Digital Design: Christmas in July with DDDoodles & Imagine That! DbK

Hello everyone!  For all of my American friends and readers, Happy Independence Day!  Be sure to come back a little bit later as I'm going to be posting a freebie in honour of this special day.

Right now, it is time for some Christmas in July fun to begin!  As promised at the end of May, I'm back with a special collaborative give-a-way between Imagine That! Digis by Kris and myself.

I have created a set of 50 digital brads, taking five different images from Kris' Gingerbread Scene set, along with some papers from the Gingerbread Digital Papers set, and a couple papers from the Christmas Snowflakes Digital Papers and putting each of them into five different shapes and then ten different metal casings (courtesy of Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper), to create a set of digital brads.

Three lucky winners will have the chance to win a set of these brads and use them on their own holiday cards and layouts! Of course, you're going to have to do a little work to have your chance to earn them, but don't worry, it won't be anything too strenuous.  

There are three different tasks.  Complete a task and earn a chance to win the set of brads.  The more tasks you complete the more your chances increase.

TASK #1

• Leave a comment on this post or the same one announcing the draw on the Imagine That! blog, letting me know the name of your favourite set from the Christmas & Winter section of Imagine That! Digis by Kris.

 

TASK #2

• Head to the Christmas & Winter section of Imagine That! Digis by Kris.
• Send an e-mail to decossesdynamitedoodles [at] yahoo [dot] ca with the following subject heading, "Christmas in July Brad Giveaway", with the following info:  List the names of all the sets that have at least one MOUSE in them. 

 

TASK #3

• Create a card with ANY Christmas or Winter themed, Imagine That! Digis by Kris image.
• Add it to the link up below between now and July 31st.  No backlinking please.  Also, please add a link to this challenge on your post.
• If you don't own any digis, you can find a penguin image in the free section of Kris' store right now.
• Also note that if you join in the Imagine That! Digis by Kris digi stamp of the month progressive challenge, you won't have any extra work to do as the card you create for July's digi stamp of the month, can be linked up here as well since the set this month is Christmas related. 
• Then of course be sure to also add your Christmas card to The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up for your chance to earn a free digi paper if you link up two cards during the month of July, and also have a chance at our sponsor's prize if you follow the theme of adding an ornament somewhere on your card.  Click HERE for all the details you need!

Digital Design: Nicecrane Designs DT Call + a ND Freebie + Your Chance to Win a Set of Fairy Brads

Digital Design: Imagine That...Gingerbread Scene & Papers

Hello to all you fine people out there!  With just two days left in the month, it is time that I show you my third and final Imagine That! Digis by Kris project for May.  Although, today I'm going to show you something a little bit different.

Last year, before I joined the IT team, I received a wonderfully generous gift from Kris in the form of her Gingerbread Scene Digi Set and accompanying Gingerbread Digital Papers.  Well, I've been itching to make a set of brads using several of the items from that set for use on some future Christmas cards.  Last night, I finally got the chance to. 
  
General Info:

• I have five sets of brad templates:  a .3 in. circle; a 1 in. circle;  a 1.3 x .7 rectangle; a .7 in. square; and a 1 in. square (please note sizes are approximations).  Within each of these sets there are ten different types of metal edgings (for ex., gold, silver, copper, pewter, chrome, etc.). 
• There are five images within the Gingerbread Scene Digi Set that I specifically wanted to make into brads. I also used three papers from the Gingerbread Digital Papers set, and two papers from the Christmas Snowflakes Digital Papers set for the background of the brads.
  
• So, for the purposes of what I am showing you today, I have put each of the images and an accompanying paper into one of the different brad shapes.

Digital Image Details: 

• Gingerbread Scene: I just love the individual elements in this set!  They are all perfect additions to any holiday card!  And, the ones I've used in my brad set are just a few of the items in the set, there are many more that you can see in the preview below.  Please click on the watermark below to find the set in the store. 

• The brads have been made with templates that were designed by Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper.  I have used the iron metal in the ones shown above.  The shadows have been added for display purposes.

Digital Paper Details:

• As mentioned above, I have used three papers from the Gingerbread Digital Papers set, and two papers from the Christmas Snowflakes Digital Papers set for the background of the brads.  I have also used one of the papers as the background for my display.  Please click on the watermarks below to find the sets in the store. 

Important to note...

Now if you too enjoy digital design, please note that not all artists allow their images to be used in digital projects such as the ones I have created above.  So, be sure to carefully check the terms of use and if it isn't covered, contact the artist.  Keep in mind that in the majority of circumstances, even if you are allowed to use the items to create digital products, unless you have purchased an image with a commercial use license or are granted special permission, the digital creations you make, will be for your own personal use ONLY.  

While Kris does allow people to create digital items with her digis and papers, the resulting creations are for your own personal use. Should you wish to give away or sell digital items using Imagine That! Digis by Kris products (ie. non-printed/non-handmade projects), you would need special permission to do so.

And guess what...

Kris has done exactly that!  I have received special permission to have a blog draw.

Wonderful Wednesdays--Offerings for February

Hello peeps.  As it turns out, I didn't get my IT project posted yesterday.  Unfortunately, I just ran out of time so I'll be posting it later in the week instead.  Along with doing some behind the scenes work for the challenge blogs I own or co-coordinate, I also needed to get some stuff done for my design teams and also wanted to make sure that I got something ready in time for this month's Wonderful Wednesday offering.

Thankfully, I've managed to pull something together for this last Wednesday of the month to offer up for the February kit.  If you are new to my blog in the past year, you can find other items for the February kit by clicking on the respective links below:

And that is where last year's offerings end I'm afraid.  I had intentions to do another post in Feb. but it just never happened, then I just became even busier and overwhelmed and that was the end of that.  Hopefully trying to only do it monthly this year, I'll fair better.

Now I never did give a name to the February Kit, so how about we call it 'Love Truly'.  Here are a set of four 'Beautiful Brads' you can add to your February kit...

These digital brads are 214 x 214 pixels (a little under 3/4 in squared), in png format and published at 300 ppi.  This time around I've offered them up in gold.  Hopefully, in future February offerings, I'll add silver, bronze and other metals to give you a variety of selections to work with.  Credits:  I have used resources from Pixel Scrapper and Me Oh My Graphics (full credit info in file).  To grab these brads, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders. 

Now since I offered up a bonus date stamp in January of last year, I figured I'd continue so that you have this particular date stamp for the rest of the months as well.  You have 12 circular ones (if you collected each month in 2013), so it would be odd to have just one horizontal one for January.  You can just left click on this one to bring it up in the lightbox and then right click to save it in its original size which is 3600 x 192 pixels (12 inches x .64 inches).   Sorry that the colour clashes with the orange background.  One of these days, I plan to change my blog jacket but first I need to find the perfect background and find some time to do so.  It will look better when you bring it up into the lightbox.

Digital Design: The Beauty of Butterflies...Week 3

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the third week of The Beauty of Butterflies give-a-way.  If you missed any of the previous entries, you can click HERE for week 1, and HERE for week 2.

Wonderful Wednesdays--Beautiful Brads

I wasn't sure I was going to get this post out but the soup I talked about at the end of my last post is on and simmering.  I have just finished adding some meatless meatballs, some egg noodles and some spices to finish it all off.  Therefore, while it finishes cooking, I have just enough time to get this post created.

It is time for this week's edition of Wonderful Wednesdays and my offering for you this time around is a series of snowflake brads to add to your multi-year January kit called Snow Much Fun.  There are six in all.  Three have one snowflake design and three have a different one.  Each is coloured slightly different.  I hope you enjoy them.  Take a look...
