Lasting Memories Challenge Snowflakes

Here we are only 5 days left till Christmas.  The weather has finally cooled down in California a little bitt so I was able to get some cute pics of my granddaughters Brittany and Katie bundling up to go outside.  Kids always love their hats, scarves and mittens but we don't get to wear them a lot in Southern California.

This is the challenge for the month of December at Lasting Memories and here it is.
Make Cut Out Snowflake Day is  here and now. Here's a day to show your crafty skills, as you make paper snowflakes. Making cut out snowflakes is a great project for kids. However, you don't have to be a kid, to have fun making paper snowflakes. It's a skill that is practiced by many people.
They say no two snowflakes are alike. It shouldn't come as a surprise, that there are seemingly countless different snowflake designs. Templates abound, from fast and easy patterns, to intricate time consuming designs to challenge the most practiced "snowflaker". So, if you like snow...bring it on! Bring out the paper and scissors, and cut out some paper snowflakes on this very special  Make Cut Out Snowflake Day.  Day held- December 27th
"Make a Cut-Out Snowflake" -
Scrap about Snow, Snowflakes, Winter etc..

Or Switch: Holiday Winter Wonderland
The snowflakes I cut with my Silhouette.  I love the ones that are turned like this so they look more like they are falling.  The quote if kisses were snowflakes is also from Silhouette is a print and cut.
So please check out what the other designers have created with this challenge and join in if you can.  We would love to see your creations at Lasting Memories.
Merry Christmas

Lasting Memories Holiday baking challenge

Today is a new challenge at Lasting Memories to get your creative juices flowing.  When : Always December 8
National Brownie Day celebrates chocolatey, chewy brownies.
Brownie lovers, love chocolate. Conversely, chocolate lovers, love brownies. Therefore, its only natural, that we have a special day to celebrate brownies. It's fun and easy to enjoy this special day. First, select your favorite brownie recipe, and bake a batch of brownies. You can add nuts, if you prefer. Topping the brownies with chocolate frosting is a good thing, too. Finally, eat them! You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack.
.Ps Don't forget the glass of milk!
Happy National Brownie Day.

Here is my layout in preparation for some holiday baking or could be used for pics of putting the gingerbread houses together this year.  The paper was old paper from my stash and I used a Martha Stewart gingerbread punch.  The cute little gingerbread train, boy and girl are from Silhouette and are Print and cut. They matched the paper perfectly.

Lasting Memories challenge Hot meal with washi tape

It's time for another challenge at Lasting Memories.  This week the challenge is a Hot Meal with Washi tape.  For my page I had a pic of my granddaughter Kenzie eating lunch out with Grammy and Papa.  She was loving her spaghetti.  They had a cheese shaker on the table so she kept say Cheese Please.  The title, mouse and utensils are all from Silhouette America.  The paper I used reminded me of a tablecloth.
I hope you will check out what the other designers created for the challenge this week and join us at Lasting Memories.
Remember there is a new challenge each Sunday and you have all month to complete the challenges.

Last SOUS challenge- Wings diecut

We have been having card exchanges the last few months at the scrapbook store where I teach.  First we did birthday cards and then now we are doing general cards like: Thinking of you, Get well, etc.
For my cards I used the Silhouette America easel butterfly which was quick to cut out 20 of these.  I cut the base in black and then used paper I have had a long time in my stash.  I loved the colors of the paper and perfect for butterflies.  Then I mixed and matched and added pearls to the body.

The stamp inside says to wonderfully you from thankful me.  There are tiny brads on each side to hold it in place when standing.
So I am entering this for the last SOUS challenge which is a Wings diecut challenge,
Thank you to Nanne, Leah and all the DT ladies for this great blog and their great challenges.
Sad to see the blog stop but hope to see you all and your creations in crafty land.

Little Things Challenge at Lasting Memories

First of all I hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day today.  It's always fun to spend time with those we love and honor them.  We will have all the grandkids here so it will be a fun time.
Today for the Lasting Memories challenge "It's the Little Things".
The little things that occupy the biggest part of my heart is my sweet little grandchildren.
They are so full of joy and fun
I created this layout of granddaughter Kenzie and grandson Micah in our downtown area.  Someone painted an old piano with wild colors and each day they unlock it and people can play it.  Of course the kids loved this.  They thought it was so fun!
I cut the title and music notes from Silhouette America and matted my photos.  I added a few stickers to the corner of the photos and left it at that,  Nice and Simple.
Please join us for our challenges posted each Sunday.  We would love to see your creations at

Flower love layout

Check out the challenge this month at Blog Quick QuotesFlowers for Summer, please use handmade paper flowers (stamped or cut) on your project
and you can make any kind of project!!!
I went through some of my printed pictures and found these adorable pics of my granddaughter Brittany 3, planting seeds in a cup at her kids group.
For the paper I used Blog Quick Quotes Summer Samba which is an older paper.
I love the bright turquoise and dark orange.  Such a fun tropical feel.
I cut my Hibiscus in three sizes using a nesting pattern from Silhouette America.
I then recut using the dark orange pattern paper without the cutouts edges.
I added yellow paper to back for centers and then used yellow Stickles.
I also added yellow Stickles to center of flowers on background paper.
I used a vellum quote from Quick Quotes as well as cutting out some words from a tag to add the words Dream, Believe, Explore and Discover.
The flowers and mats were inked with Red Hot Powder Puff Ink from Quick Quotes.
For the pictures I matted one and cut the other one out for interest.
I hope you like it.

