A New DT Post

I was so thrilled to be accepted onto the Design Team for My Time To Craft. I have followed and entered many of the challenges since I first joined in blogland, it has always been one of my most favourite challenge blogs, and now I am part of the team. Woweeeeeeee! thanks to Shell and the remainder of the team. For my first week there is a sketch to follow. I do like sketches for they make me look at designing in more ways than I would normally, taking me out of my comfort zone, therefore learning new ways and techniques. Which after all is what challenges are all about, isn't it. I literally flipped the sketch and used papers from fizzy Moon and LOTV. the stamp is an old favourite of mine - Santa from Inkadinkado. I look forward to visiting you guys over the next week. Have fun.

Sketch # 177

At Sunday Stamp and Sketch this week Anne-Marie has designed Sketch #177 for us, please pop over to the blog to see how the remainder of the DT have developed her sketch. Remember it can be any orientation you choose as long as the sketch is recognisable. I matted an embossed piece of sandpapered Core'dinations onto pink card, added a triangle of design paper with roses and leaves. My main stamped image is an Inlylicious stamp, - French Rose -  which I coloured with Distress inks, added some gold mix Frantage on the edges and on the main image. Embellishments added are a metal butterfly and Card Candy. I am looking forward to commenting on your entries, this is only my second time as a member of the Design Team so I am hoping you will enjoy my inspirational cards.

New Design Team Post

Well I have had a break and am ready to start afresh with a new Design Team post. I was so thrilled to be invited to join Sunday Stamp and Sketch challenge blog. This being my first DT card, but I have entered their challenges a number of times over the the past year or so. I like the concept of having a sketch to work from,
and the freedom to choose whichever stamps I would like to use within the design. For my first card, I decided to use the LOTV Kraft Christmas paper.  I have been longing to use this since I bought it at Doncaster show. Along with some Fizzy Moon Festive Fun papers. The stamp is from Little Claire, coloured with Promarkers with Glossy Accents glaze over the icing. Yummee! I look forward to being part of this amazing team who have some wonderful inspiration waiting for you. Wishing you lots of  fun creating from the lovely sketch designed by Kim.

I do enjoy working from a sketch and over on Sketch Saturday I found I was inspired to make the above card. pop over to their challenge blog to see their rules and the sketch. I do like their sketches in particular for I find them an interesting challenge. Today I made a card for a girl, with the theme of a female pirate from Crafty Sentiments, the skull and cross bones (swords) are from Tandastamps, (sadly no longer in business).
My background papers are from a 12" sq pad from Grace Taylor. Coloured with Promarkers. I added a covering of Glossy Accents onto the skull and swords. Thanks for the lovely inspirational cards and the challenge sketch.

'In Trouble Again'

I made this card with two challenges in mind. Firstly the monthly challenge at Crafter's Companions  Challenge blog - May's challenge is Masculine, using at least one item from any of their products. This stamp, called 'In Trouble Again' is from the Paintbox Poppets  stamps range.  The Design of the card was created following this sketch
from  Sketch Saturday. I used papers from my scrapbook papers stash along with some Core-dinations card. I used Promarkers to colour the little boy image. He so reminds me of one of my grandson's, who is also regularly in trouble. LOL Two lovely challenges combined on one. Thanks to everyone who created these challenges. I'll be back again.

Sketch # 6 at ATS and More

How do these weeks go so fast? Time already for our challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. This week your challenge is a Sketch # 6. It will actually be our last Sketch challenge for Kylie our wonderful leader in Oz, is having a re-vamp of our challenges, which I'm sure you will read about on the blog.  This is the sketch for you to follow.
My background sheets are from a pretty paper pack which was free with a magazine. I particularly wanted to make a card with blue flowers. I stamped the branch directly onto the pretty paper. The flowers were stamped onto spare card and coloured with Promarkers, I did add a dot of Crystal Clear Glamour Dust to the centre of the flowers.
Stamps - Branch and flowers - Sheena Douglass Always Floral set.
Greeting stamp - Sheena Douglass - Only Words Through the Rain set.

#5 Sketch at Addicted to Stamps & More

My Card from #5 Sketch at Addicted to Stamps and More

#5 Sketch Challenge.

Our sponsors for this week are
I have great fun with the Sketch challenges for they usually help me to think of doing something different and  to slip out of a rut, for if your like me, I can easily slip into a comfort area and stay there, for instance most of my recent cards have all been square so it was a nice change to make a rectangle card. I have used a Crafty Inspirations stamp for the main image, I stamped it onto a piece of card I had previously prepared in my 'making backgrounds session' a few days ago. I covered the page with TH Distress inks, Worn Lipstick, Victorian Velvet and Broken China, I then sprayed water on it , left it for a few minutes, rolled a kitchen towel roll over it. I also used a free stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine, added ribbon and gems with a greeting.  Have fun with our sketch, I know I will enjoy visiting you over the next week.

Sketch #3 at Addicted to Stamps and More

Well, it's Sketch Week 3 at Addicted to Stamps and More, I enjoy working with sketches. I will be honest, and say I didn't at one time, but I have found they are inspirational, I find I design cards in a way I may never have previously thought of and being honest, how many of us need to sometimes venture from our comfort zones. Here is my interpretation of the above sketch, but please do look at our blog for there are some fabulous samples from the design team.
Apart from the greeting there is no stamping on this card, which is, for me, moving from my comfort zone.
I embossed the background on a pink card, then matted onto dark brown paper. Placed the picture from Crafty Individuals in the centre, First framed and raised with foam pads a fancy die-cut square, then a smaller die cut square to complete the frame. Added pearls for a feminine touch. Looking forward to seeing how you have been inspired by the sketch.
