Sketch Saturday Challenge #327

Hello!

We have a new sketch at Sketch Saturday.  Simon Says Stamp is back as our sponsor with a generous $25 gift certificate as the prize this week.

Sketch #327:
My Interpretation:
This card was actually the inspiration for the sketch.  I made it for the homebound ministry back in Spring.  I think it was the March card.

The stamp set used is Taylored Expressions 'In the Word' set.  Both sun and verse are from this set.  The cloud border is also Taylored Expressions - I definitely have gotten a lot of use out of it.

The patterned cloud paper is from A|Muse and cardstock is PTI White, Spring Rain and Summer Sunrise (and ink).

I also made a Get Well version using Graphic Greetings Get Well.

You can see all the DT inspiration and enter our challenge HERE.  Hope you will join us this week.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #324

Happy Saturday!

We have a new sketch today at Sketch Saturday and our sponsor is 2 Cute Ink!  The prize is 2 images of the winners choice.

We have a great sketch today designed by Vannessa.
I used a new release from last month - Boy and Frog, such a cute image.  I figured if this little boy was catching frogs he was bound to be muddy.  It is my husband's birthday today so this is his card.
I used several dies for this card.  The grass is an A|Muse die.  The cloud border is from Taylored Expressions.  I didn't want to cover the cloud paper so I went with vellum.  It has been some time since I used vellum and I'm seeing it a lot again.

My interpretation:
The image is a Sassy Cheryl image - A Day in the Life of Bentley Bear.   A very fun image to color.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #275

I'm so excited - I'm hosting Sketch Saturday this week!  The sponsor is Mabelle RO from Whimsy and Stars Studios and she is generously offering 4 MRO digis to one lucky participant in this week's challenge.
Studio Homepage
Also, our guest designer this month is my friend Laura - Yay!  I love her clean style and beautiful coloring.

Lastly, I designed the sketch this week!  Here it is SS275:

This is what I was thinking when I created the sketch.  Mainly the center panel being recessed and embossed - or maybe a patterned paper that is stitched around the perimeter.  I went the recessed and embossed route, to make the layered frame I used my Cricut mini.
Mabelle generously offered the design team some Fall images to work with.  I was thrilled to see "It's Fall" back in her shop - one of my many favorites.
I thought adding a woodgrain to the letters would be a great detail.  I thought about paper-piecing the letters with woodgrain paper.  In the end, I opted to print the image twice, color the letters then stamp with a woodgrain background stamp from A|Muse Studios.  I cut the stamped letters out and paper-pieced them on the colored image.

Supplies --
Image: MRO "It's Fall"
Stamp: A|Muse woodgrain background
Patterned Papers: Simple Stories Harvest Lane
Cardstock: PTI Dark Chocolate and Canyon Clay
Ink: PTI Dark Chocolate
Copic Colors: E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, YR12, YR15, YR18, YR21, YR23, YR24, BG10, BG72, R37, R89, YG91, YG93, YG95
Ribbon: PTI Pure Poppy
Cuttlebug and pumpkin embossing folder

Sketch Saturday Challenge #273

Happy Saturday!  We have a new sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday.

Our sponsor this week is Prairie Fairy Designs.
Here is Sketch #273 (designed by Jen):
 Here is my interpretation:

I saw a fence in the border detail of the sketch.  I used a PTI picket fence die that I've had for quite some time.  So nice to finally use it :D

I stamped the fence with a woodgrain background from A|Muse and PTI soft stone ink.  I was hoping for a white washed fence look, with a hint of the woodgrain showing thru.  One more thing I've had for some time and finally used it.
The image is from Oak Pond Creations, an image that I won in a challenge.  This image is called "Marie's Strawberries".  I love strawberries.

Supplies --
Image: Oak Pond Creations "Marie's Strawberries"
Stamp: A|Muse woodgrain background
Ink: PTI Soft Stone
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye "Sunny"
Cardstock: PTI White and Pure Poppy
Dies: PTI Picket Fence, Nestabilities Circles
Copic Colors: R22, R24, R29, Y32, Y35, Y38, YG61, YG63, YG67, W1, W2, 0

Taylored Expressions - Dad Tools

Today, I have the card made from my Dad's 90th birthday!  I used a stamp from Taylored Expressions called "Dad Tools".  He loved tools and could fix anything back in the day.  He also did a lot of woodworking after retiring.  The 3 patterned papers are from Simple Stories Aweso{me} paper pad.

I stamped "Dad" on a piece of Kraft and Xpress It cardstock with Mementos black ink.  The kraft cardstock was cut with a nestabilities die, then stamped with a woodgrain stamp (A|Muse) using dark chocolate (PTI) ink.
I colored the "Dad" stamped on the white XPress It cardstock with Copic markers and cut each tool out them paper pieced them on the woodgrain base. The image was matted with PTI Enchanted Evening cardstock and screw head snaps were added in each corner.

