Bowling in Reno for Nationals

Well its that time of year again!!! When I go to Nationals for the USBC Women's Bowling Tournament and its in Reno, Nevada- again this year. So, for the past 10 years its a tradition for me to make these small cards for all my bowling ladies that go, which is usually about 80 of us...but this year its only 40- so it didn't take me as long to make this year which is good...I have been so busy with other projects.
The card is about 4 1/2 by 2 3/4 inches and on the inside I have hand written some info that the girls can fill out as they bowl there nine games and then the bottom inside half is where we can put out wallet size team picture- to keep from year to year. The girls just love it and kinda expect me to keep making them, so that's what I did on Mother's Day this year- last minute. Because we leave today to go to Reno and bowl. I can't wait we have such a good time every year.
I don't remember which cartridge I used for the lettering, but I like it and of course I used 50 states for the Nevada cut, just stamped the bowling pins and then did some doodling and added the year.

Lots of Red ,White and Blue on this page...

Another 4th of July layout this one for Sassy LiL Sketches and this page is for one of my daughter's scrapbook (I have 4 kids so many repeat pictures) for many different books. I used medium blue cardstock and a textured red designer paper for the star which I did a zig-zag stitch on in white, Recollections Star border punch that I back with white paper, star shaped buttons threaded with twine, spray ink in dark blue, prism stars, some misc holiday chipboard pieces and Cricut cartridges used were 50 States, Storybook and Jasmine and of course I did this with my Gypsy (I can't do anything without her)
I will also apply this over at Frosted Designs this week for using Die-Cuts, which I have a few of them on this layout.

Michigan

I just love taking outdoor pictures of my kids especially at Presque Isle in Marquette, Michigan with the birch trees and Lake Superior. So here is another layout of the beautiful outdoors of my 2 sons back in 2001. I am applying this layout towards 2 challenges this week, one at FCCB#17-creepy crawlers/bugs and the color orange, and the other challenge is the sketch from Sketchy Thursday which really worked out great for these 2 photos. I spent about an hour figuring out papers which are  all different brands and inked the edges on all in coffee bean. I used a chipboard letter M and cut the rest of the letters from my Cricut using Lyrical Letters. I attached a chipboard tag that I made with 2 different ribbons in brown polka dot and a green stripes and another chipboard tag that says "tradition".
I used several cartridges for the dragonflies Lyrical Letters, Doodlecharms and Gypsy Wanderings which I layered them added rhinestones (blue, green and white) and  Stickles copper glitter to each.
I pulled the rusty or orange color out in the matted photos and background and in the tag. I also found some light orange paper to journal on with a fine black marker and inked that up a bit to match the rest of the layout. Oh yeah I cut out the outline of Michigan from 50 States cartridge and attached to the letter M. I'm really happy how this paged turned out this will be added to my son's Eric's scrapbook..but I have another page to do for the other son...wish I could just copy this one.

Back Roads

I just love this picture of my son on my Uncles Triumph motorcycle taken about 10 years ago by my uncle.I have been saving this black and white photo to do a special layout and this week I thought the challenge "Behind Closed cupboard Doors" over at Practical Scrappers monthly bonus challenge would work out perfectly for what I did with this layout. Also over at Frosted Designs their challenge is to "recycle" items as embellishments so this layout qualifies for this challenge also. I found this paper a while ago in the boys section but don't remember the name brand. And I used brick colored cardstock, and black cardstock for the background. The items that I used that would qualify for in the cupboard are washers wrapped in wire, mesh, old black and silver earrings which are on the matted picture with wire between them, and a old key. Other products used were glitter paper in a brick color, misc polka-dot paper, vellum and vellum pen, white acrylic paint on top of the vellum, 2 tags that were inked in black or gold, and my Gypsy to weld the title and other words together. Cartridges used in this layout are 50 states, Plantin Schoolbook. My son and his great Uncle took a day long trip  on the backroads of upper Michigan on 4th of July weekend and had a great time. I wish I had gone on the trip sounds like it would of been fun.

FCCB #4 Flower/Happy

This is my FCCB layout  week #4 using a flower/happy .I used the 50 states for the state, the bird and Wisconsin, AE and GBS for the 2 different flower cuts which are attached with colored brads, GW for the 2 different leaf cuts, GF for all the other lettering -Daves Falls and I'm happy which I highlighted with stickles. I used several different torn edges of patterned papers and also large queen anne flower cut out to trim left side of page. Added a few butterflies and attached a lavendar ribbon in the middle.

It's finally Friday...now on to scrappin

This has been a very long week at work...I didn't think Friday was ever gonna get here. So when I finished my last bus route I headed straight home and to the craft room. I did my first L.I.D. sketch challenge tonight and it was fun. I did 2 of the sketches and they turned out really nice. Then I took some more pics and posted them on cricut.com in the layouts. Now I have to get to bed cause I have a few friends coming to the all day scrap tomarrow and have to be up early for that. I'm gonna enjoy this weekend in the scrap room and my goal is to do 10 pages, that should be easy to do, to keep me on track with my monthly/yearly goals of 1 page a day for 2010.
