Throwback Thursday
Throwback Thursday has arrived
at Dreaming and I am doing it
with a twist--my way. :)
Me above 15 years ago. Long hair
and younger. :) Getting ready for
my first day of school.
Me at the beginning of this
school year. Short hair and
older. Not sure how much
wiser but ... :)
A veteran. Never thought
I would be at this job for
almost 15 years!
What were you up to 15
years ago?

A Place to Find the Unexpected
Mr. Ken and I stopped
at a "moving sale" on
Saturday. I like these
type of sales because stuff
is usually inexpensive and
I like to see what people
are trying to unload before
they move.
After wandering around
looking at all the items for
sale, I decided on the bag
of eggs--for school fun, the
blue cloth-which goes VERY
well with our blue picnic stuff,
and the clock. It is Wesclox
brand clock. Love it for it's
vintage flare. Currently it is
living in my sewing room
because it tick tocks too loud
to be in our bedroom.
The best part was that I only
spent $ 4.00 for all three items!

Thrify Thursday
I was browsing through one
of my favorite thrift stores
the other day and while strolling
through the book section I saw
these three treasures.
Now, let me assure you that I DO
NOT need another cookbook BUT
I WAS NOT leaving these.
Especially the two in the top picture.
Gooseberry Patch cookbooks and
calendars are fun to look at and
the "helpful hints" are fun to read.
The price was right too. The Goose
berry Patch books were $2.99 each.
Brand new they run around $16.95.
The titles of these books are:
The Cozy Home Cookbook-Tasty
recipes and year round decorating
ideas for your cozy home.
Holidays at Home-Favorite family
recipes, decorating ideas and
magical memories for a homespun
harvest and cozy Christmas.
This 592 page with 1,200 collected
recipes cookbook was $ 3.99!
This cookbook picks up where "The
Martha Stewart Cookbook left off.
The 1,200 recipes are from the first
decade of her magazine. There are 19
chapters that cover the basics, breads,
soups, veggies, meat (s), vegetarian
main courses, and so on.
I'm not sure how many recipes will be
used from this book but it just looks
like a cook book that should be in a
kitchen and it's fun to look through.
See I told you they had to come home
with me! Who could pass up these
prices too?
Fun stuff I tell ya!

Happy Days !!!!!
First, I like to say "Thank you" to all
for the prayers, thoughts and concerns
for us. We made through all the bad
weather! Yesterday we were under a
TORNADO WARNING and had to take
cover at school! The three Special Ed.
classes hunkered down in our room for
an hour. We were never in danger but
a tornado did tough down about 20-25
miles south of school though. There
was some damage to the downtown
area. Sedalia, Mo was hit by one also.
If you would like to help--here are a
couple of places you can go:

School's out for the Summer!!!!!
I made it!
I survived!
***************************************
Our holiday weekend is going to be
busy! Ken's sister and her family are
coming to town.
Minor League Baseball game Saturday
night.
Birthday party for Ken's uncle on Sunday.
Possible movie date with Ken on
Monday.

go to the beach?
Because it was

Why was the math book sad?
Because it had too many problems.

We Did It!!!
Thursday Thoughts...
Well, we did it! We made
some Valentine's for some
kids that need a little cheering
up.
These are the one's that Leslie
and her daughter from :
http://A Little Spoonful/ .
They made quite a few very
cute and creative cards for
the kids.
Aren't the ladybugs adorable?
Here we are--I gathered all
my supplies so I could start
creating.
The creative process has
begun. I decided to make
my cards look like
"conversation hearts."
These are the finished product.
I thought they came out really
cute!
Leslie and Sally for taking the
to make some Valentine cards.
I know the kids will LOVE them!
She also made a beautiful pink
sequin and pearl heart ornament.
Forgot a pic--it's really pretty
though!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Ken and I delivered them
yesterday to one of the eight
drop-off sites so they could
be picked up and delivered
to the hospital on Monday.
Thanks again Leslie and
Sally --you ladies are
GREAT!!!
Guess What??
Happy Chinese New Year to You!
It is the Year of the Rabbit--
February 3, 2011-Jan 22, 2012
********************************
The Chinese New Year is the
longest and most important
festival in the Chinese calendar.
It is celebrated on the second
new moon after the winter
solstice and is observed with
great excitement by all.
*********************************
If you were born in the year:
1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951,
1963, 1975, 1987, 1999 and
2011. You are a RABBIT.
Those born under this sign
are said to be a reasonably
friendly individual who
enjoys the company of good
friends.
They are good teachers,
counselors and communicators.
But they also enjoy their own
space!
********************************
Tonight we will be enjoying
our own celebration of:
Pork Fried Rice (homemade)
Egg Rolls (store bought)
Enjoy!!!
New Year Thoughts
Some thoughts for the New Year:
WE are only human.
There IS ONLY one perfect
being.
It's OK to make mistakes.
Live and Learn.
Change is good.
Live, Laugh, Love.
Don't take yourself
too seriously.
Have fun, life is TOO short.
Be true to YOURSELF.
Life is like a box of
chocolates, sometimes
it is SMOOTH and sometimes
it is BUMPY.
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
