Attic Room Makeover

This weekend we worked on a little makeover project. Well mostly my sweet husband did most of the work. Anyway, this is our attic room, also known as the Prayer Room (named that from the previous homeowners). I had just been having a fit to do a whiteout in this room.

This is after the first coat of paint.

Here is it! All white and bright. I can't tell you how much I love it.
I can see snuggling up reading, or napping on a rainy day in this sweet little room.
Of course I have to get a twin size mattress and pretty white bedding, and do more decorating.

I was so excited last night when a sweet lady who lives near us sent me a message after seeing the Prayer Room pictures on Facebook and asked to come do a photo shoot in the room with her daughter in her prom dress. We're thinking white chair and ottoman...she said she has other ideas too. I can hardly wait.

Pie Safe

The pie safe/cupboard below belonged to my husband's grandmother, Mammaw Blanton. I have heard lots of stories about great biscuits that were kept in this pie safe. We have had it a long time and intended to bring it into our home, well this past Sunday my husband spent the day working on it.
We're so proud of it and happy to have it inside it's new home, our kitchen.

Getting ready for Easter

I know I am a little early with my Easter decorating but, I just couldn't wait. I had new things I was dying to display. The cute little bunny, a yard sale find $3. It was an awful color so I slapped some new paint on him. The "Easter" eggs with chicks on the top is the cutest thing ever! It looks antique, pictures just don't do it justice. Best of all, it was $4.99! I found it while shopping at Abby Nicole's in Winfield, AL. It's the neatest store, they sell a little bit of everything.

Candles and Wire Basket

I really enjoy antique shops, especially when I can piece together cute little things like this.  I found the the candles in one booth, you can always use candles, especially when they're at at a good price.  Then I kept browsing and ran across the wire basket in another booth. Brought them home and wrapped some lace that I already had around the candles and I think it's a very cute thing.

Valentine's Day Gifts

I am such a lucky gal, well more blessed than lucky. Look at the wonderful things my sweet husband gave me for Valentine's Day. Beautiful flowers and pretty birdcage, aren't the hearts just precious he has hanging in the birdcage, he wrote sweet things on them for me. I have always wanted a birdcage for our front porch, I plan on putting candles in it, and maybe a plant. It's really large so that is making me do more thinking as to what to do with it.

Including the Hubby

Our master bedroom may be aimed more toward my taste when it comes to decorating but my hubby does have a little area with some goodies of his. The old bottle is from my hometown, a Columbus MS Ice Co. bottle, I really don't know much about the bottle but it's believed to be a old Coke bottle. He also has a collection of old wooden tops, you can't see them very well but they're in the white candle box. I love the little American flag, flags have always been something I like using here and there when it comes to decorating.  The red oil lamp belonged to a late great aunt of mine, so it has special meaning to me.
Ok, so some of these things in this display are mine, but some are his too. :)
