Thanks A Million

Wednesday, June 24, 2020

Hello, lovelies!
Happy Wednesday! I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with a couple of cards today. If you're not subscribed to the NND Blog, please head over to it and see the news.

Newton's Nook Designs Thankful Thoughts Set - Naki Rager

I made 2 CAS thank you cards in different shapes using the same stamp set Thankful Thoughts.

Newton's Nook Designs Thankful Thoughts Set - Naki Rager

First, I made this square card.
I die cut the scallop square panel using the Frames Squared Die Set, then heat embossed this fun sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set in rainbow colors. I also added rainbow sequins.

Newton's Nook Designs Thankful Thoughts Set - Naki Rager

I am really loving these slim cards so I just had to make one!
The same thing as the square card, I die cut the scallop panel first but this time using the new Slimline Frames & Portholes Die set, heat embossed the sentiment in rainbow colors.

Newton's Nook Designs Thankful Thoughts Set - Naki Rager

I love heat embossing using multiple colors!
You just have to be very careful, but it's okay if the colors get mixed a bit, in fact, it is better than okay! It's not like mixing watercolor, more like splatters of colors in a different color ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Thankful Thoughts Set - Naki Rager

For my rectangular card, I heat embossed this beautiful "thankful" sentiment in rainbow colors and "for you" sentiment in gold. I smudged the L a little bit {GRRR!}

So this was my last post as a Newton's Nook Designs Design Team member.
Ever since my cat Ramsess was diagnosed with leukemia back in February then passed away in April, my creative soul has been lost and I just cannot seem to find it. Jen has been extra sweet to me but I could no longer take advantage of her kindness so I have decided to step down. Trust me, this was NOT an easy decision at all, I LOVED being on this DT!!! I'm sure I will keep stalking the NND blog as I've never stopped :-)

A HUGE thanks to Jeniffer and Jeffrey Jackson who kept me on their absolutely awesome team, and my very talented and sweet teammates who inspired me more than they realize, and all of NND fans who adore Jen's talent as I do and left me very lovely comments :-) I've made so many friends because of this DT, wonderful, talented friends who share the same passion as mine!

Thank you so much!
See you around!!!

Hello, my lovely friends!
I think it's finally safe to say spring is here 🍀🌷🌱 Woo Hoo!
So today, I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with another spring card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Love Grows Set - Naki Rager

It is bittersweet to see those fabulous sets go, but it also means that NND keeps growing and Jen comes up with more awesome new stuff!
For today's card, I used the Love Grows Set, which is on the retiring list so grab one before they're gone!

Newton's Nook Designs Love Grows Set - Naki Rager

This was the very first floral set I got from Newton's Nook Designs 🌹💚
I started this card with heat embossing the vine image with copper embossing powder to create a wreath. All I had to do was place the stamp curved on the block ;-) This adorable little rose and little leaves were stamped and watercolored, then fussy cut.

Newton's Nook Designs Love Grows Set - Naki Rager

Isn't this yellow rose just beautiful!? My favorite color for roses is actually white, but I wanted bright spring color ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Love Grows Set - Naki Rager

I can't stay away from the new Essential Alphabet Die Set! It's just a really nice size and I adore the font Jen chose!
I wasn't going to use the tiny flower image but it certainly needed more colors so there they are ;-) and I'm glad I added them, just so adorable 💗 Copper Nuvo Crystal Drops was applied to the center of them to match the copper wreath ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Make sure to check out the Retiring Products List before they're all gone!

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today! Woo Hoo!
Can you believe today is the last of January!? Seriously, where does time go!?
Hope you all got your favorites from the NND January release and had some time to play with them ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

Honestly, every set from Newton's Nook Designs is my fave, but this adorable Deer Friend set, which is one of the newly released sets this month, totally stole my heart 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

This sleeping fawn is just so peaceful and sweet, I'm simply in LOVE with this image 💗
So I stamped this cutie on 4"x5-1/2" watercolor paper with Antique Linen Distress Ink then watercolored. I love the soft look of no-line coloring, but on this babe, I did a bit of what I call "fuzzy coloring" as well. I didn't go too crazy with the fur, only made the outlines look fuzzy. I also watercolored grass, and colored the sky with very very light blue.

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

The sentiments that come in this set are also very sweet 💗
I used this one because this is a thank you card for someone who is very dear to me. I heat embossed the sentiment with dark brown, then with the new Tumbling Hearts Stencil (another item I am so in love with 💗), I lightly sponged some hearts around the sentiment.

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

I distressed the watercolor paper to make this panel look like a page from a vintage book. Then I was going to add washi tape and be done, but I got the idea to use my crepe paper AKA: streamer. I made raffles and sewed in the center, then glued it down on my base. I placed this skinny washi tape on the ruffles, and mounted the front panel on top.
It turned out to be sort of shabby chic and I just love it!

