AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Hi there!
So my husband asked me if I had a sympathy card, and of course I didn't!
I told him I'd whip up a quick one, and I grabbed the Oh Happy Day set from Avery Elle. That reminded me of their AEI{heart}U challenge this month, which is "winter".

Challenge 32

Here is my card...

I said a quick one, didn't I!?
I kept it very simple :-)

This bunny is from the More Stories set, the animals in this set are just so adorable! They all look so soft and peaceful.
I first used the silver glimmer paper for my snowbank, but it was too bright and sparkly, so I grabbed the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum pack instead.

I can't say this enough, but I love this sentiment set, so pretty!
I heat embossed this one with Pool Party.

I used 2 sizes of snowflakes from the More Stories set, stamped them all over the base with the Encore Silver Ink.

Winter has finally arrived here, it's been super cold and snowy this week!
I think when you're sad, it might help to look at falling snow and listen to the silence that brings, and acknowledge your sadness. Acceptance is hard, but I believe that is the first step in order to recover. I hope this card helps her even a tiny bit, probably not though...:-(

My notes...

Stamp: Oh Happy Day, More Stories (Avery Elle)
Paper: Whisper White, Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Pack
Ink: Smoky Slate, Encore Silver Ink, Versamrk
Tool: Heat Tool, Pool Party Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stitched Hillside Border Lawn Cut (Lawn Fawn)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Hi there, crafty friends!
I have another Christmas card to share today :-)
This was inspired by the AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle.

Challenge 31

I know, so fun!
Here is my card...

This card is so front heavy, it wouldn't stand alone...lol :-P

I heat embossed this gorgeous wreath in gold then die cut.
I picked the shimmery red cardstock, vellum, gold foil sheet, and Metallic Gold Thread to go with but I got stuck there!
This card sat on my desk unloved for a few days, then I really wanted to finish it so went through my embellishments, and there she was, my lovely deer from Maya Road! I dressed her up with a bow, mounted her slightly off centered so I could add some metallic stars next to her cute little head.

It just needed a little more color so those tiny red sequins were added on the wreath.
I love how this card turned out! Red is not my go-to color, but it's so Christmas, and it looks so festive with gold :-)

My notes...

Stamp: Winter Wreath (Avery Elle)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Gold Foil Sheet, Red Shimmery Cardstock, Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Versamark
Accessory: 1/8" Real Red Ribbon, Metallic Gold Thread, 10mm Star Sequins, 4mm Raspberry Sequins, 4mm Gold Star Sequins Pretty Pink Posh), Oh Deer Resin Charms Ivory (Maya Road)
Tool: Heat Tool, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Winter Wreath Elle-ments Die (Avery Elle), Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Saturday, October 17, 2015

Hi there!
I was busy with my sick kids this week, but finally got about an hour to play! It certainly is nice to get away from the realty and just create ;-) Of course I love my kids more than stamping, but you know we all need "me time" to keep our sanity!

I decided to play along with the AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle.

Challenge 29

Ooh, how fun is this!?
Here is my pretty in pink card...;-)

I wasn't sure how much time I had for myself so it needed to be simple.

I used my favorite pinks from Stampin' Up!, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.
I was going to die cut the sentiment in Calypso Coral but I thought that would be too sweet. Well, isn't Pear Pizzazz just so lovely against the pink and gold!?
I am currently in love with little pleats, I simply fold (usually vellum) randomly and sew it on. They look fabulous behind or/and underneath sentiments! I think I placed it too high on this one...

Those stripes were made with the Brushed stamp set, I love it!
My coral flowers are from the Oh Happy Day stamp set. I stamped that star burst thing on the flowers with gold ink, I  love Calypso Coral and gold together!

The Wonky Stitches Die has to be my most favorite die from Avery Elle, it's just so much fun! Just add some sequins and this card was done! I wanted to add more layers but the pinks had to stand out, so kept it clean ;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Oh Happy Day, Brushed (Avery Elle)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Gold Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Encore Gold Ink Pad
Accessory: Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Wonky Stitches and Simply Said Hello Dies (Avery Elle), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

Hello there!
Today I am playing along with the AEI{Heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle :-)

Challenge 28

Very interesting challenge, isn't it?
Here is my card ;-)

This design came to me when I was rocking my baby to sleep a few nights ago!
I was thinking, I want to use the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments Die with the Simply Said Amazing Elle-ments Die...

