't mind at all.
This next one is an OPI shade a lovely rich dark burgundy colour.  Only problem is I can't remember the name!
This is either China Glaze or LA Girl, not sure which, but is was black/blue with micro glitter in it.

My Favourite colours and manicure.  I love this and have done it a few time previously also.
This is Nails Inc - Prince Of Wales Drive here for Haloween nails.  Freehand pumpkin nail art for each nail!
Thanks if you have looked at this,  I will later on post my nails for November and December. :o)