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

I was going to stamp thank you on the inside, but I did this instead ;-)
The sentiment is from the Simply Relative set, which was stamped with dark brown. This set is an awesome set to have for sure! I also stamped the fern image from the Deer Friend set with green to dress up a bit ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
We are going to have a fun blog hop this Friday so please do come back!

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Hello, lovelies!
Have you heard of STAMPtember?
Over at Simon Says Stamp, they collaborate with many of the manufacturers that they carry in thier shop and make exclusive stamp sets that are only available in the Simon Says Stamp Shop in September! And Newton's Nook Designs is participating again this year!
(Just a note:This set will not be available in the NND shop!)
I literally squealed when I first saw this set!
I mean, just look at it!!! {eeeeeeeek!}
This is called "Loads of Thanks", as you can see, you can kind of mix and match different loads for the puppy's wheelbarrow, how cute and fun is this!!? :-D

Here is my take...;-)

These images are so sweet, I had to do no-line coloring and sponged background for a soft look ;-)

I stamped this adorable pup pushing his little wheelbarrow image with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper, then stamped the kitty with pumpkins image right on the wheelbarrow. Oh my goodness, it's so sweet I can't deal with it! {LOL} They must be best buddies, and went pumpkin picking on a beautiful fall day...:-)
As you can probably tell, this was fussy cut, but the coordinating die set will be available in the Simon Says Stamp Shop along with the stamp set today ;-)

I am totally in love with this sweet sentiment 💗
It was heat embossed with copper embossing powder on the front panel, which was sponged with Distress Oxide ink on watercolor paper, then splattered some water and orange ink. It needed a bit more sparkle, clear sequins were just perfect ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Make sure to go to Simon Says Stamp Blog and check out what the rest of the DT made with this adorable set, which is exclusively available in their shop while supplies last! Don't wait too long because they sell quickly! ;-)

Sketch For You To Try!

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

Hello, my lovelies!
Happy first day of summer! Woo Hoo!!!
I hope you are having beautiful summer weather :-)
Today, I am playing along with a couple challenges! I know! It's been ages since I last played any challenge!

My son's school is finally ending tomorrow and I needed a couple of thank you cards for his teachers. The Sketch For You To Try challenge over at Reverse Confetti had this cute sketch ;-)

I had wanted to play the CAS Watercolor Challenge ever since I found it (gosh, I don't even know how long ago!). Totally me, right!?

Alright, here is my card...;-)

The last day of school means the beginning of summer! YAY!
I am probably more excited about it than my son is because mornings and I do not get along! {LOL}

I got this cute little worm guy from Reverse Confetti when they had their sale!
Isn't he just the most adorable wiggly guy ever!? I stamped his striped body with pink first, heat embossed the wormy with gold, die cut him with the coordinating die, and colored his little face with my Spectrum Noir Marker. Same process with the apple, and the sentiment was also heat embossed with gold.

So where is my watercolor? The three strips of watercolor paper have the ruler and pencil images heat embossed, and they were water colored with blue and yellow ;-)
I chose the vellum with tiny polka dots for my big circle because I didn't want to totally hide the 3 panels behind it, and this card had a lot of patterns and colors already! This green paper with striped dots may seem too much, but it actually ties everything together. I have stripes on the worm, pencils, and ruler. Polka dots can be found on the apple, the vellum, and my little Mr. Worm is made of circles as well ;-) And the green matches the worm's head and the leaf on the apple ;-) The pink base is unusual for me, but it is picking up the pink on the worm and apple.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 3

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Hello there lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release Reveal!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 17th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 3 and we are showcasing this amazing, gorgeous set "Cottage Garden" along with the coordinating die set!

Oh my goodness!
Isn't this just so very beautiful!!?
As soon as I saw this set, a few designs popped in my head immediately!

Alright, here's one...:-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cottage Garden Set - Naki Rager

First of all, I apologize for my photo quality lately...
Ever since I switched my phone, I can't figure out how to take clear photos! Ugh!

Anyway, my first design was to emboss these gorgeous images in many different colors! Well, not as many as I planned...{LOL} My girls have these pajamas that have solid animal images in mint, coral, and gray. This stamp set totally reminded me of them and that's what I wanted to recreate, but because I decided to use kraft for my front panel, the whole design had to change ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cottage Garden Set - Naki Rager

Here's one of the reasons why I love photopolymer stamps...
I bent the flower image as I was placing it on my clear block to get this look ;-)
The sentiment was heat embossed separately on each side with the Weathered White Emboss Powder, love the distressed look with the Scandinavian-ish images!
I thought framing this beauty was the best way to showcase it, and first I grabbed green to add one more color, but I remembered this old patterned paper pack from Stampin' Up! that had the same coral color, and wow! the patterns on this one were just perfect!
No embellishments were needed on this rustic, homey design!