This sentiment die is amazing, isn't it!? The font is just gorgeous!! So I wanted it to be the focal point. I die cut it in the gold vellum. Those cute little flowers are from the Oh Happy Day stamp set, stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush. Those pretty leaves are Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Floral Ephemera.

I wanted a lot of white space but thought a little splatters never hurt ;-)
This turned out better than I pictured in my head, I love it!
I might go back and add a few sequins though...

My notes...

Stamp: Oh Happy Day (Avery Elle), Gorgeous Grunge
Paper: Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe, Gold Soiree SDSP, Gold Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush
Accessory: Tea Lace Paper Doily, Maggie Holmes Open Book Floral Ephemera (Crate Paper)
Tool: Wonky Stitches and Simply Said Amazing Elle-ments Dies (Avery Elle), Sewing Machine

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

Aloha, my friends!
I am playing along with the AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle Blog today!

Challenge 27

Here is my take...!

I know!! I finally got the pineapple sets from Avery Elle! EEEK!!
Is this fun or what!!? I think I am loving this card a bit too much...hee hee ;-)

I buy fresh pineapple every other week, I like to get a really green one and let it ripe on my kitchen counter. I have one that's not ready to eat yet, but the colors were so pretty with yellow and green! So that's how I colored my hula dancing pineapple after heat embossing with gold. The grass skirt was made with the fringe die, easy!

The sentiment, which came with the pineapple die, and the hibiscus were watercolored in Calypso Coral on the watercolor paper first then die cut/punched out. I love how my ombre turned out! I embossed vellum then stitched it on my base, but before I closed it up, I thought I would add some sequins. I love it!

My notes...

Stamp: Stay Fresh (Avery Elle)
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Watercolor Paper, Vellum
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral
Accessory: Sequins (Studio Calico)
Tool: Heat Tool, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Bouquet Bigz Die, Petite Petals Punch, Lulu Fringe Cutaways (Winnie & Walter), Stay Fresh Elle-ments Die (Avery Elle), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

Hi there lovelies!
I have a card I made for AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle's blog today! And it's a fun one...!

Challenge 26

Hello!? Sparkle!!!
Here is my sparkly card ;-)

Is this sparkly enough for you!?
I had wanted to use my pineapple for a couple of weeks now, and here it is!
I LOVE pineapples, they're yummy, and they make cute stamps!
I have wanted Avery Elle's pineapple stamp/die sets ever since they were released, but you know me, I have been shopping like I'm some kind of a millionaire or something so I'm trying to control myself.....

After all, pineapples are from sunny tropical islands, so why not put a fabulous pair of sunglasses on them!!?
I heat embossed my cute pineapple from the Pineapples a Plenty set by Reverse Confetti, then die cut those fabulous glasses in the Gold Glimmer Paper and gold vellum, I piled 2 tiny pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals on the center of them so they'd arch. I am loving them too much!!

When I decided to use the pineapple, I immediately knew this was the sentiment for it! The font was perfect! It's simply fabulous!! I brushed with a paint brush over the sentiment with Gumball Green, then splattered some water over it. I also stamped some splatter images from the same set with the Gold Encore Ink.

Added some gold thread and Gold Fancy Foil for extra sparkle.
That Gumball Green paper is from the Christmas pack, they're actually pine tree images! but I turned it up side down so you couldn't tell...Ha Ha :-D

I had to try a few different colors for my base, but with all that gold, black really accentuate the gold;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Brushed (Avery Elle), Pineapples a Plenty (Reverse Confetti)
Paper: Basic Black, Gold Glimmer Paper, Watercolor Paper, Gold Fancy Foil, Christmas DSP (retired), Gold Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: Gumball Green Reinker, Gold Encore Ink Pad, Versamark
Accessory: Gold Thread, Star Paper Clip
Tool: Heat Tool, Enchanted Gold Emboss Powder (Ranger), Glasses Die (Paper Smooches), Paint Brush

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Another AE card

Thursday, June 25, 2015

Hi my crafty friends!
I know... This is my third card for Avery Elle challenge...lol
But I just had to make this card, this is the design I had when I made my last card!

