I just love all the colors and embellies in this layout I did with the sketch from SOUS- its been so long since I did a challenge from there- but this one comes pretty close since my pictures were both a 4 x 6. Its another one of my favorites of my kids taken at my daughter's wedding in Jamaica this past April.
I used the background paper from Scrapbook Customs called Paradise- two colors of cardstock for the mats, and Cricut cuts from Ashlyn's Alphabet, Accent Essentials and Life's a Beach. I layered the flowers in two colors attached a brad and added some stickles for bling. The cloud I inked the bottom and added stickles also. On the palm leaves I inked in 3 colors of green and one the bottom three added some sub-titles to them in my own handwriting.
I will be applying this over at SOUS this week..hope its not to late. Today is the first day of Summer- enjoy and stay cool- because its been a hot one here lately Happy Scrapping!

Over the River and thru the woods...
To grandma's house we go..... is the title of my layout this week for 2 challenges, one at The Paper Variety to use a Christmas song or lyric and over at SOUS to use "tree" die cuts. This photo is of my 2 daughters and their cousin in Upper Michigan after Christmas one year. The girls decided to take therir first rode trip alone to Michigan to celebrate the New Year with family. And they went over plenty of rivers and thru the woods to grandma's house --so the title is so right for this page.
I added some Stickles to the hearts and snowflakes and some pretty 3 colored ribbon and made my own journal spot. The sketch I got from my handy PageMaps 2 book page 29 a 8 1/2 x 11 layut I convereted to a 12 x 12.
I used several Cricut cartridges on this layout: DoodleCharms (trees) Graphically Speaking (snowflakes) Accent Essentials (hearts) Calligraphy Collection ( title words) . I also used my Cuttlebug and embossed the trees and layered them with pop dots and used green and diamond sStickles on them for some added bling.
Papers used were by Basic Grey -2-sided paper with houses on one side and blue swirls on the other- .also used red c.s. for mats and title cuts, brown inks, Stickles in pink, green and diamond, Rhinestones on snowflakes and my Xyron can in handy tonight to attached the title on.

Great Lengths-
Here is my take from Sketch #128 at The Scrappiest- the photo's are not the best -a bit blurry- but I remember this moment all to well a few years back of my son and his long golden locks right before we cut them all off- so he could join the high school football team. He was kinda worried about this- since he believed he was a chick magnet with this hair. Which he probably was- but football was more important and he said he could grow it back if he wanted too after the season.
I used all papers from the Recollections stack - which I just got the other day at Micheals for 1/2 off what a great deal this was. I added big gold brads to the corners of the photo's and journal strips on the side. With my Gypsy and Cricut Expressions I cut out the golden swirls to represent LOCKS of hair and the Handle with Care sign and the title Great Lengths from several cartridges- Accent Essentials, Graphically Speaking and Ashley's Alphabet. I inked all the edges with Memories-Chestnut

I used K&Company Designer stack papers, pink, black and white cardstock for all the Cricut cuts using 3 cartridges. Calligraphy Collection for the title, Accent Essentials for the hearts, swirls and scalloped circles, and A Child's Year for the mat photo borders. On the hearts I used Flower Soft in Sweet Pea and wrote a few words in the center of them. I chalked the mats in pink and inked the edges also in Studio G pink ink added a few white silk flowers and stamped Love all around the matted photos. Pink and black Stickles were added to the title and the black swirls. Then last added one red heart rhinestone to the title.
The month of January was a great month for me- in my scrapping corner of the world! I was choosen as a guest designer- which was a goal of mine this year, I was choosen by a customer to do a scrapbook of 33 pages for her daughter's skating book, two layouts were choosen as the Top 3 on other blogs, My page titled "Nature" was featured at Practical Scrappers - also I just won the Frosted Designs January prize package - and it was my birthday a few weeks ago- WOW. With this kind of start for the new year - I look forward to coming months ahead. Again, thank-you to all of you a Frosted Designs I look forward to all your posts and your friendly comments.

Here is my second layout this week for the sketch over at SOUS- isn't this just a wonderful sketch to work with -the possibilities are endless and love the circles. This photo is for my daughter Linda's book (who is dressed in a peach colored blouse) so I used that as my inspiration for colors in this layout.
Love the Bo-Bunny papers I picked up last week when I went to Las Vegas to visit my other daughter for Christmas- I just happen to know where the 2 scrapbook stores are out there.. lol. Materials used Bo-Bunny paper for the flower cut outs, Crate Paper- lime green paper for background, Memory Box- peach floral paper for large scalloped circle cut from Gypsy Wanderings cartridge, white, blue and green cardstock for other cuts from Songbird, Accent Essentials and Calligraphy Collection. A sanding block, rhinestones, forest green and diamond glimmer mists, and Flower Soft in Sweet Pea for edges of the peach flowers, and a Bo-Bunny journaling tag

Here is my sketch that I worked from this week from the new Page Maps #2 book- which I received for Christmas- and I couldn't wait to start scrapping today, since I haven't had the chance in about 2 weeks. I'm starting all my pictures from the year 2004 and this was my cousin's wedding and a family picture and one picture of 3 of my 4 children that attended the ceremony. Titled "I Do".
White cardstock for background, scraps of black pattern paper and some cream with pink and green floral papers, Cricut cuts from Tie The Knot and Accent Essentials cartridges, White felt floral ribbon, pink silk flowers, rhinestones, moss green and orchid inks, and a stardust gelly roll pen. This will be applied over at Sketches in Thyme for their challenge this week to use any sketch for a layout.http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com/

Sketches in Thyme
This is a photo of my Husband side (part) of the family -2 of his brothers, his son, nephew and his mother taken back in 2007 a week before Christmas, while his brother was here from Alaska during the holidays. I will be applying this sketch over at Sketches in Thyme, Frosted Designs ,to use Glitter and at Chop Suey to use the word Family in a project. The picture came out kinda blurry sorry I didn't have my reading glasses on when I took this picture.
I used My Minds Eye, Bo Bunny, Teresa Collins and misc Christmas papers for this layout along with lots of embellishments. Also used three Cricut cartridges for the cuts- Accents Essentials, Home Accents and Christmas Cheer. Lots of glitter in several colors, stickles, punches, double sided tape, pop dots, and 3 Maya Road leaf decorative pins
This 3-D origami christmas tree was alot of fun to make it added alot of dimension to this page and I added stickles in 3 colors and punched out little snowflakes to decorate the tree. I saw a tutorial on this tree at Practical Scrappers about 2 weeks ago and I also have nmade several cards with this tree- just love how they turn out.-

I used George for the SNO FUN RUN title backed with the silver vinyl and attached a white ribbon thru the top of the letters. The swirl accents were cut from AE also and sparayed with 2 different colors of mists by tattered angels. Also found some pearlized snowflakes and glued them on in several places on the swirls.