Freshly Made Sketches 275 (again!)

Saturday, February 18, 2017

Hi there, Happy Saturday!
Yes! I made time (aka:skipped some house work...lol) to make another card for Freshly Made Sketches!

I just love this sketch...:-)

58fc33a4b2196b3d687ab65298a29cb9

I am also playing along with the Pin-Sights Challenge over at Ellen Hutson!
I know! I'm really enjoying playing these challenges again!

Funny, I had already had this design in my head when I saw the inspiration board!
And you all know that aqua is my favorite, and go-to color!
So this was not only fun, but pretty quick to make ;-)

I heat embossed the table set image with gold tinsel emboss powder (I know! I am addicted to this color!) on watercolor paper, colored the plate with Pool Party and silverware with Yellow Gold from the Starry Watercolor. The sentiment and a little branch were also heat embossed with gold tinsel, then I filled those little circles with Versamark marker then heat embossed with Pool Party.

I thought I grabbed Pool Party seam binding but it doesn't look the same as the other Pool Party on the card, does it? I didn't notice it until I uploaded my photos...{LOL} I wanted to keep the front panel all clean and white, but I had to add this beautiful gold rose washi tape on one side, and Pool Party striped washi tape on the other! And instead of my usual sequins, I used a few gold glitter gumdrops. My personal craft goal this year is to use more embellishments that are sadly sitting in a box!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 385

Sunday, November 20, 2016

Hello lovelies!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Lawn Fawn!
One lucky winner will receive a stamp set and a 6"x6" Patterned Paper Pad of their choice from them! Wow! So generous of Kelly! Thank you!

We have a theme challenge for you this week!
Oh my goodness, I just LOVE these simple little cupcakes!
So stinkin' cute!!!
Here is my take...;-)

So we all know very well that Lawn Fawn has such cute images with punny sentiments, and amazing dies! Well, I was so very much inspired by the cupcake photo and wanted to use their alphabet set.

The Owen's ABCs set is such a fun and cute alphabet set!
I heat embossed thanks with white on kraft then used the 1/2" Circle Punch.
I sewed those skinny banners then adhered the thanks on them.

I wanted a super CAS design just like the photo.
I sponged Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distressed Ink onto watercolor paper, splattered some water with a paint brush, then lightly stamped that teeny tiny heart from the Get Well Soon Set with gold ink.

{my notes}

Stamp: Owen's ABCs and Get Well Soon (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Kraft (SU!), Yellow Vellum (Studio Calico), Watercolor Paper
Ink: Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distressed Ink (Ranger), Encore Gold Ink and Versamark (Tsukineko)

Inky Paws Challenge 37

Friday, October 21, 2016

Hi there lovelies, Happy Friday!
The new Inky Paws Challenge is starting today over at the Newton's Nook Designs Blog and I am joining the fun!

What could be cozier than nice, warm, plaid blankets!?
Not to mention they're so pretty!
Alright, here is my take...;-)

I have the perfect patterned paper for this card!

I first picked this yellow plaid paper, then got the other colors right from it.
I actually am not sure if this ribbon is the same yellow, but I loved the nice, thick, knitted texture so I said, close enough! Hee Hee ;-D

I even used another plaid paper for the sentiment!
I layered a couple brown cardstock underneath the sentiment ti give a little dimension.

Look at all these warm, cozy colors! Then there is this light blue, just fabulous!
This was so very fun to make, and I love how it turned out, too!8569

{my notes}

Accessory: Metallic Copper Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Hello Honey Ribbon, Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine (SU!)

Hi there, happy Friday!
We have a new Inky Paws Challenge starting today over at the Newton's Nook Designs Blog

Aww, I LOVE burlap with lace!
So rustic and romantic...:-)
Here is my take ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Pick-a-Pumpkin Set - Naki Rager

Summer is getting closer to an end, it's kind of sad but I love fall!

Newton's Nook Designs Pick-a-Pumpkin Set - Naki Rager

This was my first time inking up these lovely pumpkins, and I am totally in love with them! Look at the woodgrain on the gold one! Beautiful!
Some gold thread was placed between the pumpkins for some texture ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Pick-a-Pumpkin Set - Naki Rager

I have a lot of burlap, was going to do so many projects with it but so far, I've done a few of them...*LOL* The burlap, lace trim, and ribbons were all sewn together right onto my kraft base. Copper sequins were sprinkled all over the card for some sparkle, and to add one more fall color ;-)