Here is my card :-)

Fun, isn't it!? ;-)
This die set from Avery Elle, Finished Frames, has these teeny tiny confetti pieces, and that's exactly what I used. I cranked the handle of my big shot 6 times to get every color of rainbow!

Since they're so small, what I did is, I cut my 1/4" tape into 2 vertical pieces, placed a bunch of confetti pieces on them, peeled off the backing of the tape, and separated them by cutting with scissors. That made the process a bit easier ;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Oh Happy Day (Avery Elle)
Paper: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, White Glossy Cardstock (Ranger)
Ink: Versamark
Tool: Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Finished Frames Elle-ments Die (Avery Elle)

Thank you for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Hi there!
I am back with another card to enter in AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle Blog!

I have already entered a card earlier this month, but I purchased this Avery Elle die set and got this idea with the rainbow theme!

This is actually not the die or the design I was going to use... I don't know why or how this happens to me! lol :-D

I wanted watercolor rainbow, and from there, my plan totally changed...
I splashed some gold ink all over after watercoloring, and die cut the sentiment, then die cut several more in the rainbow colors. I layered them slightly off set so you can see all the colors.

I am loving this layering-scrap-paper-style! It adds a little bit of colors and designs, and I especially like that oh-so-effortless look!
Right now, I am searching and trying my "signature look", and this just might be it... I have so many packs of DSP that I want to use up, and I really enjoy using my sewing machine!

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Dots DSP
Ink: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Encore Gold Ink Pad
Tool: Hello Die (Avery Elle), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Thank You Card

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

Hi there!
I need a few thank you cards for my oldest's teacher and her aides because this Friday is his last day at pre-school! I cannot believe how fast this school year was!

I was inspired by 2 challenges to make my first thank you card.
This one is for the teacher.

This week's challenge over at AEI{heart} U was my color inspiration!
How fun is this!!?

And here is my 2nd inspiration from Paper Smooches.

Okay, I know what you're thinking... How did this inspire me, right!? Well, I wanted to play this challenge and I only have one product from them (so I ordered several things!), the glasses die set! So that's an inspiration, isn't it!? Ha Ha

It's kind of funny because his teacher, Ms. Lori actually wears a pair of glasses just like these! So that's why this one was for her, I mean how perfect is it!!?

As usual, I layered 3 pairs of them for some depth, then brushed them with my blingie sparkly glitter pen.

I added some stars and they got some glitter treatment as well, after all, stars are sparkly! I just love the oh happy day stamp set from Avery Elle, the font is simply gorgeous!!

My notes...

Stamp: Oh Happy Day (Avery Elle)
Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
Ink: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive,  Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry
Accessory: Licorice Glittered Gumdrops (Your Next Stamp)
Tool: Glasses Die (Paper Smooches), Die-namics Stars STAX and Stitched Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things), Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, Stampin' Dimensions

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Thursday, May 21, 2015

Hello there!
I am playing along with AEI{heart}U #24 Spring over at Avery Elle Blog!

Challenge 24

Here is my spring card using the Avery Elle Products...

I apologize for the poor quality pictures...
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Oh Happy Day set with this very soft gold emboss powder, well, the gold is really subtle, and the sentiment is skinny so it was very hard to photograph it...

*~Update~*
It is such a sunny day here today, I decided to re-take my pictures outside:-)

I hope you can see it, because the font is just beautiful (that was the reason I bought this set!), and the gold is so pretty!
I watercolored the whole watercolor paper with the Soft Sky Reinker. When it dried, it looked more like Pool Party so I used the Pool Party Cardstock for the base.

I taped some washi tape at 1/4" and applied veasamark ink directly on the cardstock, then heat embossed the same gold powder to match the sentiment. The green comes through so this is not the true color of this gold but look how sparkly it is!

These lovely leaves are from the Look Up set, stamped on Pear Pizzazz with the Gumball Green ink, then cut out with my trusty paper snips. Nothing says spring more than fresh green leaves, ~oh happy day~

My notes...

Stamp: Look Up, Oh Happy Day (both Avery Elle)
Paper: Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Soft Sky, Gumball Green, Vearmark
Tool: Heat Tool, Ranger Enchanted Gold Emboss Powder, Scallop Border Punch, Paint Brush

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
