Monday...

Good Morning, I hope your day
has started off well.

We had a great weekend !
Our neighborhood had it's annual
Garage Sales, we did not participate
this year. I did go to some of the sales
though. One of my favorite sales was
the . 25 sale my neighbor was having.
Everything except the large furniture
was a whopping quarter.! Forgot to
take a pic but I picked up a nice size
universal calendar that you use a dry
erase marker on, two very nice vintage
tablecloths--yep vintage, some baking
pans and a white porcelain like Holy
Family.

BUT the BIG score for the day was that
cutie in the picture above! Wanna guess
how much...I'll wait. FREE!! Yes, indeed
friends. I said FREE. It was on her curb
with a bunch of other stuff. I cannot tell
you how excited I am ! Looking forward
to putting this on my porch this winter.
I did tease Mr. Ken that we might have
"Christmas in July" just so I can put it
out. He looked at me as though I was
kidding. HA! HA!

This week will be busy around here. I am
working at Bible School three days plus
getting ready for family to arrive on
Friday. We are all going to the Royals
game that night. On Thursday and Friday
I will finish prep for them. Saturday we
will do fun stuff and on Sunday we will
all go down to my brother in laws to
celebrate Father's Day.

Whew I'll need a rest on Monday.
Mr. Ken took some vacay time next
week so who knows what will take
place!

I hope to be back again but not sure
with this crazy schedule.

Random Thoughts

Happy Wednesday!

It is HOT here! I am not a fan.
Spring left very fast.   :(

We need some rain, getting a bit dry.

Ice Cream is becoming a daily thing.

Who gets a sore throat in June? I am
blaming the air conditioner and the
heat.

I love 70's music.

Do not miss the early alarm to get
up.

Salads are my fave in the Summer.

Told you it was random. :)

I'll be back soon with Part 2 of our
Oklahoma trip.

WHAT, I haven't posted this month???

Ummm....apparently I missed the memo
saying that it is March. And I haven't
done one post. Holy Cow.

Well let's see.

March came in like a lamb.
Our sweet neighbor left a container
with Pansies on our porch, nice surprise.
Repotted them last Sunday. Such happy
flowers.
We had a very productive weekend mix
of fun and getting things accomplished
here.
Mr. Ken had a 10 year work Anniversary
yesterday! We enjoyed a very nice carry-
out dinner from a fave restaurant.
Today Mr. Ken was able to sign up for
his vaccines through work. This is a
big relief for us.
HAIRCUTS TOMORROW!!!
THE weather for Wednesday here will be
unseasonably warm 75 and winds upward
of 50 miles an hour. So if I don't post for
a bit, I might have blown away!!

That is it so far this month!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Did you Know?

Hello from the tundra of Kansas! Been home
from school since Friday, yesterday was remote
training and the other days were remote teaching.

Today we are talking Coffee Filters and what you
can do with them besides the obvious.

1. Use them as covers on bowls in the microwave.

2. Wipe windows, chrome and mirrors when
     cleaning. They are lint free.

3. Protect your china by separating each plate
     etc with a filter.

4. If you have a cast iron skillet, put ne in the
skillet to absorb any moisture and prevent
     rust.

5. When shining shoes, ball on up and shine
     those shoes.

6. Taco Tuesday coming up?  Use the filters
     to hold your tacos.

7. When potting plants, place one filter in
the bottom of a pot to keep the soil from
     going through the drain hole.

8. During the warm months or when you have
popsicles, poke a hole in the filter to catch
     any drips.

9. Place your fried bacon, fries, chicken etc on
a plate with several filters on it to catch the
     grease.

10. Use as sewing backing to embroidery or
appliqueing. They are easy to tear off.

11. These make great Christmas ornament
       wrapping for  storage.

12. Popcorn and a movie? Great for holding
your popcorn treat during movie night.

Can you think of more?

Here and Gone

Good Sunday Evening to Everyone!

Here we are on the last day of January.
Where did the month go? Seems like the
New Year just started.
It was a busy month relatively speaking.
Lots of birthday wishes sent, a friend got
married, cars to the shop, locksmith called,
Friday night we started taking down the
Christmas tree, I think this was the longest
we have had the tree up. It was time though.
Yesterday, we finished the tree project, now
get it and the rest of the Christmas stuff in
the closet without locking the door. :)
We are still painting yes . Not much left.
Didn't have it in us this weekend, wanted to
get some other things done.

Our county has designated teachers and school
personnel at high risk especially those of us who
work in Special Ed and work with students that
have difficulty keeping their mask up so I get to
go get my vaccine on Friday! Hopefully we will
get to a point soon when we don't have to wear
our masks 7 hours a day. Makes teaching hard.
But we do it.

Hope you had a productive January and you are
doing well.

What Can YOU do with Chopsticks?

Hi!

I think we need a dose of levity
today. I have a fun post for you.

Things to do with chopsticks
(other than using them to eat
with.)

1. Unclog a bottle of glue.
Obviously, stick the tip in the
top of the bottle to clear any
glue.

2. Plant label.
Write plants names on the top
end of stick and place in your
plants.
ie: veggies or herbs

3. Baking assistance.
Use a chopstick to level your
dry ingredients in your
measuring cup.

4. Pit Cherries.
Poke the narrow end through the
center, then push the pit through.

5. Bathroom cleaning tool. :0
Use the tip to scrape dirt and
grime from grooves and hard to
reach areas.

DID YOU KNOW?