Also linking this up to the challenge at Use Your Stuff- Color Me Happy!
Blue is a color I gravitate to a lot when scrapping as it is my favorite color.
The colors and contrast of this paper really made me feel happy even though
I don't usually like oranges.  I just think the color combo goes so well together!

Let's ScrapChallenge- Disney Eggstravaganza

I am especially excited to share this layout for the Let's Scrap challenge for June 15th.
I wan't sure what I would do for this sketch until I saw the photos my daughter took at the Disneyland and California Adventure Easter Egg hunts this year.  I knew right away I could print out small pics with my Picturemate printer for the small squares.
On the left is pictures of the two maps you get at the parks.  As you find the eggs you get stickers and when you are done you get an egg.  The pictures in the middle are the castle, Goofy, the grandkids sleeping in the stroller and the Walt and Mickey statue.
The eggs I printed out and the title I made using my Silhouette and a variety of fonts.
All the Disney paper I used were scraps from other layouts so the patchwork pattern was perfect.
Here is the amazing sketch.  I divided the left mat in two
and the large mat in four getting even more pictures on the page.
I hope you will join us for the challenge and check out what the other designers did at Let's Scrap.  We would love to see what you create with this sketch.

Hello Ladies (checking out the ladybugs)

I created this layout using the sketch from Stuck on you Sketches for their June 5th Sketch Challenge. This is another awesome sketch by Nanne.  This is the last month for SOUS so make sure to stop by and thank everyone for all the challenges and inspiration  It is so sad to see one of my favorite challenge blogs shut down but I do understand it is a lot of hard work.

The pictures for this layout are of granddaughters Katie 5 and Brittany 3 playing with ladybugs.
The title and large  ladybugs are cut with the Silhouette from Silhouette America.
The border and smaller ladybugs are Martha Stewart punches.  The ladybug paper is old from my stash.  We always call Katie Katiebug so I always buy ladybug paper when I can find it
Here is the sketch for this challenge which goes through the 18th.

Lemonade Stand for Summer

I did this layout with Rochelle Spears and Scrappy Friends Challenge  in mind.
You can enter one, two or all three of the challenges below together.  If you do all 3 of the friend's challenges you have 4 chances to win and that is what I did.
The pictures are of my grandson Micah and granddaughter Kenzie
making Lemonade at the lemonade stand at their preschool.
It is actually a warm day but Micah had to wear his new Big Hero 6 vest.
They go great with the Summer theme and the bright Bo Bunny Summer Paper from last year.
Here is Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe

I used Wood, Sun, Mixed Alphas going vertical and the
Summer theme, Mixed Alphas, buttons going horizontal

This is Brenda's sketch that I used.

and for Kelly's word challenge   Creating with Paper and More

I used the words Splash, Sun, Summer
(splash and sun are on the checkoff tag on the left top)

Also entering this page in SOUS  Summer Die cut challenge- The sun is from Silhouette America and cut from Bo Bunny dot paper and I punched out the Summer words and put in center.

Just eat Ice Cream

Nothing better than ice cream on a hot California day.  Here is my cutie granddaughter Kenzie eating her bright blue bubblegum ice cream at the Harbor.  Of course her lips turned blue!
I used this great Sketch from Bev Code  for Let's Get Sketchy.
The ice cream cone is from Silhouette America and I used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch for the dripping ice cream borders.  I stickled the specks on the ice cream with Diamond Stickles to give it some glitz.  The ice cream ribbon is old ribbon from my stash.

My Favorite Work of Art

This was such a fun sketch and layout to put together.  My layouts almost always have the grandkids in them but I wanted to do something special with this picture.  It  is of my oldest daughter and son in law on a date night at The Painted Cabaret.  It's a fun place to go where you do a painting and their choice was Jack Skellington since they are Disney fans.
For the paper I used Simple Stories from a mixed stack.
The paint palette, paint brush and title came from Silhouette America.
The hearts I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.
I used the punch outs and saved the punched border for another project.
I really liked the way this came out.

My Boy

This was a fun sketch from My Scraps N More #105.
I printed out 4 pics of my grandson Micah at Moms day at school.
My daughter was out of state with hubbies graduation so I got to go.
I made 2 x 3 pics with my Photomate printer.
That way I could use the photo space but get four photos on it.
I cut out arrows and the title My Boy from Silhouette America.
The heart border is a Martha Stewart punch.
I like the tags under the picture spot for journaling.
Here is the sketch.

Funny Snap shots done with an app

I fell in love with this sketch from My Scraps N More  #106  the minute I saw it.  I knew exactly what paper and pictures I wanted to use.
The paper is Bella Blvd and I bought a bunch of it last Summer on a Shop Hop.  This was the perfect layout sketch for the paper.
The pictures are some my daughters made on an app on their phones
called You Cam Makeup-Makeover Studio.
You can change the hair and makeup, etc.  It's a lot of fun.  I printed 2 x 3 pics with my Picturemate Printer and they were the perfect size for the page.
Left to right- Are grandaughters Brittany and Kenzie with light colored long hair.  They have long dark hair.
My daughter in the middle as Maleficent, Elsa and Anna.
Then on the right is grandaughter Kenzie as mini Elsa, curly haired girl and me with a new hair do.
I cut out the filmstrips from Silhouette America and the rest is from the paper.
Here is the awesome sketch from My Scraps N More  #106

I am also entering this at Use Your Stuff Challenge #184
which is to use Chevrons.  That wasn't hard to do as I love Chevrons and buy paper with Chevrons alot so have lots in my stash.