Supplies --
Stamp: Taylored Expressions "Dad Tools", A|Muse woodgrain background

Sketch Saturday Challenge #266

We have a new challenge at Sketch Saturday.  It is also the 1st Saturday in the month, so that means the challenge is hosted by a DT member...it is Alex's week.

Alex organized a fabulous sponsor this week:
Our prize this week is a $5 Sassy Cheryl gift coupon.

Alex also created the sketch for this week.  Here is Sketch #266:
We were given an Sassy Cheryl image to work with too.  I chose Quiet Inspiration.  Isn't she the sweetest.  She looks just like my friends little girl, so this will be her birthday card this year.  I found the most perfect patterned paper - My Mind's Eye "Sweet Girl".

Supplies Card 1 --
Image: Sassy Cheryl's Stamp "Quiet Inspiration"
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye "Sweet Girl"
Cardstock: PTI Sweet Blush, Limeade Ice
Sewing machine with white thread
Punches: 1" circle and flower
Die cut: PTI medium scallop
Copic Colors: E00, E11, E13, E21, R02, RV10, RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29, YG01, YG21, G40, BG000, BG10, BG53, YR21, YR23, YR24, YR61, YR65, 0

I made a second card using the sketch, a baby card for a couple at church.  I used a variety of products on this one.  One of the best things about this design team - using all the things that have been sitting around awhile.
It is kind of a fussy card...only took me a couple days to make it - LOL.  I kept changing directions with it.  The image is a Nina B set "Sending you Sunshine" available at The Crafts Meow.
I ended up stamping the image on some A|Muse cloud paper.  I used 2 A|Muse dies, the grass and pinking border.  I have 3 layers of grass.  I colored, cut and pieced all the colored elements.

The stripe paper and paper used for the grass is MRO Mia's Cottage - a paper I've been hoarding.  I cut what I thought was my last full sheet of the stripe paper to make this card.  Believe me I paused a moment before I did it...but cut it.  Then last weekend, while cleaning the craftroom {which is a bedroom} so guests could stay, I discovered 25 full unopened packs of Mia's Cottage.  I guess there is no reason not to use the paper now!  The things you find when you clean - LOL!

Supplies Card 2 --
Stamp:  Nina B "Sending you Sunshine" available at The Crafts Meow
Patterned Cardstock: Mabelle RO Mia's Cottage and ribbon (TAC)
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock:  Bazzill Ocean Blue, Berry Sensation, Tangelo Blast
Dies: A|Muse Grass and pinking borders
Copic Colors: E33, E35, E37, E29, YG11, YG13, YG25, YG91, YG93, RV12, RV14, RV09, Y13, Y17, YR61, YR65, B41, B45.

A|Muse - Seasonal Branch

Today, I have the card I made for the homebound ministry and a few others in April.  I had a few thank you and thinking of you cards I needed to get out too.  I ended up making 12 cards and thought it a perfect any occasion card.

This card was inspired by a card Marisa Alvarez created for Madison Mingle 2012 - last MarchI ended up buying the set from her last year at Mingle and this Spring I finally created my version.

The branch and flowers are an A|Muse stamp set Seasonal Branch.  The woodgrain cardstock is also from A|Muse.

The image was stamped on PTI white cardstock that is die cut with Lil Inkers Rectangular Stitched Mats.   The inks are PTI Dark Chocolate, PTI Simply Chartreuse and Memento Angel Pink.
The flowers are a cluster of 3.  I stamped 2 clusters on an extra piece of white cardstock and cut them out to add some dimension.  I used E29 Copic marker for the brown center of the flowers. The "Just a Note" sentiment is from a Crafts Meow set "Happy as a Lark".

I got a new watermark recently, created by Karen Giron.  I love her blog "the sweetest thing" and I saw on her side bar she sells watermarks.  Really cute ones too.

Supplies --
Stamps: A|Muse "Seasonal Branch", The Crafts Meow "Happy as a Lark"
Inks: Memento Angel Pink, PTI Dark Chocolate and Simply Chartreuse
Die: Lil Inkers Designs Rectangle Stitched Mat Stack
Patterned Cardstock: A|Muse woodgrain

PaperTrey Ink - Autumn Hills

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have two similar cards using a PaperTrey Ink set - Autumn Hills.  This is the October card for the home-bound ministry that went out this week.  A simple card that was easy to mass produce.  So much so I made some birthday cards too.  Love when that happens - a design can be used for multiple occasions this month and into the next.
The blue block background is an old TAC set "Background Builders", which had solid block squares, rectangles and circles - perfect for the blue sky.  I used PTI "Spring Rain" ink.

The tree and sentiment (both) are from Autumn Hills and stamped using PTI "Dark Chocolate" ink.  I colored the leaves of the tree with scarlet red colored pencil.
The hill was created with a PTI die "In the Meadow" and Ivy Bazzill cardstock.  The base card for the first card is PTI Kraft and this one is PTI "Spring Rain".  The woodgrain paper is from A|Muse.

Supplies --
