Back to School Mini book Class

Wow I just found this post and realized it was never completed.  This is a class I taught several months ago.  I used a lot of Glimmer Mist, stamps, stencils,  Cricut diecuts,
twine, ribbon  and embellishments.
The rosette on the front cover was made using the Tim Holtz rosette dies and the Graphic 45 see through windows were filled with beads, buttons, and paper clips.

Back to School Album

Yesterday I taught a Back to School Mini using a Tattered Angels book, Glimmer Mist and School paper. We used lots of different techniques with the Glimmer Mist including stencils, bubble wrap, sponges, etc.
I used a bunch of different things from the store, from my stash and school supplies.
I also made a few Cricut Cuts for the album

BBTB2 Back to School Challenge- Pull out book

Today both FCCB and BBTB2  have Back to School as their challenge themes.
My first post for the day will be the FCCB Back to School Cricut Crawl
and the second will be the BBTB2 challenge.
Remember you have one week to link your projects up for both of these challenges.

Reminder- Blog Candy
Starting August 18th through August 31th I am going to draw one lucky winner by Random.org who leaves a comment and is a follower of my blog for a $10  Gift Card to Michaels.
I will also draw one lucky new follower for a goody bag.  I now have 603 followers which is amazing to me.
So thank you all!

It's Back to School for most of the country this time of year.  So today at BBTB2 my wonderful friend and Design Team sister Brenda asked us to design a "Back to School Project.
It will be so fun seeing what all the Design Team member have created.
For my project I designed a mini book for my granddaughter Kenzie who started preschool this past week.  She is going to preschool two days a week and was one tired puppy after her first day of school.

The book base came from Creative Imaginations.
This is the cover.
Paper is DCWV School stack from Michaels
Kenzie's name is cut from Nate's ABC

This is the book open with Preschool cut from Nate's ABC and backed with 1 inch circles.
When you pull the book it opens like this and spells out Preschool
Some pages have pockets and tags
I
Some have little mini books
Photo mats

I used Locker Talk, Recess, and Nate's ABc
Embellishments
Ribbon from Stash
Remember you have one week to join us for the Back to School Challenge.  We would love to see your creations and have you link up with BBTB2.

First Day of School Mini Book for Grades K-12

Hi Everyone and welcome to my post for the Sweet Sassy Diva Design Team today.  I am also entering this in the BBTB2 Challenge  which is to make a project with Locker Talk.   This week the challenge for the SSD Design team is to make a Back to School Project.  Back to School has always been a big deal to me first because I loved school as a kid and both my parents were teachers.  Then for 33 years I taught school so this time of year I would be scrounging for supplies for my classroom.  Well now it means I have been retired for one full year which is hard for me to believe.  I still troll the Back to School aisles and ads looking for great deals on crayons and folders.  Guess those habits are hard to break.
So on to my project.  I decided to make a First Day of School Mini book.  I used an accordian book from Bazil  ( www.bazill basics.com ) that I got at my local scrapbook store on sale.  Here is a picture of the school stack I had.  I have seen new school stacks at Michaels recently.
The folder opens up and each page is 4 x 6.  I made  2 x 4 pockets for the tags.  Each tag was cut with design paper to place in a pocket.  The wallet size pictures would fit on the front of the tag and the back size is blank so that info about teacher, school, etc. could be added on each one.
The recipe for the cuts are at the bottom of the post.

Here is the folder decorated and closed.
Folder open and decorated.

Twisted Easel Cards following Mary at Cardz TV video

I love love love the Twisted Easel card that Mary at Cardztv shared on her blog.  Since I love easel cards I had to try this out.  I made three cards the first one Thinking of You and then two graduation cards.  These are so much fun to make.  They are A2 size.