Using a chopstick involves more than
30 joints and 50 muscles in the finger,
wrist and arm and shoulder. Plus a lot
of patience and dexterity. I don't use
them. Tried but no. : )

Hope you enjoyed!

Take care friends. Remember: WASH
THOSE HANDS and STAY SAFE!!

Different Type of Catching Up

Happy March, ours came in like a lamb
but not so much here the last two days.
Very blustery!

Celebrating being a woman. Some days
strong others not so much. Thanks to all
my strong friends for being who you are.
Go girls!!

Time to tidy up the yard. Last Sunday and
yesterday we did yard work. Stuff that was
left over from last Fall. Good to be outside
after being in so much.

The Leprechauns are coming! The
Leprechauns are coming!

Four days this week with students,
Friday is a work day AND next week
is a MUCH needed Spring Break!

Did you turn your clocks? I think this
change is the hard one for me.

Mr. Sun Came Out Today!

We interrupt the "catching up" posts to
say "Bye Bye" February. It has been an
interesting extra day. My brain kept
thinking it was March.
Looking forward to more sunny days
ahead. We had 60's today and more
tomorrow but less sun. Mr. Ken did
some prep work on the deck. Getting
ready to rebuild from our take
down from last Fall. I worked in my
sewing room, tidying up from our
hanging a t.v. on the wall. Now I have
entertainment in the sewing room.
Also beginning to think flowers,
flowers and more flowers! But waiting
for no more frost to occur.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Leap Day!

A New Month

Happy November!

Hope yours has started out well.
Mine began with a birthday.  Me :)
Lots of  fun at school and home.

I saw this cute chart on Facebook.
I think it is supposed to be geared
toward kids but there are a lot of
things that we as adults can do this
month.

In this month of blessings and
gratitude make someone's day.

Happening's

Hello!

Here's what has been going on in our
world. We are in the process of tearing
down our deck! This was the roof.

Roof gone!

Albino squirrel playing in the scraps from
the tear down.

Northeast walls came down this past week-
end!

This is what is left plus floor braces for the
walls. In the spring we will start a new with
a freshly buffed floor and new stain then we
will build a new railing aprox 42' high.
THEN we will begin painting the
house. Oh boy!

This is my cousin-in-law fulfilling one of
the things on her bucket list. She said it
was AWESOME.
Though not for me!

Fun at school, melting crayons on a
pumpkin.

Annual Chili Fest Fireworks.

It was a chilly evening for Chili fireworks
but it was so  fun.

We went to one of the last ball games of
the season. KC didn't have a great year
but we had fun supporting
the team.

More fun at school--bobbing for apples.
This is my co-teacher.

Stacking apples after reading
Ten Apples Up On Top.

One of my students spinning me
around--pinning apples on a tree.

That's what is going on besides the
daily goings on.

MIA

It's late, but I wanted to pop by to say
that I am still here. Life has gotten
a bit hectic and I haven't had time
to devote to my little blog.
I hope someone is still out there
waiting for me to post!

I plan to post within the next day or
so.

Thanks for your patience!

A New Month

Happy September!
Can't believe we are in a new month
already! On Sunday I will have been
back to school for a month!! That
is so unbelievable!

I love this candy mix so much!
Definitely reminds me of Fall.
I like the "Indian Corn" better
than the Candy Corn but I
will eat it too.

Picked up two Mums over the last
weekend. Just small ones. Might
get more later.

Tomorrow is Friday!! Yay!!!

Enjoy and have a great
weekend!!

School supply "Hacks"

Happy Hump Day!

Back to School is just
around the corner for most
of us. Unbelievable I know!!

Today  I have some different
uses for some of those supplies
we used in school and still use
today.

Rubber Bands

1. Tight jar lid?
Slip a rubber band around the
edge of it for extra grip.

2. Painting?
Secure a rubber band across
the opening of a paint can,
use it to scrape excess paint
off your brush.

3. Doing your nails? French
Manicure?
Slip a rubber band on your
pam from pinkie to thumb.
Slip a finger under the band
so that the nail tip is exposed
then paint that part of the nail.

 Remember those pink erasers?

1. Let me preface this one by
saying...not too sure.
Need an earing back in a pinch?
Well pop the eraser off a pencil
and slip it on your earring.

2. Silver need polishing?
Rub an eraser on the surface
to remove any tarnish.

3. Shoes or boots have scuff
marks on them?
* Might test on an unseen spot
first.
Gently rub the eraser over the
surface. Wipe off.

This little item is NOT just
for  keeping papers organized.
Oh no!

1. Do have a clogged brush?
Go find a paper clip, open it
up and use the loop to get
that hair out of your brush.

2. Has the mail arrived?
Instead of ripping open the
envelope, unbend the clip,
slide along the top--no more
ripped envelopes.

3. Humidity got your S and P
shakers? Open up a clip and
poke it through the clogged
holes on your shakers.

So now you have some new
ideas for those "school"
supplies.
